The CN Tower was classified as one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers. At 351 metres (1151 ft.), the Wine Cellar is the highest in the world. Created to resemble a typical underground wine cellar, ours features precision climate and humidity controls, redwood racks, double cherry doors, a 9,000 bottle storage capacity and a tasting table.
To ensure that wine is stored in ideal conditions of 13 degrees Celsius (55 degrees F) and 65 percent relative humidity, a 2 1/2 ton, state-of-the-art, water-cooled cooling system was installed in the Cellar's ceiling. This allows us to store one of the most extensive selections in the Toronto area, featuring more than 550 wines from around the world, including top Canadian, French and American labels.

CN Tower
At a height of 553m (1,815ft), the CN Tower is the defining symbol of this lakefront city. On a clear day, it offers stunning views of up to 120km (75 miles) across the surrounding cityscape and Lake Ontario. Glass-fronted elevators (one with a newly installed glass floor) bring visitors to the main section (at an equivalent to 114 storeys high) where a terrifying glass floor enables visitors to stare 342m (1,122ft) straight down. A more leisurely view can be had from the revolving 360 Restaurant on the floor above. Another set of elevators leads to the SkyPod, 33 storeys further up. There is also a group of entertainment venues at the base of the tower, including a motion-simulator ride. A new aquarium is scheduled to open at the base of the tower in July 2013.
Opening Times: Usually from early morning until 2200 or 2300. Opening hours are adjusted seasonally, so visitors should call the tower to check.

Fort York
Fort York harks back to the days when Toronto, then as British as afternoon tea, was named York. As a colony, the city occasionally had to deal with revolutionaries to the south, so Fort York was founded in 1793 to ensure British control of Lake Ontario. Most of the buildings, however, date from 1814 because, during the War of 1812, the evacuating British blew up the gunpowder magazine - an explosion so unexpectedly large that it killed 10 of their own men and 250 advancing Americans, and destroyed a good deal of the fort. Highlights of Fort York include blockhouses, barracks, officers' quarters, costumed staff and period demonstrations.
Opening Times: Daily 1000-1700 (late May-early Sep); Mon-Fri 1000-1600, Sat-Sun 1000-1700 (early Sep-late May). Several short closed periods throughout the year.

Ripley's Aquarium of Canada
Located in the heart of downtown Toronto, next door to the iconic CN Tower, Ripley's Aquarium of Canada -a $130 million facility now under construction - will open this summer. The aquarium will feature more than 13,500 exotic sea and freshwater creatures and a unique 96m-long (315 ft) moving walkway through an tunnel set beneath a shark lagoon and a tropical reef tank.

CN Tower
At a height of 553m (1,815ft), the CN Tower is the defining symbol of this lakefront city. On a clear day, it offers stunning views of up to 120km (75 miles) across the surrounding cityscape and Lake Ontario. Glass-fronted elevators (one with a newly installed glass floor) bring visitors to the main section (at an equivalent to 114 storeys high) where a terrifying glass floor enables visitors to stare 342m (1,122ft) straight down. A more leisurely view can be had from the revolving 360 Restaurant on the floor above. Another set of elevators leads to the SkyPod, 33 storeys further up. There is also a group of entertainment venues at the base of the tower, including a motion-simulator ride. A new aquarium is scheduled to open at the base of the tower in July 2013.
Opening Times: Usually from early morning until 2200 or 2300. Opening hours are adjusted seasonally, so visitors should call the tower to check.

Fort York harks back to the days when Toronto, then as British as afternoon tea, was named York. As a colony, the city occasionally had to deal with revolutionaries to the south, so Fort York was founded in 1793 to ensure British control of Lake Ontario. Most of the buildings, however, date from 1814 because, during the War of 1812, the evacuating British blew up the gunpowder magazine - an explosion so unexpectedly large that it killed 10 of their own men and 250 advancing Americans, and destroyed a good deal of the fort. Highlights of Fort York include blockhouses, barracks, officers' quarters, costumed staff and period demonstrations.
Opening Times: Daily 1000-1700 (late May-early Sep); Mon-Fri 1000-1600, Sat-Sun 1000-1700 (early Sep-late May). Several short closed periods throughout the year.

Located in the heart of downtown Toronto, next door to the iconic CN Tower, Ripley's Aquarium of Canada -a $130 million facility now under construction - will open this summer. The aquarium will feature more than 13,500 exotic sea and freshwater creatures and a unique 96m-long (315 ft) moving walkway through an tunnel set beneath a shark lagoon and a tropical reef tank.

Auf dem CN-Tower richtet sich der Blick automatisch zuerst auf die Skyline der Downtown mit den mächtigen Hochhäusern der Banken, Versicherungen und Consulting Unternehmen. In diesem Bereich befinden sich aber auch das Parlamentgebäude, das neue Rathaus und das Universitätsgelände. Weiter westlich ist die Chinatown und der Kensington Market zu erkennen. An der Südseite liegt der Ontario See mit den Toronto Islands, ein Naherholungsgebiet mit Stränden, Wassersportmöglichkeiten, Marinas, Restaurants und kleinen Vergnügungsstätten. Sehr gut ist das Historic Fort York von 1783 zu erkennen, das als Ursprung Torontos gilt.
Die größte Attraktion auf der Aussichtsplattform ist der Glasboden. Auch wenn der Verstand sagt, dass er sicher ist, so ist es doch ein seltsames Gefühl, auf den leicht schwingenden Glasplatten zu stehen und den Blick 346 m abwärts schweifen zu lassen.

The Lake Ontario with the Toronto Islands, a recreational area with beaches, water sports, marinas, restaurants and small amusement parks is located on the south side. Very good to recognize is The Historic Fort York - built in 1783 - it is regarded as an origin of Toronto.
The major attraction on the observation deck is the glass floor. Even if the mind says that you are safe, it's a strange feeling to stand on the lightly swinging glass plates and let your eyes look down 1,135 ft.
But it goes even higher on the Sky Pod with an altitude of 1,464.9 ft. From here you have a beautiful view on the Rogers Centre, a multipurpose stadium for 54,000 spectators. Until 2005, the Rogers Centre was named as SkyDome. Depending on the weather conditions the roof of the Rogers Centre can be within 20 min.
From this perspective the city looks almost like a model landscape.

I literally dangled 1100 feet off a building!!! It was terrifying, exhilarating, fun and nerve wrecking all at once. I'm not a huge risk taker but I am getting braver and more daring every year :)
I think it's important to challenge your comfort zones and do things that scare you every now and then. If you're heading to Toronto in the near future, do not miss out on this opportunity!
