Grab your Speedos and tanning oil, the Baywatch movie has begun production and we’ve got the first set photos right now on Clevver Newsfeed! After months of hype and casting announcements, the hard-R take on Baywatch is finally under way! Filming for Baywatch is taking place in Miami, because obviously and global movie star and the film’s cast leader, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been doing one of the many things he does best – hyping the heck out of this movie on Instagram and using the platform to make casting announcements for such costars as Alexandra Diddario and Priyanka Chopra and now Johnson has taken to Instagram to release the first bunch of set photos from Day 1 of filming. The first pictures show him and co-star Zac Efron looking chummy as he reveals that his character, “Mitch Buchannon” just gave a speech to Efron’s character, “Matt Brody” about what it means to have manly “Alpha balls,” continuing to say that Efron ad-libbed some “brilliant” responses. Sounds like Efron’s time spent in the comedy realm the past few years has given him a leg up. The two seem like the perfect unlikely duo, but the most baffling part of this picture is why The Rock’s muscles are covered up in long sleeves while Efron’s aren’t. Maybe the Rock’s form will be saved for a slo-mo reveal. Another photo of the two had the lifeguards mugging for the camera from a distinct red and yellow speedboat where we’re guessing this manly alpha conversation went down. Zac Efron tweeted out, “1st day protecting the bay is a wrap. Thx to the big guy. Stay tuned. More adventures ahead. #speedoready #baywatch.” A final photo showed him, Efron, and some of the other cast members looking very pleased with the script at a table read the day prior. Humble as always, the Rock thanked the cast and crew for prepping what he believes will be a massive success of a film. And though there’s a distinct lack in the Hoff and Pamela Anderson in these photos, we think we’re going to be OK with the new casting choices – and hey, there’s always room for a cameo. Joining The Rock, Efron, Alexandra Diddario, and Priyanka Chopra will be model Kelly Rohrbach in the classic CJ Parker role, as well as comedian Hannibal Burress, Jon Bass and Illfenesh Hadera. Baywatch is just one of several projects the recently announced MTV Movie Awards co-host will be filming this year. He’ll follow up Baywatch with a return as “Hobbs” in Fast 8 and then what he’s calling “the big one”, an adaption of the video game Rampage with the same producers as Baywatch and San Andreas. Speaking of San Andreas, it was recently announced that he’ll also star in a sequel to that film, though no official release date has been set. As for Efron, he also has a busy schedule with three films set to arrive in 2016, Neighbors 2, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates and The Disaster Artist directed by James Franco. Sun, sand and sexy lifeguards made the perfect mix for the 1989 debut of “Baywatch”. Created by Michael Berk, Douglas Schwartz and Gregory J. Bonann, the series featured a group of steamy lifeguards saving lives while attempting to rescue themselves from their own personal drama. Unfortunately, however, the characters and even the storyline weren’t enough for NBC who debuted the show and canceled it abruptly after one season. By a miracle of second chances, luckily “Baywatch” was welcomed back in syndication in 1991.
With cast members like David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson, “Baywatch” and the red swimsuit babes quickly became one of the most popular shows of the 1990s. Lasting 11 seasons and 242 episodes, the show transformed formerly unknown actors into international superstars with syndication nearly worldwide. Dubbed a massive success, fans begged for more of their favorite characters, which led to numerous spin offs and reunion specials.

Baywatch is an American action drama series about the Los Angeles County Lifeguards who patrol the beaches of Los Angeles County, California, starring David Hasselhoff. The show ran in its original title and format from 1989 to 1999, sans the 1990-1991 season, during which it was not in production. From 1999–2001, with a setting change and large cast overhaul, it was known as Baywatch Hawaii.
Baywatch premiered on NBC in 1989, but was canceled after only one season due to low ratings and also because the studio, GTG, went out of business. Feeling the series still had potential, Hasselhoff along with creators and Executive Producers Michael Berk, Douglas Schwartz and Greg Bonann revived it for the first-run syndication market in 1991. Hasselhoff was given the title of Executive Producer for his work on bringing the show back. The series was hugely successful, especially internationally. The show led to a spin-off: Baywatch Nights, and a reunion movie, Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding.
In 1999, with production costs rising in Los Angeles, and the syndication market shrinking, the plan was to move the show to Australia and launch Baywatch Down Under. A pilot was filmed but the series was stopped when residents of Avalon put forth strong objections, including potential damage to a fragile ecosystem. Pittwater Council permanently barred all future filming. This pilot finally aired as a two-part episode of Baywatch.

After cancellation on NBC, season two (and all subsequent seasons) continued in syndication.
This season marked the final season of the series, the second season of Baywatch Hawaii. The only mainstays from Season 10 were Sean Monroe, JD, Jason and Kekoa. The main cast of this season featured a new cast of rookie lifeguards, replacing the majority of the main cast from the previous season. Mitch Bucannon doesn't return this season after his supposed death at the end of "Killing Machine," the final episode of last season.

This long-running series follows the adventures of a team of lifeguards on a crowded resort beach. Veteran lifeguard Mitch Buchannon watches over the younger lifeguards that come and go with each passing season as they keep the beaches safe for vacationers. Frequently he must take action to save them from the raging seas and from the raging tempers that sometimes flare up between the young guards in this stressful job.

Sun, sand and sexy lifeguards made the perfect mix for the 1989 debut of “Baywatch”. Created by Michael Berk, Douglas Schwartz and Gregory J. Bonann, the series featured a group of steamy lifeguards saving lives while attempting to rescue themselves from their own personal drama. Unfortunately, however, the characters and even the storyline weren’t enough for NBC who debuted the show and canceled it abruptly after one season. By a miracle of second chances, luckily “Baywatch” was welcomed back in syndication in 1991. Grab your Speedos and tanning oil, the Baywatch movie has begun production and we’ve got the first set photos right now on Clevver Newsfeed! After months of hype and casting announcements, the hard-R take on Baywatch is finally under way! Filming for Baywatch is taking place in Miami, because obviously and global movie star and the film’s cast leader, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been doing one of the many things he does best – hyping the heck out of this movie on Instagram and using the platform to make casting announcements for such costars as Alexandra Diddario and Priyanka Chopra and now Johnson has taken to Instagram to release the first bunch of set photos from Day 1 of filming. The first pictures show him and co-star Zac Efron looking chummy as he reveals that his character, “Mitch Buchannon” just gave a speech to Efron’s character, “Matt Brody” about what it means to have manly “Alpha balls,” continuing to say that Efron ad-libbed some “brilliant” responses. Sounds like Efron’s time spent in the comedy realm the past few years has given him a leg up. The two seem like the perfect unlikely duo, but the most baffling part of this picture is why The Rock’s muscles are covered up in long sleeves while Efron’s aren’t. Maybe the Rock’s form will be saved for a slo-mo reveal. Another photo of the two had the lifeguards mugging for the camera from a distinct red and yellow speedboat where we’re guessing this manly alpha conversation went down. Zac Efron tweeted out, “1st day protecting the bay is a wrap. Thx to the big guy. Stay tuned. More adventures ahead. #speedoready #baywatch.” A final photo showed him, Efron, and some of the other cast members looking very pleased with the script at a table read the day prior. Humble as always, the Rock thanked the cast and crew for prepping what he believes will be a massive success of a film. And though there’s a distinct lack in the Hoff and Pamela Anderson in these photos, we think we’re going to be OK with the new casting choices – and hey, there’s always room for a cameo. Joining The Rock, Efron, Alexandra Diddario, and Priyanka Chopra will be model Kelly Rohrbach in the classic CJ Parker role, as well as comedian Hannibal Burress, Jon Bass and Illfenesh Hadera. Baywatch is just one of several projects the recently announced MTV Movie Awards co-host will be filming this year. He’ll follow up Baywatch with a return as “Hobbs” in Fast 8 and then what he’s calling “the big one”, an adaption of the video game Rampage with the same producers as Baywatch and San Andreas. Speaking of San Andreas, it was recently announced that he’ll also star in a sequel to that film, though no official release date has been set. As for Efron, he also has a busy schedule with three films set to arrive in 2016, Neighbors 2, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates and The Disaster Artist directed by James Franco. So we could sit around and talk about the upcoming Baywatch movie reboot… But let’s be real with each other, you clicked on this story to see all kinds of sexy photos of Zac Efron Shirtless, and I’m not one to disappoint.
Zac went HAM on the gram documenting photos of his time on set, this one (of his body) captioned: “Honestly I have a hard time with paparazzi but s/o to this dude.”

While you keep dreaming about his body, I GUESSSS we can talk about what he’ll be doing in the film.
He posted ANOTHER photo to Instagram revealing his character saying QUOTE: “Meet Brody. Cruising into The Bay with nothing to his name but a duffle bag and a bike #Baywatch”
So he’ll be playing the lifeguard taking over the role David Charvet played on the series, back in the 90’s.

So he’ll be playing the lifeguard taking over the role David Charvet played on the series, back in the 90’s.

We told you earlier this month that original Baywatch star David Hasselhoff was set to join the cast of next year’s action comedy starring Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron and today brings the first photos of him from the set. The Hoff himself tweeted out this photo of him with The Rock sporting the signature red shorts and lifeguard float with the caption, “Which is Mitch? Great fun with The Rock and me…great guy Baywatch is gonna Rock and Zac!” Hasselhoff tweeted out another photo with Johnson along with co-star Zac Efron and director Seth Gordon. Efron too tweeted out a photo of him and Hasselhoff on the set writing quote, “Getting schooled. Wisdom from the original Baywatch badass himself @davidhasselhoff. What an honor to meet #TheHoff.” The R-rated comedy will focus on Johnson’s “Mitch Bucchanon”, a by-the-books lifeguard, who teams up with Efron’s young hothead “Matt Brody” in order to stop an oil tycoon from destroying their beloved bay. Other cast members include Johnson’s San Andreas co-star, Alexandra Daddario as “Summer”, model Kelly Rohrbach as “CJ Parker”, Billions Ilfenesh Hadera as Johnson’s love interest, “Stephanie Holden” and Quantico’s Priyanka Chopra as the film’s villain. As for Hasselhoff, it’s unclear who he will play in the film outside of another lifeguard. Exclusive access to the flashy couple at their $10,000 a month home in Beverly Hills reveals their online persona was no exaggeration and their $100,000 a month lifestyle is as large as it appears. Multi-millionaire Bastian told how they were hounded out of Germany for being too flashy, saying people would spit on their Ferrari and sneer at Maria’s large breasts.
