This Will Destroy You (album)

This Will Destroy You is the eponymous first studio album by the American band This Will Destroy You. It was released on January 29, 2008 through Magic Bullet Records.

The vinyl version of the album was pressed on red, blue and white vinyl and contains a quote from the television series Deadwood ("I may have fucked my life up flatter than hammered shit, but I stand before you today beholden to no human cocksucker") etched around the center label.

"Burial on the Presidio Banks" is featured in the final scene of CSI: Miami episode "Flight Risk".

"They Move on Tracks of Never-Ending Light" was used as part of an NBC introductory film narrated by Tom Brokaw which overviews Canada for the 2010 Winter Olympics. It was also used in the independent film The Diary of Preston Plummer (2012), starring Trevor Morgan

"The Mighty Rio Grande" is used prominently throughout the 2011 film Moneyball. In February 2015 the track was used by American web-based production company Rooster Teeth in a tribute video to the late Monty Oum, creator of the popular web series RWBY.

The Mighty

The Mighty is a 1998 drama film directed by Peter Chelsom and based on the book Freak the Mighty by Rodman Philbrick. The film stars Sharon Stone, Gena Rowlands, Gillian Anderson, Harry Dean Stanton, Kieran Culkin, James Gandolfini, and Elden Henson.

Plot

Kevin (Kieran Culkin) is a 13-year-old boy who has Mucopolysaccharidosis IV (or Morquio syndrome) and lives with his mother Gwen (Sharon Stone). He is extremely intelligent and prone to flights of fancy but due to his disability walks with leg braces and crutches. Max (Elden Henson) is an over-sized, yet, good-natured teenage boy suffering from dyslexia who lives with his maternal grandparents Gram (Gena Rowlands) and Grim (Harry Dean Stanton). He has flunked the seventh grade twice and is tormented by Tony "Blade" Fowler (Joseph Perrino), a teenage gang leader. When Kevin is assigned as Max's reading tutor, they form a bond of friendship over the similar circumstances they share, such as both being outcasts and their fathers abandoning them (Kevin's dad heard the words "Birth Defect" and disappeared).

The book is being adapted by Paramount Pictures into a feature film, will possible release in 2015.

Rio Grande

The Rio Grande (/ˈriːoʊ ˈɡrænd/ or /ˈriːoʊ ˈɡrɑːndeɪ/; Spanish: Río Bravo del Norte, pronounced: [ˈri.o ˈβɾaβo ðel ˈnorte] or simply Río Bravo) is one of the principal rivers in the southwest United States and northern Mexico (the other being the Colorado River). The Rio Grande rises from south-central Colorado in the United States and flows to the Gulf of Mexico. Along the way, it forms part of the Mexico–United States border. According to the International Boundary and Water Commission, its total length was 1,896 miles (3,051 km) in the late 1980s, though course shifts occasionally result in length changes. Depending on how it is measured, the Rio Grande is the fourth- or fifth-longest river system in North America.

The river serves as part of the natural border between the U.S. state of Texas and the Mexican states of Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León, and Tamaulipas. A very short stretch of the river serves as the boundary between the U.S. states of Texas and New Mexico. Since the mid–20th century, heavy water consumption of farms and cities along with many large diversion dams on the river has left only 20% of its natural discharge to flow to the Gulf. Near the river's mouth, the heavily irrigated Rio Grande Valley is an important agricultural region. The Rio Grande is one of 19 Great Waters recognized by America's Great Waters Coalition.

Río Grande (Lugo)

River in the province of Lugo, in the autonomous community of Galicia, Spain. It rises in the mountains of Trabada, then north into Lourenzá and finally Ribadeo.

Río Grande (Spanish for "great river") is a river located in Malargüe Department to the south of Mendoza Province, Argentina. It arises in the confluence of the rivers Cobre and Tordillo on the Andes range near Chile and ends at the Colorado River in the Neuquén Province border. Its total length is 275 km. It's the most plentiful river of Mendoza with a flow of 107 m³/s.

The river is from 125 km of Malargüe city and its course is development through volcanic rocks cracks. Around exists untouched earth, but the local government plans to take advantage of its resources.
