Life Partner is a 2009 Bollywood romantic comedy film. It stars Govinda, Fardeen Khan, Tusshar Kapoor, Genelia D'Souza and Prachi Desai in lead roles. The film is written and directed by Rumi Jaffery and produced by Abbas-Mustan under their banner, Burmawalla Bros. It received positive reviews upon its release on 14 August 2009, though it was an average grosser at the Indian Box Office

Plot

Karan (Fardeen Khan) and Bhavesh (Tusshar Kapoor) are close friends living in Cape Town, South Africa. Karan is in a comfortable relationship with his beautiful yet childish and pampered girlfriend Sanjana (Genelia D'Souza), who changes her profession every six months, e.g. singing to painting, almost always very disastrously (this is something Karan always puts up with, as much as he hates it). Her father (Anupam Kher) always tries to keep her happy and supports her in whatever she does. Bhavesh wishes for an arranged marriage and keeps a diary of all the beautiful things he will do to his wife after marriage. His father Darshan Manibhai Patel (Darshan Jariwala) is a strict autocrat, patriarch and a tough follower of the Hindustani, especially Gujarati, principles in a foreign land. Jeet (Govinda) does not believe in marriage or love. He flirts with every woman he meets and encourages married women into divorcing their spouses so that his living as a divorce lawyer is uncompromised.

Fardeen Khan

Fardeen Khan (born 1 April1974) is an Indian film actor known for his work in Bollywood. Fardeen made his Hindi film acting debut in 1998 with Prem Aggan, for which he garnered the Filmfare Best Debut Award. He then starred in successful films such as Jungle (2000), Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega (2001), Bhoot (2002), Janasheen (2005), No Entry (2005), Heyy Babyy (2007), and All the Best: Fun Begins (2009).

Early life and background

Fardeen Khan was born on 8 March 1974 to actor Feroz Khan and his wife Sundari. He has a sister Laila Khan.

Fardeen is the nephew of actors Sanjay Khan and Akbar Khan. He is the cousin of actor Zayed Khan and Suzanne Khan. Fardeen studied at Jamnabai Narsee School in Juhu India. He graduated in Business Management course at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Then he trained in acting at the Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute.

Personal life

Fardeen Khan is married to Mumtaz's daughter, Natasha Madhvani (with whom he has a daughter with). The wedding took place on 14 December 2005 at Amby Valley, Mumbai.

Tusshar Kapoor

Tusshar Kapoor is an Indian film actor and producer, known for his works in bollywood. Son of veteran actor Jeetendra and younger brother to Ekta Kapoor, he is also the co-owner of Balaji Telefilms and Balaji Motion Pictures. He made his debut in 2001 with the blockbuster Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai, a remake of the Telugu super hit Tholi Prema, alongside Kareena Kapoor. He received the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut for his work in the film. Kapoor then appeared in two more Telugu remakes Jeena Sirf Merre Liye (2002), and Yeh Dil (2003), which fared moderately well at the box office, he then appeared in Ram Gopal Varma's production Gayab (2004) which had kapoor receiving appreciation for his work.

Prachi Desai

Prachi Desai (born 12 September 1988) is an Indian Bollywood film and television actress. She started her television career as the lead protagonist in successful TV drama Kasamh Se on Zee TV. She made her Bollywood career with the 2008 film Rock On!!. Her other notable features includes Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai (2010), Bol Bachchan (2012) and I, Me Aur Main (2013). She is also the endorser, spokesperson, brand ambassador and the face of Goa Tourism and Neutrogena products in India. Desai also a brand ambassador of Luxlyra.

Early life and background

Prachi Desai was born in Surat, Gujarat to Niranjan Desai and Ameeta Desai. She has one sister named Esha Desai.

Desai has studied in St. Joseph Convent, Panchgani and completed her schooling till ninth grade in Surat. She has completed her higher studies in Sinhagad College in Pune.

Career

2006 brought a new turn in Prachi's life when she got selected to play the lead role in Ekta Kapoor's television drama Kasamh Se, she was cast as Bani, opposite TV actor Ram Kapoor.
