Wire
A wire is a single, usually cylindrical, flexible strand or rod of metal. Wires are used to bear mechanical loads or electricity and telecommunications signals. Wire is commonly formed by drawing the metal through a hole in a die or draw plate. Wire gauges come in various standard sizes, as expressed in terms of a gauge number. The term wire is also used more loosely to refer to a bundle of such strands, as in 'multistranded wire', which is more correctly termed a wire rope in mechanics, or a cable in electricity.
Wire comes in solid core, stranded, or braided forms. Although usually circular in cross-section, wire can be made in square, hexagonal, flattened rectangular, or other cross-sections, either for decorative purposes, or for technical purposes such as high-efficiency voice coils in loudspeakers. Edge-woundcoil springs, such as the Slinky toy, are made of special flattened wire.
History
In antiquity, jewelry often contains, in the form of chains and applied decoration, large amounts of wire that is accurately made and which must have been produced by some efficient, if not technically advanced, means. In some cases, strips cut from metal sheet were made into wire by pulling them through perforations in stone beads. This causes the strips to fold round on themselves to form thin tubes. This strip drawing technique was in use in Egypt by the 2nd Dynasty. From the middle of the 2nd millennium BC most of the gold wires in jewellery are characterised by seam lines that follow a spiral path along the wire. Such twisted strips can be converted into solid round wires by rolling them between flat surfaces or the strip wire drawing method. The strip twist wire manufacturing method was superseded by drawing in the ancient Old World sometime between about the 8th and 10th centuries AD. There is some evidence for the use of drawing further East prior to this period.

Pink Flag
Pink Flag is the debut studio album by English post-punk band Wire. It was released in December 1977, through Harvest Records. Though the album failed to chart on its initial release, the album has been widely acclaimed and is considered influential by critics.
Critical reception
Upon its release, Robert Christgau of The Village Voice called Pink Flag a "punk suite" and praised its "simultaneous rawness and detachment" and detected a rock-and-roll irony similar to but "much grimmer and more frightening" than the Ramones.
In a retrospective review, Steve Huey of AllMusic opined that Pink Flag was "perhaps the most original debut album to come out of the first wave of British punk" and also "recognizable, yet simultaneously quite unlike anything that preceded it. Pink Flag's enduring influence pops up in hardcore, post-punk, alternative rock, and even Britpop, and it still remains a fresh, invigorating listen today: a fascinating, highly inventive rethinking of punk rock and its freedom to make up your own rules."Trouser Press called the album "a brilliant 21-song suite" in which the band "manipulated classic rock song structure by condensing them into brief, intense explosions of attitude and energy, coming up with a collection of unforgettable tunes".

The 1977 debut by Wire, universally praised and cited as an important records in the history of punk and seminal to the development of post-punk.
As for me -- I can't disagree. I think the critics got this one pretty
much exactly right.
As you can see, Wire writes 'em short and numerous on this album. And every one of the twenty-one offerings here has some punch to it. I often lose a little enjoyment with some British punk because it was so damn serious and political, compared to the generally much more lighthearted approach of the American
punkers, but Wire manages that middle ground where there is a message but it's always about the music. Wire never falls into the abject political nudity of, say, Gang of Four.
At times melodic, at times cacophonous, Wire was something very distinct and new in 1977. I hear plenty of what would become Flipper, Husker Du, The Minutemen, and others.
The creativity and brilliance of this album is summed up by "Field Day for the Sundays," which, in a mere 28 SECONDS, so aptly captures the stupidity of fame and the press that feeds upon it.
This album gets an A with no reservations.
The visuals is me being silly with a video editing program. I found several slightly different pictures of the front cover of this album; I put them together then started fooling around with ways to loop and overlay the pictures. The title slides are found pix on Google, overlaid with pink, fittingly. Where the font is not the usual one,
that means the words were found naturally occurring in the picture.

We’ve created a video to demonstrate our step by step process of gaining access to data on Western Digital My Passport drive with a Western Digital proprietary USB 3.0 interface that aren’t recognized when you connect them. It’s important to note that the Western Digital Passport is a very popular hard drive choice these days and we see it come in for recovery with a wide array of different problems. However, some issues are unique to Western Digital.
Before going any further with your Western Digital Data Recovery Project, please note the following:
If your hard drive is making a clicking sound, it needs a head replacement. Power down the drive immediately and contact HDD Recovery Services for assistance. Head replacement is not a DIY type of task. Doing this yourself or continuing to use the drive could create irreversible damage and destroy your data permanently.
The hard drive in our case study video never went through any physical damage. It was never dropped, hit or bumped. The owner took great care of the drive. The drive just wouldn't load one day. It did make all the normal sounds such as:
Spinning up
Calibrating
Stays idling
Doesn't spin down
No clicking sounds

Dealing With Encryption During Western Digital Data Recovery Process
Decrypting the drive isn’t difficult. We could use either the original USB 3.0 PCB or a compatible USB board from a Western Digital MyBook that uses the same encryption revision type. If you have any questions about decrypting the drive, please contact us for more information. We’d be glad to explain this step further.
SATA Conversion
You have numerous options when it comes to solutions that support specialized USB drives, including ATOLA, Deepspar and ACE LAB. Through extensive testing, we’ve found our method to be bullet proof. It has never failed to deliver solid results. We’ve found that when dealing with passport drives, the best option is to combine ACE LAB products with manual SATA conversion followed by hardware decryption of the image.
When it comes to SATA conversion, there are two different approaches including:
1.Find a compatible SATA PCB from the same hard drive family of the drive you’re working on. Compare the numbers on the main controllers and spindle idle controller to see if they’re compatible. To make it even easier for you, here’s a compatibility list:
2.Solder your own SATA connector. Start by buying a connector on sites such as Digikey, eBay or aliexpress. Remove the capacitors C13, C18, C31 and C37 on the component side of the PCB to disable the USB bridge. You use the existing USB connector to get the necessary 5V of power to spin the drive. Though it’s not required, it’s also a good idea to put the 10nF resistor inline with the signal leads. No matter what you do, try to keep the wires as short as possible to make it easier to work with.
Fireware Issues
The majority of firmware issues that occur with WD Passport drives are related to module #32, which is also known as Relo-List. To get past the problem, this module must be cleaned if there are any entries in it. You also need to restrict any further defect relocation entries or you could be faced with another firmware lockout during the imaging process. Handle the problem completely now for less trouble later on. You can do this with the help of tools from manufacturers such as Ace Laboratory, Deepspar, Atola and possibly others. The next step is to check that all other critical modules are in good shape. Run a head test to insure all the heads are responding properly to read commands. If the modules and heads are good to go, it’s time to start the imaging process.

1.Find a compatible SATA PCB from the same hard drive family of the drive you’re working on. Compare the numbers on the main controllers and spindle idle controller to see if they’re compatible. To make it even easier for you, here’s a compatibility list:
2.Solder your own SATA connector. Start by buying a connector on sites such as Digikey, eBay or aliexpress. Remove the capacitors C13, C18, C31 and C37 on the component side of the PCB to disable the USB bridge. Check out the pinout for the 7-pin SATA connector to make sure you have it just right on our blog here: http://www.hddrecovery.ca/blog/slow-p...
You use the existing USB connector to get the necessary 5V of power to spin the drive. Though it’s not required, it’s also a good idea to put the 10nF resistor inline with the signal leads. No matter what you do, try to keep the wires as short as possible to make it easier to work with.
Fireware Issues
The majority of firmware issues that occur with WD Passport drives are related to module #32, which is also known as Relo-List. To get past the problem, this module must be cleaned if there are any entries in it. You also need to restrict any further defect relocation entries or you could be faced with another firmware lockout during the imaging process. Handle the problem completely now for less trouble later on. You can do this with the help of tools from manufacturers such as Ace Laboratory, Deepspar, Atola and possibly others. The next step is to check that all other critical modules are in good shape. Run a head test to insure all the heads are responding properly to read commands. If the modules and heads are good to go, it’s time to start the imaging process.
