Released in 1984, Stanley: Every Home Should Have One (Sometimes shortened to just ‘Stanley’, or its alternate title ‘Stanley Junior’) is an Australian independent romantic/action comedy movie starring Nell (credited as Nell Campbell), Peter Bensley, and Graham Kennedy. The film was written by Esben Storm & Andrew Gaty, with Storm also directing. Plot Summary: Stanley Dunstan is a lovable eccentric. Unfortunately, the handsome son & heir to the family fortune has created nothing but mayhem for the family since childhood. Expelled from 13 schools, trading Company Shares for wild times, even winding up in a Thai jail. For years his father has tried to make Stanley ‘normal’ – but to no avail. When Stanley disrupts his father’s international Board Meeting on roller-skates to deliver his craziest marketing theory yet, a desperate Sir Stanley Dunstan decides his son should spend some time in the family Sanatorium. However, Stanley is not one to take psychiatric advice lying down. Eluding the family butler, his Rolls Royce & his team of secret agents, Stanley makes a hasty retreat to prove he can become ‘normal’ by himself. Cleverly tracking down Australia’s most ‘normal’ family, Stanley moves in and models his behavior on theirs. All is going according to plan – a ‘normal’ home, ‘normal’ job, and ‘normal’ girlfriend (almost), until Stanley discovers some unusual secrets in the Norris family closet! Stanley, true to form, jumps to their aid. The hilarious outcome of the ensuing sequence of events, brings Stanley to one conclusion …Nothing…least of all ‘normality’ is what it seems!
