It's a story of Mumtaz (Tabu) who loses her parents in riots & communal violence. Her uncle is the only family member left to fend for her. She decides to go to Mumbai to start a new life. She gets a temporary job as a bar dancer in Chandni bar, with which she is totally uncomfortable. But, she has to do this until her mama finds a job. After few weeks, she becomes friends with the co-bar dancers. But as she get a hang of her new life, there is a shock in store for her. She gets raped by her Mamu. This devastes her life completely & hence she looks forward eagerly to go to Chandni bar every night to avoid her Mamu. There she meets Potya(Atul Kulkarni), an underworld gangster. Could this be a new beginning for Mumtaz?

Parag Dixit (Neil Nitin Mukesh) is living a happy life with his widow mother, Alka (Navani Parihar) and is doing well at his job in Max Finance. Things go for a toss, when Parag is been convicted with a false drugs case for which he is sent to jail. He is soon promoted as a regional manager for Max Finance and is again living a happy life. But once again he gets arrested, for firing at a Police Inspector in Bandra and in possession of narcotics. His friend Keshav (Jignesh Joshi), in this mishap is seriously injured and taken to the hospital in a condition of coma. Parag is sent to jail and is in a room with no place to move. Parag's girlfriend, Mansi (Mughda Godse) and Alka, hire Advocate Harish Bhatiya (Sandeep Mehta) to fight for a bail, but the judge does not approve of it as the case is very serious. In jail, Parag comes across people either convicted or waiting for trial. He also comes in contact with Abdul Ghani, Kabir Malik, Galib Suratwala, Nawab, Bababhai, etc. Parag again trials for bail but his bail appeal is rejected by the judge. Months pass by, and Parag is yet in jail, suffering for a crime which he has not been involved in. Keshav starts recovering while Parag, with all the witnesses and evidences against him, faces trial. Will Parag be able to prove his innocence, or will be in jail for a much longer period of time? Will Alka and Mansi manage to get Parag out from the jail?

Movie Synopsis:
Madhvi Sharma works as a Journalist with a daily publication in Bombay. Her assignment is to write articles on the third page with updates on celebrities she meets at parties and get-togethers, which start late at night and go on in to the wee hours of the next day. She gets to meet famous people and celebrities, all of whom welcome her, and provide her with personal and business updates. She shares her room with Pearl Sequiera, an outspoken air-hostess, who would like to meet a wealthy man, age immaterial, and settle down anywhere on Earth. While traveling by a Borivali-bound Western Railway train on her way home to Malad, she meets with an attractive young woman named Gayetri Sachdeva, who has no place to live, is sick because she drank alcohol for the first time, and has also been the subject of sexual abuse at the hands of Charu Mohanty, a parallel film-maker. Madhvi's brings her over to apartment and makes her their room-mate. Then things change for Madhvi and her friends. Pearl meets her millionaire, a much older man, marries him and re-locates to New York. Gayetri gets pregnant by Rohit Kumar, a leading married Bollywood actor, who refuses to have anything to do with her, so she tries to kill herself, does not succeed, but loses the baby. She returns back home to Delhi. Madhvi exposes Rohit's role in Gayetri's near-death, and is immediately asked to tender an apology to Rohit, which she does. She finds that she cannot handle her assignments anymore, and asks that she be transferred to work with Vinayak Mane on the crime beat, and thus begins her new life. She sees her some of celebrities in a new light, especially Anjali Thapar, who volunteers with young orphans; and Pratima Bhave who also does considerable social work. Things change rapidly for Madhvi when Anjali commits suicide; and she does an expose on exploitation of young children = which leads to the termination of her employment. What will become of Madhvi now? What has happened to Gayetri?

Madhur Bhandarkar (Marathi: मधुर भांडारकर) (born August 26, 1968) is a National Award-winning Indian film director, script writer, and producer. He is best known for his films such as Chandni Bar (2001), Page 3 (2005), Traffic Signal (2007), and Fashion (2008). He won the National Award for Best Director for Traffic Signal.
Madhur Bhandarkar worked in a video cassette library in Khar, a suburb of Mumbai. This gave him access to a large collection of movies and he studied film-making through it.

Imran Khan Niazi (Urdu: عمران خان نیازی; born 25 November 1952) is a Pakistani politician and former cricketer, playing international cricket for two decades in the late twentieth century. Arguably Pakistan's most successful cricket captain, Khan played for the Pakistani cricket team from 1971 to 1992 and served as its captain intermittently throughout 1982–1992. After retiring from cricket at the end of the 1987 World Cup, he was called back to join the team in 1988. At 39, Khan led his teammates to Pakistan's first and only World Cup victory in 1992. He has a record of 3807 runs and 362 wickets in Test cricket, making him one of eight world cricketers to have achieved an 'All-rounder's Triple' in Test matches. On 14 July 2010, Khan was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame.

She shares her room with Pearl Sequiera, an outspoken air-hostess, who would like to meet a wealthy man, age immaterial, and settle down anywhere on Earth. While traveling by a Borivali-bound Western Railway train on her way home to Malad, she meets with an attractive young woman named Gayetri Sachdeva, who has no place to live, is sick because she drank alcohol for the first time, and has also been the subject of sexual abuse at the hands of Charu Mohanty, a parallel film-maker. Madhvi's brings her over to apartment and makes her their room-mate. Then things change for Madhvi and her friends. Pearl meets her millionaire, a much older man, marries him and re-locates to New York. Gayetri gets pregnant by Rohit Kumar, a leading married Bollywood actor, who refuses to have anything to do with her, so she tries to kill herself, does not succeed, but loses the baby. She returns back home to Delhi. Madhvi exposes Rohit's role in Gayetri's near-death, and is immediately asked to tender an apology to Rohit, which she does. She finds that she cannot handle her assignments anymore, and asks that she be transferred to work with Vinayak Mane on the crime beat, and thus begins her new life. She sees her some of celebrities in a new light, especially Anjali Thapar, who volunteers with young orphans; and Pratima Bhave who also does considerable social work. Things change rapidly for Madhvi when Anjali commits suicide; and she does an expose on exploitation of young children = which leads to the termination of her employment. In jail, Parag comes across people either convicted or waiting for trial. He also comes in contact with Abdul Ghani, Kabir Malik, Galib Suratwala, Nawab, Bababhai, etc. Parag again trials for bail but his bail appeal is rejected by the judge. Months pass by, and Parag is yet in jail, suffering for a crime which he has not been involved in. Keshav starts recovering while Parag, with all the witnesses and evidences against him, faces trial. Will Parag be able to prove his innocence, or will be in jail for a much longer period of time? Will Alka and Mansi manage to get Parag out from the jail?

Months pass by, and Parag is yet in jail, suffering for a crime which he has not been involved in. Keshav starts recovering while Parag, with all the witnesses and evidences against him, faces trial. Movie Synopsis:
Madhvi Sharma works as a Journalist with a daily publication in Bombay. Her assignment is to write articles on the third page with updates on celebrities she meets at parties and get-togethers, which start late at night and go on in to the wee hours of the next day. She gets to meet famous people and celebrities, all of whom welcome her, and provide her with personal and business updates. She shares her room with Pearl Sequiera, an outspoken air-hostess, who would like to meet a wealthy man, age immaterial, and settle down anywhere on Earth. While traveling by a Borivali-bound Western Railway train on her way home to Malad, she meets with an attractive young woman named Gayetri Sachdeva, who has no place to live, is sick because she drank alcohol for the first time, and has also been the subject of sexual abuse at the hands of Charu Mohanty, a parallel film-maker. Madhvi's brings her over to apartment and makes her their room-mate. Then things change for Madhvi and her friends. Pearl meets her millionaire, a much older man, marries him and re-locates to New York. Gayetri gets pregnant by Rohit Kumar, a leading married Bollywood actor, who refuses to have anything to do with her, so she tries to kill herself, does not succeed, but loses the baby. She returns back home to Delhi. Madhvi exposes Rohit's role in Gayetri's near-death, and is immediately asked to tender an apology to Rohit, which she does. She finds that she cannot handle her assignments anymore, and asks that she be transferred to work with Vinayak Mane on the crime beat, and thus begins her new life. She sees her some of celebrities in a new light, especially Anjali Thapar, who volunteers with young orphans; and Pratima Bhave who also does considerable social work. Things change rapidly for Madhvi when Anjali commits suicide; and she does an expose on exploitation of young children = which leads to the termination of her employment. What will become of Madhvi now? What has happened to Gayetri?
