The attached video are highlights of our journey and time in Vang Vieng, Laos traveling from Vientiene, Laos. This is our favorite place in Laos, the ultimate adventure travel destination for everyone, no matter if you are couples, families, young people or mature, there is something here for you. We visit the back roads of Vang Vieng to the village of Ban Na Som, and visited caves like the Blue Lagoon(Tham Phu Kham), the Chang Caves(Tham Jang). We share how a place may have a bad reputation, but it can change for the better and become something you never expect.
We share highlights of our next video - Luang Prabang, the night market,the Alms ceremony and the Pak Ou Caves.
About Us:
We are Dorene and Troy, a married, professional couple from Canada, had comfortable, predictable lives. They are in our 40's now, and yearned to move away from what was expected of us, toward a dream that was eating away at us.
Traveling a month of every year together for the last thirteen years wasn't enough.
Work and family life changed drastically, forcing us to seek a new, simpler and happier life. After twelve months of planning, we redesigned our lives by quitting our professional careers in marketing and television and selling everything we own to travel. The next life chapter has now begun; a travel sabbatical with no end date and a life of location independent living.
Now we take our love of travel, videos, and marketing on the road, featuring ‘day in the life stories' and stories about meaningful travel. We travel slowly and live in locations like it's our ‘home away from home' After all, life isn't just about the travel; it's the personal journey!

Vang Vieng (Lao: ວັງວຽງ) is a tourism-oriented town in Laos, located in Vientiane Province about four hours bus ride north of the capital. The town lies on the Nam Song river. The most notable feature of the area is the karst hill landscape surrounding the town.
Vang Vieng was first settled around 1353 as a staging post between Luang Prabang and Vientiane. Originally named Mouang Song after the body of the deceased King Phra Nha Phao of Phai Naam was seen floating down the river, the town was renamed Vang Vieng during French colonial rule in the 1890s. Significant expansion of the town and its infrastructure occurred during the 1964-73 Vietnam War when the US developed an Air Force base and runway that was used by Air America. The airstrip was then called 'Lima site 6'. In more recent times, the town has grown substantially due to the influx of backpackers attracted by the opportunities for adventure tourism in a limestone karst landscape.
Vang Vieng has become a backpacker-oriented town, with the main street featuring guest houses, bars, restaurants, internet cafes, tour agencies and western tourists Attractions of the town include inner tubing and kayaking on the Nam Song River, which is lined with bars selling Beer Lao and Lao-Lao, and equipped with rope swings, zip lines, and large decks for socializing.

We visit the back roads of Vang Vieng to the village of Ban Na Som, and visited caves like the Blue Lagoon(Tham Phu Kham), the Chang Caves(Tham Jang). We share how a place may have a bad reputation, but it can change for the better and become something you never expect.

Easy Go Hostel, Vang Vieng, not exactly the most luxurious place but the friendliest atmosphere! So easy to meet people and really friendly staff. Good location too.

A Pakistani man whose girlfriend threw acid on him when he spurned marrying her has died of his wounds at a local hospital, The Associated Press reported.Police official Bashir Ahmed says the man, Sadaqat Ali died at a government hospital located in the city of Multan, a central Punjab province early Tuesday ...
