What do we hate? Body shaming. What do we love? Sexy photo shoots with a cheeky sense of humor and lots and LOTS of potato chips! British model and Aerie brand representative Iskra Lawrence posted a screen grab of a nasty comment to her Facebook page. This troll left a comment on her Instagram, blaming her for ruining the British health care system by eating too many potato chips. Or something? Yeah, it didn’t make a lot of sense to me, either. Lawrence chose to fight the hate in the best possible way: a drool-worthy glam photo shoot featuring her favorite bags of salty snacks.

Apparently THIS CAKE looked so much like a tit, it violated Instagram's terms of use.  THIS CAKE: image via Jennifer Moseley on InstagramJennifer Moseley, Executive Pastry Chef at The Modern Pantry in London, baked a traditional Simnel cake for Easter and unintentionally whipped up heaps of trouble for her mom.
Let me tell you what my life was like when I was young and men looked at me.Once, at a street market in Moscow, I dismissed the advances of a guy. A block later he caught up with me and punched me in the back of the head. Hard.On my way to work one morning, I crossed Broadway at 36th Street and a man grabbed the back of my hair. He pulled it like he was going to drag me somewhere, but let go, maybe because the light changed. In a bar one night, a man, whose unwanted advances I’d been avoiding, urinated on my leg. It was the '90s, and I was wearing tights and wool clogs.
I began powder coating in 2013.In 2012 I began my jewelry line, Funhouse Labs. I found myself wanting to use brightly colored metal components in my jewelry. Body heat and skin oils eroded through many of the paint and enamel formulations I was working with. Then I remembered something that I had heard before called powder coating.Powder coating is a type of coating that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. This powder is made of plastic particles and the consistency is very similar to loose cosmetic powder. The dry powder is applied with a spray gun using compressed air.
“Beauty comes in a million shades,” writes photographer Sara Melotti, creator of the project Quest for Beauty. Melotti is traveling the world, photographing women of all nations and ages to show one overarching truth: that we are all beautiful. She wants to reclaim the word “beauty,” disentangling it from narrow standards of media-dictated physical perfection. “I think the world—especially the western one—forgot what Beauty really is,” Melotti writes in her artist’s statement.

New York State legislative leaders and Governor Cuomo have reached a budget agreement that includes one of the most progressive paid family leave policies in America to date. While the effects of the policy won’t be in full throttle for a few years, the implications of its passing are huge. New York State is setting a precedent for the fair treatment of workers nationally. While other states like California, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Washington have all passed family-leave programs, New York’s is the most expansive and dynamic.
Celebrities are tired of being labeled. Recently, many famous women have been speaking their minds about the labeling of models and clothing as “plus sized,” which leads to the separation of women based on numbers on a scale.Melissa McCarthy, who recently launched a badass clothing line for women, told Refinery29, “Seventy percent of women in the US are a size 14 or above and that’s technically ‘plus-size,’ so you’re taking your biggest category of people and telling them, ‘You’re not really worthy.
On Friday, the Mississippi House passed the final version of HB 1523, a bill that would allow business owners to discriminate against basically everybody: queer people, anyone who’s had premarital sex, and anyone who doesn’t dress according to their biological sex. No, this is not an April Fool’s Day post. This is the so-called “Protecting Freedom of Conscience from Government Discrimination Act,” and it’s very, very real.
