Two South Carolina police officers involved in the fatal shooting of a drug suspect will not be charged with a crime. The shooting happened last November as Cayce Police Department officers were attempting to arrest a man on drug related charges.
Dash cam video of the incident shows the suspect resisting arrest before pulling out a handgun and shooting one of the officers.

ORO VALLEY, ARIZONA — This is one of the rare occasions when video footage captures police officers doing everything by the book.
Bodycam footage, from Oro Valley PD in Arizona, was taken late last September as officers chased a suspect from a traffic stop and then tried to execute a search warrant on his residence.
It starts with motorcycle police arriving at the residence before taking up positions as other officers prepare to serve the warrant.
The officers then remove the outer metal door and start to knock in the inner door with a battering ram.
As the officer smashes the door in, the suspect inside, 41-year old Steven Stribling, fires a single shot before Detective Zachary Young quickly responds, firing off three rounds in quick succession.
The officers then take cover and wait with their guns trained on the residence.
Around 30 seconds later you can just about see the injured Stribling crawl out of the house from where he is taken away for treatment.
No officers were injured and Detective Young was later cleared of any wrongdoing following an investigation by the Pima County Attorney's office.
Stribling, meanwhile, has been charged with multiple felonies, including attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault on an officer and drug offences.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department on Saturday identified the suspect shot and wounded during a gun battle with deputies the previous day.
Hector Javier Puga, 26, remained hospitalized in fair condition, the Sheriff’s Department stated in a news release.
Puga had allegedly pointed a gun at deputies before being shot following a dangerous pursuit through South Los Angeles residential streets late Friday afternoon.
After being hit in the upper torso by gunfire, Puga walked toward a nearby residence and collapsed on the front porch, his white-T-shirt stained with blood, aerial video showed.
About an hour later, he surrendered to deputies and was taken into custody without further incident, according to the release.
The Sheriff’s Department later said that Puga had been wanted in connection with a March 8 kidnapping in which he was accused of forcing his wife into a vehicle at gunpoint in the city of Paramount, officials said.
The woman managed to escape after he stopped at her’s mother’s house so she could use the bathroom, according to the release.
Deputies saw Puga’s vehicle Friday and began pursuing him after he failed to stop, the release stated.
An investigation into the incident was ongoing, the department said.

Las Vegas Metro police held a press conference in which they released additional information on the deadly shootings of Branden Hughes and his mother, Felicia Wimberly-Hughes. They also disclosed additional information about the shooting death of Metro K9 Nicky. The shooting took place last Thursday on Fast Elk Street, in the northwest Valley.
Metro Undersheriff Kevin McMahill reported that Nicky was struck one time by a shot fired from a Metro officer rather than suspect James Craig Simpson, 31.
Police provided body camera video that shows Metro Officer Abudhabi Lewis pleading with Simpson to step away from his handgun.
McMahill said Simpson continued to look at officers while keeping an eye on his firearm.
Nicky was then deployed by his handler, Sgt. Eric Kerns. When Simpson saw the dog coming, he began running and fired a shot at officers.
“The officers recognized the threat and fired their weapons at Simpson,” McMahill said.
McMahill said Nicky latched on to Simpson but couldn’t bring him to the ground. Simpson then fired at Kerns, and Kerns and other officers returned fire. Simpson was struck six times and fell to the ground. Nicky was struck once.
“As I sit here today, it is unknown which officer’s round struck K9 Nicky. Simpson sustained several gunshot wounds during the exchange of gunfire, leaving him paralyzed,” McMahill said.
McMahill said Simpson remains in critical condition at University Medical Center but has been stabilized. He further said Simpson is unable to speak to officers about the incident.
McMahill said Simpson has a criminal history that involves robbery and domestic violence charges.

Surveillance footage from a deadly shootout involving members of two biker gangs at a Waco, Texas restaurant was made public Thursday, forcing the city's police department to deny it had released the footage. Nine people died and 20 were injured during the shooting, which authorities say arose from an apparent confrontation between the Bandidos and the Cossacks motorcycle clubs. The Waco Tribune-Herald reported that the footage is consistent with early police reports that described an array of weapons stashed all over the Twin Peaks restaurant, including in kitchen stoves and toilets, by bikers attempting to flee the scene. The footage, also shows various gang members hiding under tables and firing guns during the melee. Khan, head of the ATS, attacked the Lokhandwala Complex on 16 November 1991, with a force of around 400 armed policemen. Dreaded gangster Maya Dolas was hiding in the complex. Stribling, meanwhile, has been charged with multiple felonies, including attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault on an officer and drug offences.

The Sheriff’s Department later said that Puga had been wanted in connection with a March 8 kidnapping in which he was accused of forcing his wife into a vehicle at gunpoint in the city of Paramount, officials said.
The woman managed to escape after he stopped at her’s mother’s house so she could use the bathroom, according to the release.
Deputies saw Puga’s vehicle Friday and began pursuing him after he failed to stop, the release stated.
An investigation into the incident was ongoing, the department said.

Nicky was then deployed by his handler, Sgt. Eric Kerns. When Simpson saw the dog coming, he began running and fired a shot at officers.
“The officers recognized the threat and fired their weapons at Simpson,” McMahill said.
McMahill said Nicky latched on to Simpson but couldn’t bring him to the ground. Simpson then fired at Kerns, and Kerns and other officers returned fire. Simpson was struck six times and fell to the ground. Nicky was struck once.
“As I sit here today, it is unknown which officer’s round struck K9 Nicky. Simpson sustained several gunshot wounds during the exchange of gunfire, leaving him paralyzed,” McMahill said.
McMahill said Simpson remains in critical condition at University Medical Center but has been stabilized. He further said Simpson is unable to speak to officers about the incident.
McMahill said Simpson has a criminal history that involves robbery and domestic violence charges.

“The officers recognized the threat and fired their weapons at Simpson,” McMahill said.
McMahill said Nicky latched on to Simpson but couldn’t bring him to the ground. Simpson then fired at Kerns, and Kerns and other officers returned fire. Simpson was struck six times and fell to the ground. Nicky was struck once.
“As I sit here today, it is unknown which officer’s round struck K9 Nicky. Simpson sustained several gunshot wounds during the exchange of gunfire, leaving him paralyzed,” McMahill said.
McMahill said Simpson remains in critical condition at University Medical Center but has been stabilized. He further said Simpson is unable to speak to officers about the incident.
McMahill said Simpson has a criminal history that involves robbery and domestic violence charges.

Albuquerque, NM - Albuquerque police have released lapel (Bodycam) video of a officer-involved shooting.
The video lasts about four minutes and came from Officer Matthew Fisher. It shows the officer running down San Mateo Boulevard after John Edward Okeefe and firing several shots.
Fisher can be heard shouting for Okeefe to show his hands as he gets out of his patrol car on San Mateo. Fisher runs along the sidewalk shouting for Okeefe to stop.
"Show me your hands! Show me your hands! Albuquerque police! Stop! Stop! Stop! Show me your hands! Stop," Fisher yells.
It’s tough to see Okeefe in the footage, but it appears he fires several shots at Fisher. The video shows Fisher stopping to fire several shots in Okeefe’s direction.
Other officers arrive on scene and swarm behind the bushes where the body is. Fisher appears rattled.
Police said Okeefe was armed with a gun and was wearing body armor. Investigators believe those items were stolen from the home of a Bernalillo County sheriff's deputy.

The other officer involved, Michael Oates, was unable to turn his lapel camera on prior to the incident. Police said that's because the situation escalated rapidly.
It's been a difficult start to the year for Albuquerque police. Two officers have been shot in the line of duty, and the officers in this case were also fired upon. These incidents took place in a two-week period.

EL CAJON - August 21, 2011 - An El Cajon Police officer is shot right in front of a news camera. The entire incident is caught on camera including the shots fired, officer rescue, SWAT standoff, house fire, helicopter water drops and more.
The suspect, Kevin Collier, shot his 1-year old daughter and his mother-in-law. Police arrived and surrounded the home (including our photog). Officers were then met with gunfire from the suspect who had a rifle. Officer Jarred Slocum was leaning over the bed of a pickup truck with only his head exposed. He was struck in the left temple and the bullet exited the rear of his skull. He was NOT shot in the neck, as it appears and was initially perceived in the heat of the moment. The suspect then set the house on fire before shooting himself. The fire department could not approach the home because officers could not confirm if the suspect was dead or not. Firefighters are not going to walk up to a home with the possibility of a man inside with a rifle. Officers requested Mercy Air for transport, but instead took the wounded officer by ground in a patrol car as it would be quicker. This was on a dead-end street, so the rescue of having to pass the line of fire was incredibly risky. A gas line explodes at one point (bluish smoke). SWAT set up and worked with the fire department to help slow the rate of spread of the fire. Two helicopters began water drops, which is unheard of for a structure fire, but it was the most practical and safest way to control the flames. Officer Slocum is doing well but has decided to "medically retire" from the El Cajon Police Department, move, and go back to college. The officer who was with him, Officer Tim McFarland, was a rookie at the time and was being trained by Slocum. Officer Slocum's wound, although very serious, had very very little blood loss. So for those appauled that none of us applied pressure, quite frankly it wasn't necessary and it's easy to judge what one would do while sitting behind a computer. The bigger threat was the active shooter vs only a handful of officers. And for all you anti-cop commenters, keep in mind, officers are still people with families. The people in this video are heroes who were up against a crazed man set on death and destruction.
Some important points:
* The officer was shot in the left temple, not the neck. Period. I was there. I shot the video. It looks like he was shot in the neck, but he was in shock and holding the wrong area. You can see the exit wound in the back of his head in the video. See the followup interview with both officers if you still don't believe he was shot in the temple.
* The officer was actually shot 1/2 second before the video begins. Enable HD and pause the first few frames. You see him getting up from the chain link fence. He was thrown back from the force of the shot and bounced off the springy fence. He then gets up and returns fire.

Happy Thanksgiving! In this video, we go on a patrol that defies federalism, and exercise a poorly defined jurisdiction as we respond to callouts that don't make any sense in and around Fort Zancudo. The main event comes when a massive shootout breaks out near one of the hangars, one of my soldiers falls off the truck (he was the one who refuses to get inside) and we have to go back in to rescue him. We quickly realize that we are outgunned, and decide to hop in a fighter jet to try to bombard the bad guys from the air. We try to escape in a Titan, except somehow, one of my guys FALLS OUT OF THE PLANE. Since nobody gets left behind, we try to land and pick him up, but while trying to land an enemy steals a jet, and starts attacking us with missiles, shooting us down. I try to strategically wait for the opportune moment to shoot homing rockets at them, but keep coming up short. Eventually, I have to get in a fighter jet of my own, and we have a proper dogfight on our hands. Also, I didn't forget to go check out what the deal is with those big slides from the last video. Enjoy!
