The year is 1997. Your hand twitches in anticipation over the crisp $20 bill in the pocket of your Mudd super-wide flare jeans as you enter that holiest of sacred mall ground: Claire's Accessories. If you grew up in the 90’s and early 00’s, you probably spent the majority of your mornings untagling these hair accessories from the wadded-up mess they became in your vanity drawer.
Work uniforms.  Stuffy, bland, office attire.  When it comes to the things we hate about our jobs, itchy sweaters and ill-fitting blouses are right up there with "sitting through meetings that should have been emails" and that whole little detail about getting paid 77% of what our male colleagues earn. When the clock strikes five and you’re a free woman, you just want to run out into the streets and tear off your stuffy work attire – but wait! You need a feminist AF t-shirt to reveal when you rip open your starched white Ann Taylor blouse! Gurl, I got you.
Photo by Katie Auda “Are you sure?” That was Ashley Nell Tipton’s first reaction to hearing Heidi Klum announce her as the winner of the 14th season of Project Runway last November. “I was standing up there on stage and my whole body is locked and I can just feel my heart pounding,” she says over the phone from her home base in San Diego. “I feel like you could almost see it pounding out of my chest.” Like most high-achievers, the 24-year-old graduate of SD’s Fashion Careers College didn’t quite grasp her big break.
According to believers, our birth signs can help us better understand our personalities, relationship tendencies, and even our career choices. But they can also be the reason why we prefer certain clothing in our closets. We consulted with astrology experts Tali and Ophira Edut, aka the AstroTwins, to learn how to make our wardrobes more in sync with the zodiac. The next time you can’t decide what to wear, take some tips from the heavenly bodies to make your body look more heavenly.   Iris Apfel for MAC Cosmetics The industry of modeling isn’t just for the wrinkle-free faces of youth anymore. In fact, in the past few years, more and more high fashion designers are turning to the older generation to showcase their brands. Why is this?Dubbed the “Twiggy effect” by researchers, studies have found that women over the age of 50 aren’t trading in their skinny jeans for ill-fitting cotton trousers just yet.
Forearms: the final frontier.  Or are they? The Daily Mail asked the pivotal question, “Should YOU be removing all the hair from your forearms?” According to Mark Prager, Professor of Evolutionary Biology, YES! He tells The Daily Mail:“While a man can have as many babies with as many women as he wants, a woman can have only a certain number throughout her lifetime. She is genetically programmed to make herself sexually desirable, to show off her worth...Removing all hair, a procedure associated with cleanliness and eliminating parasites from the skin, is one way to do this.
When it comes to strong, confident, assertive women with naturally striking beauty, not many can fairly rival that of the great, late Lauren Bacall. Lauren was an original Hollywood starlet in every sense of the term. With peers such as Katharine Hepburn, Rita Hayworth, Ava Gardner, Marilyn Monroe and Grace Kelly, Lauren cemented her place among the leading ladies of the Hollywood Golden Age, undoubtedly the most glamorous period of all time. Her out-of-this-world visage was not the only enviable asset Lauren Bacall possessed.
Despite her name, Lady Crappo's nails are anything but! For three years, she's been creating and blogging about nail art as a way to stop herself from biting her nails. Since then, she has turned her bad vice into nail paradise. Lady Crappo, a.k.a. Emily, has gained over 60,000 Tumblr followers, has been featured on the Tumblr Radar five times and has had a tutorial published in Nail It Magazine. "I love how impermanent nail art is an art form-- it frees me up from worrying too much or overthinking what it is I'm painting," she told BUST.
When the blood is coming out of your wherever, get over those red blues and bleed all over Ted Cruz! When the tampon’s failin', spill on Sarah Palin, and the next time you shed your vaginal wall, this one's on Rand Paul.  Okay, I'm done, but Cute Fruit Undies aren't. The Washington-based Etsy shop has turned its super absorbant undies into vaginal vengence by selling period panties with the faces of all those fucking politicians who can't get their heads out of their asses and their opinions out of our vaginas.
When it comes to products like nail polish and shoes, “Nude” tends to mean just one color: a pink-toned beige. But not everyone has skin that color, and women of color are so often left out when it comes to trying out the nude trend. (If you’re not familiar with the trend, the idea is that wearing shoes that match your skin color will make your legs seem longer.) If you want shoes — or a Band-Aid — that blends in with your skin, you’re usually out of luck if you aren’t white. Luxury shoe brand Christian Louboutin has set out to change that.
