Plot: It started with an act of terrorism: a dirty bomb -a radioactive attack on American soil that completely devastated the American mid-west and left millions dead or dying. Immediately our government looked to overseas threats -Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan... North Korea... but then the truth came. The attack was not carried out by foreign operatives, but by a coordinated effort of domestic terrorist. America was under attack by its own citizens. The government moved quickly, and with one fell swoop they seized complete control of the country, closing our borders, establishing a curfew, implementing a special police force, and regulating all aspects of our lives. They took control of the internet. Implemented a military draft, took away our firearms, and restricted all air travel. Democrats and Republicans united, and passed a law to give the government complete emergency control for the duration of the crisis. They called this law the United States Security Enforcement Act. It's been nearly 10 years and martial law is still in effect. Unemployment is at 38%. All citizens are tracked through their digital devices. All businesses are owned by the government. Special government police troops patrol the streets, seeking out and detaining suspected terrorist. The population lives in fear. We are prisoners in our own country, held hostage by our own government. Many of us now believe the government was directly responsible for the attacks in the mid-west that killed so many. They used our fear to seize control. The general population starves while the corporate government grows fat. People began to take to the streets, protesting, demanding the truth. The government fought back, detaining and executing thousands in a purge of suspected insurgents. What began as civil unrest may soon become a full scale civil war. This is America. The time is now. My name is Edenfall_318, I'm a journalist, and for the first time since the collapse of America, the truth will be told. This is my story...

With the help of a worldly-wise nightclub singer, she invents her alter-ego Victor, a female impersonator who is hired to sing at a fashionable night spot. Quotes:
Labisse: If you ever come back, I will have you thrown out.::Toddy: Don't make it sound like such a threat. Being thrown out of a place like this is significantly better than being thrown out of a leper colony.
[Trying to explain why she can't pass for a man]::Victoria: Men have Adam's apples.::Toddy: So do some women.::Victoria: Name one.::Toddy: Nana Lanu.::Victoria: Nana Lanu, who's she?::Toddy: The last woman I slept with.::Victoria: When was that?::Toddy: The night before the morning I decided to become a homosexual.
Victoria: How long have you been a homosexual?::Toddy: How long have you been a soprano?::Victoria: Since I was 12.::Toddy: I was a late bloomer.
King Marchand: I don't care if you are a man.::[kisses Victoria]::Victoria: I'm... not a man.::King Marchand: I still don't care.
Toddy: Oh, god... there's nothing more inconvenient than an old queen with a head cold.
Victoria: You know, pretending to be a man does have its disadvantages.::[Victoria goes into the bathroom, leaving Toddy alone in bed]::Toddy: [wistfully] My dear Count, you just said a cotton pickin' mouthful.
Chorus Boy [#1]: [watching "Victor' rehearse] He's fantastic.::Chorus Boy [#2]: He's a phony.::Admirer at rehearsal: What do you mean?::Chorus Boy [#2]: If he's a Polish count, I'm Greta Garbo.::Admirer at rehearsal: [cooing] Well, Greta, whatever he is, I think he's divine.
Toddy: I know what you're thinking... and you ought to be ashamed of yourself.
Toddy: Thank you, thank you, you're most kind. In fact, you're every kind. I see we have a celebrity with us tonight. Miss Simone Kallisto, star of stage, screen, and an occasional circus. Take a bow, darling.::Simone Kallisto: Up yours, cherie.::Toddy: And speaking of the circus, aren't you Richard Dinardo, the well-known trapeze artist?::Richard DiNardo: [dangerously] Careful, Toddy.::Madame President: You're not really funny, y'know. So why don't ya just piss off?::Toddy: [to her husband] You. You ought to be ashamed of yourself, bringing your sweet old mother into a place like this.
[Victoria is crying & Toddy is holding her]::Toddy: God, there'd been times I'd given my soul to cry like that.::Victoria: [sobs] I hate it!::Toddy: You wouldn't if you couldn't do it anymore.

Quotes:
Peso: Do you like me?::Tom Herrera: You're a hero to every kid in the territory. But I never saw much sense in putting a thief on a pedestal.::Peso: I had always hoped that you would follow in my footsteps. But, no, you had to take after your mother...law and order!
Tom Herrera: I'm sorry about your father.::Nancy Dekker: He died the way he was born...the way he lived.::Tom Herrera: No tears?::Nancy Dekker: Later.::Tom Herrera: He taught you well, Nancy.::Nancy Dekker: He taught me without teaching. That's the best way.
Tom Herrera: All right, Peso, you can stay.::Peso: Thanks, Tom.::Tom Herrera: But I'll take your guns.::Peso: Oh, there's no reason for that, boy. My guns? Why I'd be chilly without 'em. I might even catch cold.
Fanny Webson: So if you ever get to San Francisco, look us up.::Tom Herrera: I might.::Fanny Webson: We'll have at least a dozen ways for a man to lose his money and enjoy the fact that he lost it.
Peso: There are two things I hate. One is a careless man; the other is a careful woman.
Peso: What's-a matter? You sick?::Nancy Dekker: No, jealous. How do you fight a woman like that?::Peso: The same as you would fight any other fight. Pick your position, keep the wind at your back and shoot to kill.

Quotes:
Libby's Aunt: [comforting Libby, who's crying about Woodrow's return] Well, that's the war for you. It's always hard on women. Either they take your men away and never send them back at all; or they send them back unexpectedly just to embarrass you. No consideration at all.
[after nothing has gone right]::Committee Chairman: Oh death where is thy sting?
Woodrow Lafayette Pershing Truesmith: I knew the Marines could do almost anything, but I never knew they could do anything like this.::Bugsy: You got no idea!
Mayor Everett D. Noble: She forgets her lines 'til rigor mortis sets in!
Sgt. Heppelfinger: These flapjacks might taste better with a little butter on 'em Mrs. T.::Mrs. Truesmith: Maybe you haven't heard Sgt. but there's a war on.
Sgt. Heppelfinger: They say opportunity's only got one hair on his head and you gotta grab it while it's going by and dog it down or you mightn't get another chance.
Town Councilman: Let's get down to business. The trouble with our party is everybody talks too long all the time.::Doc Bissell: That's the trouble with all parties.
Libby: Do you remember when we used to come here in the cool of the evening?::Woodrow Lafayette Pershing Truesmith: Naturally.::Libby: I thought maybe you'd forgotten - so much can happen in a year.::Woodrow Lafayette Pershing Truesmith: So much can happen in a day!::Libby: I suppose so. Were you surprised when they nominated you for mayor?::Woodrow Lafayette Pershing Truesmith: Surprised is not the word for it.
Sgt. Heppelfinger: We're just a little bit short of cash, see...::Cafe Owner: Uh, uh.::Sgt. Heppelfinger: ...or I'd never make you this proposition.::Cafe Owner: Ho, ho.::Sgt. Heppelfinger: I was going to save it for the museum, see, but when you're out on a limb you gotta make sacrifices, that's all. You follow me?::Cafe Owner: I'm ahead of you.::Sgt. Heppelfinger: I'm gonna let you in on the ground floor of something very, very rare. You remember when General Yamatoho committed hari-kari?::Cafe Owner: Possibly.::Sgt. Heppelfinger: I happened to be very close by, see.::[winks, indicates he pulled out one of Yamatoho's teeth and shows the very large elk's tooth he got from one of the other Marines]::Cafe Owner: Big man, wasn't he?::Sgt. Heppelfinger: Immense! This is one of the rarest mementos...::Cafe Owner: [as he pulls a large Japanese flag out of his coat] You wouldn't like to buy the flag they buried him in, would you? I could let you have it very reasonable.::[pulls out another flag]::Cafe Owner: I have it in several sizes.::[begins to pull other items out of his coat pockets]::Cafe Owner: MacArthur's suspenders! The first bullet that landed in Pearl Harbor... you can take your pick. A piece of a Japanese submarine.::[turns the piece of metal over]::Cafe Owner: If you look at it this way it becomes a German submarine.::[turns the piece again]::Cafe Owner: And this way it's a piece of a shell that just missed Montgomery! Here we have the seat of Rommel's pants. And last, but not least, we have a button from Hitler's coat... although that one I don't personally believe.::Sgt. Heppelfinger: Wise guy.
Sgt. Heppelfinger: It's an honor to meet you, kid. What's your name?::Woodrow Lafayette Pershing Truesmith: Woodrow Lafayette Pershing Truesmith. Go ahead and laugh.::Sgt. Heppelfinger: That ain't anything to laugh at to anyone who knows anything.
