Shake It Up - Episode 2 - Disney India
When Neel and Yash audition for Shake it Up, Mumbai, a popular TV dance show, they see it as their first step toward becoming professional dancers. Despite the heckling from their main competitors, the twins Manjot and Mandeep, and the nervousness about being on camera, Yash clears the auditions. Ironically, it is the over-confident Neel who freezes under the spotlights. Though disappointed, Neel tries to be very encouraging of the new turn in Yash’s life, but Yash convinces Neel that being on the show together would be much more fun. Yash sneaks Neel into the studio during the next shoot, where Neel manages to impresses the host, Shekhar Grover, and win a place as a background dancer.

Shake It Up - Episode 2 - Disney India
High on the fact that they’re recognized in school as on Shake it Up dancers, Neel and Yash begin to feel that the time has come for them to be more than just background performers. They try to push Shekhar Grover for some ‘star’ perks and are firmly put in their places. Meanwhile, the Judwa Jo-Di is going out of its way to curry favour with Shekhar and it all seems to fall into place when Dheeraj Dambole shows them a clip that he’s captured on his handy cam. It appears that the studio owner is putting pressure on Shekhar to fire two people and fearing it’s going to be them, Neel and Yash do a complete U-turn and go on an overdrive to please Shekhar. In trying to outdo the twins, Neel and Yash polish the dance floor, making the situation worse for themselves. Not ready to give up, they pull off yet another ploy, this time with the help of the tech-savvy Dheeraj - all this only to realize that Shekhar never really intended to fire them.
Meanwhile, Jai shows little Aayush some moves to impress girls with and Aayush ends up stealing Jai’s thunder.

Neel can’t wait to get a spotlight dance and his chance shows up when Shekhar Grover announces the Dance Marathon and says that the last pair standing will win themselves a spotlight dance. Suddenly, Neel finds himself ready to put up with the crotchety members of the Nana Nani Manoranjan Samiti, because Shekhar makes it clear that all participating pairs have to support a charity. To make sure that they don’t run out of steam in the Marathon, Neel gets hold of Takkar-Shakkar, a herbal, sugary drink known for boosting energy levels. But, things take an unexpected turn when Aayush stumbles upon the drink and finishes it. In trying to get a hyper-energized Aayush to go to bed, Neel and Yash end up staying up most of the night and wake up exhausted on the day of the Dance Marathon. During the Marathon, Jai’s agenda is to make Yash and Neel fall asleep so that he doesn’t have to cough up sponsorship money for every hour that they dance, while Dheeraj’s agenda is to keep them awake for as long as possible so that his boutique maushi’s accessories get some free advertising on TV. Just when it looks like Neel and Yash are going to collapse, boutique maushi’s blingy accessories start short-circuiting, giving them the jolt they need to become the last pair standing.

With their hard work on Shake it Up, Neel and Yash start making a lot of extra pocket money. On Neel’s mother’s advice they decide to open joint accounts with their mothers. Armed with permission documents, they go to the bank where much to their excitement, they get their first debit cards. After a crazy binge on dud gizmos and junk food, they realize that they’ve been a little selfish and haven’t done anything for Jai and Dheeraj. So they invite the two for lunch to their favourite restaurant, where midway into the meal they discover that they’ve maxed their debit cards. The only way to leave the restaurant without paying for their meal is to accept the restaurant’s Pet Phad challenge and eat a massive Kaddu Kofta in under an hour.

Neel and Yash overhear at the studio that Shekhar is throwing one of his legendary parties and they manage to force an invitation out of him. They devise a plan to sneak out so that their mothers don't find out. Aayush, Jai and Dheeraj are the only ones who are in on their secret. However, when the boys arrive at Shekhar’s house, they discover that they’re going to be the waiters of the party. Their disappointment vanishes rather quickly when they realize that they’re sharing the kitchen with two college girls. They pretend to be college boys and all seems to be going well till they realize that the group photo that are in is going to be in the morning’s paper and that both their mothers are sure to see it. Meanwhile SP Kiran Walia gets home earlier than expected and when she finds the boys missing she puts Jai, Dheeraj and Aayush through a hilarious but effective torture technique and gets the information she needs. And just when Neel and Jai have gone through complex maneuvers to delete the group photo and are back on even keel, SP Kiran Walia shows up at the party.

Dheeraj invites Yash to join him on a double date, but Yash asks Neel to tag along as well. Throughout the movie, Yash and Neel’s constant banter leaves the two girls feeling so awkward that they walk out. Dheeraj then points out to the two boys that their constant companionship is very annoying. Fearing that they’re going to turn into an inseparable pair like the Judwa Jo-Di, Neel decides that both of them should try doing things separately and make new friends. But, when that actually happens and Yash joins a karate class and starts hanging out with new buddies, Neel realizes how bored he is without Yash’s company and joins the karate class as well.
Meanwhile, Vishal Budhiraja has been clobbered by a girl in his class and Aayush decides it’s time for him to man up and take karate lessons. In the karate class, when a totally un-sporty Vishal manages to throw Neel to the floor, Aayush feels elated that Vishal has won the right to say that he’s beaten up a big boy.

Neel and Yash are selected as background dancers for teen sensation Rhea Shah’s song-and-dance act on Shake it Up. Flustered and dumbstruck by the fact that he will actually be in the presence of the gorgeous Rhea, Yash goes into a robotic trance and can barely move or talk when she is around. After a practice session in Rhea’s hotel suite, Yash is reluctant to leave till he manages to get a picture of himself posing with Rhea’s trophies. While taking the picture, Neel unintentionally gets Rhea’s dresser in the frame and when the two boys take a closer look at the shot, they realize that there’s a framed wedding photo of Rhea and her husband (who all this while has been posing as her manager) on the dresser. This makes them realize that Rhea has been lying about her age. Not knowing how to deal with this information, Neel decides to forward the photo to his mother, but accidentally forwards it to everyone on his contact list. By the time the two boys get to Rhea’s hotel to confess their mistake, the news of Rhea’s wedding photo is already on TV. Thinking they’ve completely ruined Rhea’s career, Neel and Yash are pleasantly surprised when she actually thanks them for liberating her from a lie.
Meanwhile, much to Mandeep’s annoyance, Jai is trying to teach Manjot to talk cool. Manjot actually gets quite good at it, but then realizes he’s better off with his natural, bumpkin-speak.

But, after he reads the students’ website and discovers that he is considered a boring, goody-goody boy, he decides to change his image completely. He purposely gives wrong answers during the new Vice Principal’s surprise quiz and ends up in the extra classes room, a place that he’s never been in before. Instead of going to the library, he hangs out with the toughies of the school and totally ignores a crucial school assignment. He finally comes to his senses when the Vice Principal orders him to stay home for three days and complete his overdue assignment. This would ruin his perfect attendance record and Yash realizes he’d rather have that than his bad boy image.

Neel takes to matchmaking in a big way. He thinks he’s found a perfect special friend for Dheeraj in Ishita Sharma, but just then Ishita walks up to say that she’s found a better friend than Dheeraj. Now Neel sets up a matchmaking stall, starts screening CVs and telling every girl who comes there that she’s just right for Dheeraj. Meanwhile, Dheeraj has only one thing on his mind – to win a radio call-in contest and get a chance at grabbing flying money. Mysteriously, Ishita shows up at the radio station and Neel and Yash realize that she has started re-liking Dheeraj only because he might win money in the contest. Now the two boys have their hopes pinned on Dina, a headphones-sporting, walking-talking deal maker exactly like their friend.
Back in the Walia household, Aayush continues his attempt at turning genius Vishal into a normal boy, this time with some much needed survival tips for Vishal’s camping trip.

Tired of playing second fiddle to school topper Jeet, Yash is determined defeat him and his equally annoying girl counterpart, Geet, at something. The opportunity shows up in the form of the school talent contest. Yash and Neel team up with the enemy Jo-Di to form what they believe is an unbeatable dance foursome. However, the Judwa Jo-Di gets tricked into joining forces with Jeet and Geet, only to be dropped like hot bricks just hours before the contest. Shekhar Grover enlists Mandeep and Neel to choreograph the Nanhi Kali Beauty Pageant that he has to host. While Yash is completely horrified by the idea of little kids competing for a title, Mandeep gets carried away by her love for blingy outfits, elaborate poses, tiaras and makeup. Until she realizes that most of the little girls are a little mean and competitive. It’s then that Mandeep and Yash start seeing eye-to-eye about little Zarine, an out-and-out tomboy. They start coaching her to be herself and tell the jury exactly how she feels about kiddy beauty pageants. However, in a comic reversal, Zarine turns traitor to the cause in the final moments actually tells the jury how much she loves the Nanhi Kali title.
Meanwhile, Dheeraj meets Dina’s father who puts him through a very strange test of sincerity – that of taking care of his pet rooster.

Shake It Up (also known as Shake It Up!) is an American television sitcom airing on Disney Channel in the United States. The series premiered on November 7, 2010. Created by Chris Thompson and starring Bella Thorne and Zendaya, the show follows the adventures of Cece Jones (Thorne) and Rocky Blue (Zendaya) as they star as background dancers on a local show, Shake It Up Chicago. It also chronicles their misadventures on- and off-set, and their troubles and rising social status at school. Davis Cleveland, Roshon Fegan, Adam Irigoyen, Kenton Duty and Caroline Sunshine also are other main cast members in the series.
The show's original concept was for Disney to create a female buddy comedy, only with a dance aspect. The dance concept is Disney's third original series, after The Famous Jett Jackson and Sonny with a Chance, to use a show-within-a-show format. The series is also the first Disney Channel Original Series since So Random! and Sonny with a Chance to have more than six main contract cast members at one time.

Shekhar Grover enlists Mandeep and Neel to choreograph the Nanhi Kali Beauty Pageant that he has to host. While Yash is completely horrified by the idea of little kids competing for a title, Mandeep gets carried away by her love for blingy outfits, elaborate poses, tiaras and makeup. Until she realizes that most of the little girls are a little mean and competitive. It’s then that Mandeep and Yash start seeing eye-to-eye about little Zarine, an out-and-out tomboy. They start coaching her to be herself and tell the jury exactly how she feels about kiddy beauty pageants. However, in a comic reversal, Zarine turns traitor to the cause in the final moments actually tells the jury how much she loves the Nanhi Kali title. On the 15th anniversary special of Shake it Up, Neel and Yash are selected to do the generation dance with former background dancers, Anjali Dhawan and Reena Jain. Once best friends, these two 30-year old ladies now can’t bear the sight of each other. Their constant bickering makes Neel and Yash wonder if they’ll be able to sustain their own friendship when they grow up. In comically exaggerated daydreams, both Neel and Yash visualize what they might turn into, 15 years down the line, without their best friend to keep them in check. The vision of the future is so horrific that both realize how important it is to have that one friend who can always be counted on to keep their flaws and foibles in check. Through some complex machinations, Neel and Yash manage to reunite Anjali and Reena and the generation dance is a success. It turns out that Jo and Di’s parents are even more over-the-top than their kids. Meanwhile, Jai goes for an ad film audition, where he gets rejected and little Aayush catches the director’s eye. However, Aayush discovers that he’s not modelling for a juice commercial like he’d thought, but for a diaper pants commercial! From the audition, Jai and Aayush have to rush to Jo-Di’s house, to rescue their brothers from that crazy home, but instead of making a quick exit, they get even more involved in the outrageous ceremonies and feasts, because, as it turns out, Aayush is a natural at Sha-ta-taru celebrations. Ironically, it is the over-confident Neel who freezes under the spotlights. Though disappointed, Neel tries to be very encouraging of the new turn in Yash’s life, but Yash convinces Neel that being on the show together would be much more fun. High on the fact that they’re recognized in school as on Shake it Up dancers, Neel and Yash begin to feel that the time has come for them to be more than just background performers. They try to push Shekhar Grover for some ‘star’ perks and are firmly put in their places. Meanwhile, the Judwa Jo-Di is going out of its way to curry favour with Shekhar and it all seems to fall into place when Dheeraj Dambole shows them a clip that he’s captured on his handy cam. It appears that the studio owner is putting pressure on Shekhar to fire two people and fearing it’s going to be them, Neel and Yash do a complete U-turn and go on an overdrive to please Shekhar. In trying to outdo the twins, Neel and Yash polish the dance floor, making the situation worse for themselves. Not ready to give up, they pull off yet another ploy, this time with the help of the tech-savvy Dheeraj - all this only to realize that Shekhar never really intended to fire them.
Meanwhile, Jai shows little Aayush some moves to impress girls with and Aayush ends up stealing Jai’s thunder.

Neel can’t wait to get a spotlight dance and his chance shows up when Shekhar Grover announces the Dance Marathon and says that the last pair standing will win themselves a spotlight dance. Suddenly, Neel finds himself ready to put up with the crotchety members of the Nana Nani Manoranjan Samiti, because Shekhar makes it clear that all participating pairs have to support a charity. To make sure that they don’t run out of steam in the Marathon, Neel gets hold of Takkar-Shakkar, a herbal, sugary drink known for boosting energy levels. But, things take an unexpected turn when Aayush stumbles upon the drink and finishes it. In trying to get a hyper-energized Aayush to go to bed, Neel and Yash end up staying up most of the night and wake up exhausted on the day of the Dance Marathon. During the Marathon, Jai’s agenda is to make Yash and Neel fall asleep so that he doesn’t have to cough up sponsorship money for every hour that they dance, while Dheeraj’s agenda is to keep them awake for as long as possible so that his boutique maushi’s accessories get some free advertising on TV. Just when it looks like Neel and Yash are going to collapse, boutique maushi’s blingy accessories start short-circuiting, giving them the jolt they need to become the last pair standing.

After a crazy binge on dud gizmos and junk food, they realize that they’ve been a little selfish and haven’t done anything for Jai and Dheeraj. So they invite the two for lunch to their favourite restaurant, where midway into the meal they discover that they’ve maxed their debit cards. The only way to leave the restaurant without paying for their meal is to accept the restaurant’s Pet Phad challenge and eat a massive Kaddu Kofta in under an hour.

Neel and Yash overhear at the studio that Shekhar is throwing one of his legendary parties and they manage to force an invitation out of him. They devise a plan to sneak out so that their mothers don't find out. Aayush, Jai and Dheeraj are the only ones who are in on their secret. However, when the boys arrive at Shekhar’s house, they discover that they’re going to be the waiters of the party. Their disappointment vanishes rather quickly when they realize that they’re sharing the kitchen with two college girls. They pretend to be college boys and all seems to be going well till they realize that the group photo that are in is going to be in the morning’s paper and that both their mothers are sure to see it. Meanwhile SP Kiran Walia gets home earlier than expected and when she finds the boys missing she puts Jai, Dheeraj and Aayush through a hilarious but effective torture technique and gets the information she needs. And just when Neel and Jai have gone through complex maneuvers to delete the group photo and are back on even keel, SP Kiran Walia shows up at the party.

Dheeraj invites Yash to join him on a double date, but Yash asks Neel to tag along as well. Throughout the movie, Yash and Neel’s constant banter leaves the two girls feeling so awkward that they walk out. Dheeraj then points out to the two boys that their constant companionship is very annoying. Fearing that they’re going to turn into an inseparable pair like the Judwa Jo-Di, Neel decides that both of them should try doing things separately and make new friends. But, when that actually happens and Yash joins a karate class and starts hanging out with new buddies, Neel realizes how bored he is without Yash’s company and joins the karate class as well.
Meanwhile, Vishal Budhiraja has been clobbered by a girl in his class and Aayush decides it’s time for him to man up and take karate lessons. In the karate class, when a totally un-sporty Vishal manages to throw Neel to the floor, Aayush feels elated that Vishal has won the right to say that he’s beaten up a big boy.

Neel and Yash are selected as background dancers for teen sensation Rhea Shah’s song-and-dance act on Shake it Up. Flustered and dumbstruck by the fact that he will actually be in the presence of the gorgeous Rhea, Yash goes into a robotic trance and can barely move or talk when she is around. After a practice session in Rhea’s hotel suite, Yash is reluctant to leave till he manages to get a picture of himself posing with Rhea’s trophies. While taking the picture, Neel unintentionally gets Rhea’s dresser in the frame and when the two boys take a closer look at the shot, they realize that there’s a framed wedding photo of Rhea and her husband (who all this while has been posing as her manager) on the dresser. This makes them realize that Rhea has been lying about her age. Not knowing how to deal with this information, Neel decides to forward the photo to his mother, but accidentally forwards it to everyone on his contact list. By the time the two boys get to Rhea’s hotel to confess their mistake, the news of Rhea’s wedding photo is already on TV. Thinking they’ve completely ruined Rhea’s career, Neel and Yash are pleasantly surprised when she actually thanks them for liberating her from a lie.
Meanwhile, much to Mandeep’s annoyance, Jai is trying to teach Manjot to talk cool. Manjot actually gets quite good at it, but then realizes he’s better off with his natural, bumpkin-speak.

Neel takes to matchmaking in a big way. He thinks he’s found a perfect special friend for Dheeraj in Ishita Sharma, but just then Ishita walks up to say that she’s found a better friend than Dheeraj. Now Neel sets up a matchmaking stall, starts screening CVs and telling every girl who comes there that she’s just right for Dheeraj. Meanwhile, Dheeraj has only one thing on his mind – to win a radio call-in contest and get a chance at grabbing flying money. Mysteriously, Ishita shows up at the radio station and Neel and Yash realize that she has started re-liking Dheeraj only because he might win money in the contest. Now the two boys have their hopes pinned on Dina, a headphones-sporting, walking-talking deal maker exactly like their friend.
Back in the Walia household, Aayush continues his attempt at turning genius Vishal into a normal boy, this time with some much needed survival tips for Vishal’s camping trip.

Shekhar Grover enlists Mandeep and Neel to choreograph the Nanhi Kali Beauty Pageant that he has to host. While Yash is completely horrified by the idea of little kids competing for a title, Mandeep gets carried away by her love for blingy outfits, elaborate poses, tiaras and makeup. Until she realizes that most of the little girls are a little mean and competitive. It’s then that Mandeep and Yash start seeing eye-to-eye about little Zarine, an out-and-out tomboy. They start coaching her to be herself and tell the jury exactly how she feels about kiddy beauty pageants. However, in a comic reversal, Zarine turns traitor to the cause in the final moments actually tells the jury how much she loves the Nanhi Kali title.
Meanwhile, Dheeraj meets Dina’s father who puts him through a very strange test of sincerity – that of taking care of his pet rooster.

Once best friends, these two 30-year old ladies now can’t bear the sight of each other. Their constant bickering makes Neel and Yash wonder if they’ll be able to sustain their own friendship when they grow up. In comically exaggerated daydreams, both Neel and Yash visualize what they might turn into, 15 years down the line, without their best friend to keep them in check. The vision of the future is so horrific that both realize how important it is to have that one friend who can always be counted on to keep their flaws and foibles in check. Through some complex machinations, Neel and Yash manage to reunite Anjali and Reena and the generation dance is a success. Meanwhile, Dheeraj, Aayush and Jai stage an elaborate funeral for Aayush’s pet fish, Shri Paplet.

From the audition, Jai and Aayush have to rush to Jo-Di’s house, to rescue their brothers from that crazy home, but instead of making a quick exit, they get even more involved in the outrageous ceremonies and feasts, because, as it turns out, Aayush is a natural at Sha-ta-taru celebrations.

Neel and Yash finally get their spotlight dance, but on that day everything goes a little more crazy than usual. A horrible viral fever is spreading through Mumbai and Shekhar Grover is it’s latest victim. Worried that this might jeopardize their spotlight dance, Neel and Yash decide to run the studio for the day, while Shekhar lies sick in his dressing room. This leads to many near-disasters – the foreign dance troupe that would be putting up the main act of the day storm out of the studio when they overhear Neel’s rude remarks about them. The resourceful Yash quickly finds a replacement group and just they think they’ve managed to pull the wool over Shekhar’s eyes, Neel and Yash come down with the viral fever and it is Mandeep who gets to do the spotlight dance.
Meanwhile, Dheeraj and Aayush try and duck out of running errands and go for a cricket match instead.

Since it's spring season, track practice requires an after-school run or two ... and calls it a day around 8 p.m ... Is it a regimented approach? You bet ... It isn't boring....

The expo, which included 30,000 runners and their families and friends trying to pick up their bibs and souvenirs, was a complete zoo ... While crowds can be frustrating, it's impossible to not feel the excitement in the room ... I picked up my bib, this year I am No. 16825, as well as my official swag bag, which included a long-sleeve technical shirt, as well as a great bottle opener ... It's hard to not buy Boston-branded everything....
