Van Zant is an American musical duo composed of brothers Donnie Van Zant and Johnny Van Zant. Both are brothers of the late Ronnie Van Zant, former lead singer for the Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. Johnny became the lead vocalist for the reunited Lynyrd Skynyrd in 1987, and Donnie was also the leader and vocalist of .38 Special.
Initially a Southern rock band, Van Zant first recorded in the 1980s on Geffen Records before disbanding. Johnny and Donnie re-established Van Zant in 1998 to record two albums for CMC International, switching their focus to country music in 2005, with two more albums on Columbia Records as a duo. The duo's first Columbia album, Get Right with the Man, produced a Top Ten country hit in "Help Somebody."
Johnny recorded as a member of the 1980s southern rock band The Johnny Van Zant Band which released albums in 1980, 1981 and 1982. The band shortened its name to Van Zant for the release of its fourth album in 1985, the eponymous Van Zant on Geffen Records. This album saw chart success with "You've Got to Believe in Love" and "I'm a Fighter", both of which peaked on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. However, this band did not include Donnie and was soon disbanded.
Paige Michelle VanZant (born March 26, 1994) is an American mixed martial artist who competes in the Women's Strawweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). A professional competitor since 2012, VanZant was a fighter in Invicta FC before moving over to the Ultimate Fighting Championship. She is currently ranked #8 in the UFC Strawweight division.
VanZant grew up in Dayton, Oregon. Her parents owned a dance studio, and she was brought up dancing ballet, jazz, and hip hop for over 13 years. As a child, she appeared in a mop commercial for Bissell. VanZant was considered a tomboy while growing up, and loved the outdoors. Her hobbies included riding dirtbikes, fishing, and hunting. In high school, VanZant was regularly bullied by a group of girls. She has noted this experience as one of the reasons she likes being a martial artist and having the ability to defend herself. She has modeled for Nike and Columbia Sportswear. Her father nicknamed her "12 gauge" because of VanZant's love of shooting and hunting.
A music video or song video is a short film integrating a song and imagery, produced for promotional or artistic purposes. Modern music videos are primarily made and used as a marketing device intended to promote the sale of music recordings. There are also cases where songs are used in tie in marketing campaigns that allow them to become more than just a song. Tie ins and merchandising could be used in toys are marketing campaigns for food and other products. Although the origins of music videos date back to musical short films that first appeared in the 1920s, they came into prominence in the 1980s when MTV based their format around the medium. Prior to the 1980s, these works were described by various terms including "illustrated song", "filmed insert", "promotional (promo) film", "promotional clip", "promotional video", "song video", "song clip" or "film clip". Since the creation and increased popularity of YouTube, mainstream artists now promote new music videos by releasing trailers of short promos on the site for their upcoming song and music video. Consequentially, YouTube has been converted into a social media platform for celebrities and artists to market themselves to their fans and audiences.
Fox UFC (also referred to as Fox UFC Saturday for broadcasts on Fox or UFC Fight Night for broadcasts on other Fox-owned properties) is the branding used for telecasts of mixed martial art competitions from the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) that are produced by Fox Sports. Previously, UFC on Fox was also used as a blanket title for UFC events aired on the Fox network, although since the concurrent launch of Fox Sports 1 and rebranding of Fuel TV as Fox Sports 2 in August 2013, all live UFC broadcasts on Fox-owned networks (including preliminaries, UFC Fight Night and The Ultimate Fighter Finale) have since used the name.
On August 18, 2011, the Ultimate Fighting Championship reached a seven-year broadcast agreement with Fox Sports, giving it the rights to televise matches sanctioned by the promotion through 2018, ending the UFC's relationship with cable channel Spike. Through the agreement, Fox Sports would air four live events per year in either prime time or late night, as well as other UFC programming (including UFC Fight Night, Road to the Octagon and The Ultimate Fighter) on its various broadcast and cable properties, including the Fox network, FX and Fuel TV. The deal was significant as it marked the first time that the Ultimate Fighting Championship would televise its events on broadcast television (previously, the promotion's fight cards were exclusive to cable and satellite networks and pay-per-view).
John Roy "Johnny" Van Zant (born February 27, 1959) is an American musician and the current lead vocalist of Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. He is the younger brother of the late Lynyrd Skynyrd co-founder and former lead vocalist Ronnie Van Zant, and of the .38 Special founder, Donnie Van Zant.
Van Zant performed during the 1970s with his first band, The Austin Nickels Band. They later changed their name to The Johnny Van Zant Band releasing their debut solo album, No More Dirty Deals, in 1980. Original members of The Johnny Van Zant Band consisted of Van Zant on lead vocals, Robbie Gay on guitar, Danny Clausman, on bass, Erik Lundgren on lead guitar, Robbie Morris, drums and Joan Hecht (previously Joan Cusumano) and Nancy Henderson on background vocals. Van Zant released three more solo albums between 1981 and 1985, before taking a break from the music business.
He became lead vocalist for the reunited Lynyrd Skynyrd in 1987, and continues to record and perform with them today. He released another solo album, Brickyard Road, in 1990, which featured the popular title track, which was a #1 hit on the U.S. Mainstream Rock Tracks chart for three weeks. He also records and performs with his brother, Donnie, as Van Zant since 1998.

READ THIS! This song is about Johnny Van Zant's older brother Ronnie, who died in a plane crash in 1977. Ronnie was the lead singer of Lynyrd Skynyrd; Johnny took over after his death. SOME FACTS: "The three of us walking down that road" refers to the Van Zant brothers (Johnny, Ronnie, Donnie). Brickyard Road is where Ronnie, his wife Judy, and his daughter Melody lived when he was killed on October 20,1977. This makes reference to "Freebird," the Lynyrd Skynyrd classic that came to symbolize Ronnie Van Zant after his death.

This is great AOR album by Johnny Van Zant, the brother of Donnie and the late Ronnie. This album is a lot different from Lynryd Skynrd and 38 Special which has an Melodic Rock to it and late 80's Hard Rock tune to it. The best tracks on this CD are; Midnight Sensation, She's Out With a Gun, You've Got to Believe in Love, Does a Fool Ever Learn and Lonely Girls. Overall this is a great album and I would recommend it. Tracklist 1. Midnight Sensation 0:00 2. She's Out With a Gun 3:44 3. I'm a Fighter 7:23 4. You've Got to Believe in Love 12:01 5. (This song is actually called "Friend," but metrolyrics has a spaz when you try to post these lyrics because they don't think you're allowed to have 2 songs called "Friend")
Friend
Since I can remember when
Seems like forever
We've been together
Hey how long has it been?
Friend
I hope you know that you're my hero
Never once thought of yourself
Always there to help
Man you're something else
In the dark you were the light
When the truth was hard to find
When I needed someone to call me on it
You called me on it everytime
Through all the good through all the bad
I knew you always had my back
The best part of being who I am
Is that I get to call you...
Friend
Some got 'em by the hundreds
But when that thunder comes a rumblin'
We're off and runnin'
Makes me glad that I got
GOOD
Friend
God knows that you've had your moments too
Sometimes I wonder if you knew
How it meant the world to me
To get to be a friend to you
And when I stumble and I slip
You never let me quit
Always knew what to say, what I needed to hear, when I needed to hear it
Through all the good through all the bad
I knew you always had my back
The best part of being who I am
Is that I get to call you...
My Old Friend
Yeah
In the dark you were the light
When the truth was hard to find
When I needed someone to call me on it
You called me on it everytime
Through all the good through all the bad
I knew you always had my back
The best part of being who I am
Is that I get to call you..
Friend
When I look back on this crazy life
At least I know I got one thing right
If all I ever get to do
Is get to call you...
My Friend
