April 7, 2016. Pope Francis will travel to the Greek island of Lesbos on Saturday, April 16th. It will be a one day trip to visit the refugees arriving in the Greek coast fleeing war and violence. He will be accompanied the Ecumenical Patriarch, Bartholomew and Archbishop of Athens and all Greece, Ieronymos II.

Mother Angelica, foundress of the EWTN Global Catholic Network, died at 5 p.m. CDT, Easter Sunday, March 27, surrounded by the Poor Clare Nuns of Perpetual Adoration of Our Lady of the Angels Monastery in Hanceville, Alabama. She spoke in the media about God and the Catholic Church in a new way: On August 15 1981, she launched EWTN into the homes of 60,000 viewers for four hours a day. Today, it has grown to encompass over 230 million viewers in over 140 countries. In addition to the Eternal Word Television Network and Our Lady of the Angels Monastery, Mother Angelica also founded the Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word, a religious community of men based in Irondale.

March 22 , 2016. On Holy Thursday, Pope Francis will wash the feet of 12 refugees, some of them non-Catholics. It will be at the Reception Center for Asylum Seekers located in Castelnuovo di Porto, just 18 miles north of the Vatican.

March 14, 2016. On Monday, a new public hearing will be taking place in regards to Vatileaks 2, and there will probably be an interrogation of the accused. This will be taking place at 3:30pm, local Rome time. Indeed, the main person accused of leaking classified documents, the Spanish priest Lucio Ángel Vallejo Balda is back in prison for violating house arrest and "communicating with the outside.” The priest secretly received a mobile phone with which some suspect could destroy evidence.
