Oleic acid

Oleic acid is a fatty acid that occurs naturally in various animal and vegetable fats and oils. It is an odorless, colorless oil, although commercial samples may be yellowish. In chemical terms, oleic acid is classified as a monounsaturated omega-9 fatty acid, abbreviated with a lipid number of 18:1 cis-9. It has the formula CH₃(CH₂)₇CH=CH(CH₂)₇COOH. The term "oleic" means related to, or derived from, oil of olive, the oil that is predominantly composed of oleic acid.

Occurrence

Fatty acids (or their salts) do not often occur as such in biological systems. Instead fatty acids like oleic acid occur as their esters, commonly triglycerides, which are the greasy materials in many natural oils. Fatty acids can be obtained via the process of saponification.

Triglycerides of oleic acid compose the majority of olive oil, although there may be less than 2.0% as free acid in virgin olive oil, with higher concentrations making the olive oil inedible. It also makes up 59-75% of pecan oil, 61% of canola oil, 36-67% of peanut oil, 60% of macadamia oil, 20-85% of sunflower oil (the latter in the high oleic variant), 15-20% of grape seed oil, sea buckthorn oil, and sesame oil, and 14% of poppyseed oil. It is abundantly present in many animal fats, constituting 37 to 56% of chicken and turkey fat and 44 to 47% of lard.

CIS (rugby)

CIS was a rugby union side that played matches during 1991 and 1992. The side consisted of members of the Commonwealth of Independent States. The team played four matches, losing all four fixtures. Two matches were played in Moscow, with the other two games being played at away venues.

Due to various circumstances, the CIS did not qualify for the 1991 Rugby World Cup.

"Beautiful" is a song by contemporary Christian music band MercyMe. Written and composed by MercyMe, Dan Muckala, and Brown Bannister, the song was written for the daughters of the band's members. The song's lyrics revolve around self-worth and the love of God. "Beautiful" was released on September 17, 2010 as the second single from MercyMe's 2010 album The Generous Mr. Lovewell.

"Beautiful" received generally mixed to positive reviews from critics and attained success on Christian radio, peaking at the top spot on Billboard magazine's Christian Songs, Christian AC Indicator, Christian AC Monitored, and Soft AC/Inspo charts. "Beautiful" ranked at number 7 on the 2011 year-end Christian Songs chart, as well as at number 10 on the 2011 year-end Hot Christian AC chart.

Background and composition

"Beautiful" was written and composed by the members of MercyMe, Dan Muckala, and Brown Bannister. "Beautiful" was written for the daughters of MercyMe's band members. Lead singer Bart Millard, in an interview with Kevin Davis of New Release Tuesday, stated that "We [MercyMe] wrote the song with our daughters in mind. The band has 15 kids among all of us... Satan targets our girls from a materialistic way, telling them how to act and how to look, what to eat and not to eat", also commenting that "I try to tell my kids all the time that they are perfect and I know my daughters need to get their confidence in themselves from me. The way they want to be treated by men needs to come from me".

Onyx (Pop Evil album)

Onyx is a rock opera and the fourth studio album by Pop Evil. It was released on May 14, 2013. The first single, "Trenches", was released February 28, 2013. The album was available for streaming a day before its official release date. It was produced by Johnny K, mixed by Jay Ruston, and mastered by Paul Logus. Additional vocal production was performed by Dave Bassett. Additional programming was done by Bassett and Matt Doughtery.

The album debuted on the Billboard 200 at No. 39, No. 9 on the Independent Albums chart, with 10,000 copies sold in its first week. It has sold 122,000 copies in the United States as of July 2015.

Beautiful is the sixth full-length studio album by Japanese electropop singer-songwriter Meg, released by Universal J on May 27, 2009 in Japan It was released in two formats: as a CD-only version, and a limited edition CD+DVD version. The first press bonuses for the limited press DVD included four music videos, a photograph collection, two postcards, and special first press packaging, as well as an external bonus, a poster. This album, like Meg's last two albums, is produced by Yasutaka Nakata of capsule.

Information

After the release of her fourth studio album, "Step" Meg was reportedly back in the studio recording new material for future releases. Her 4th single under Universal Music J (13th overall), "Precious," was released on September 17, 2008. Produced by long-time collaborator Yasutaka Nakata, it became her most successful charting single on the Oricon Weekly Charts, charting at the 17th position. Afterward, Meg went on a brief break and recorded her one night show, "Meg Premium Live 'Party'" at the Shibuya-AX concert hall in Shibuya. This would later be released as a live DVD special on February 25, 2009. On December 26, 2008, Meg's Universal website announced her 5th single under Universal Music J (14th overall), "Freak." Described by her website to have a "rockin'" new sound, this single marked a departure from her work with Nakata and she was instead produced by the English band Hadouken!. "Freak" was released February 11, 2009. On April 1, 2009, "Beautiful" was officially announced with track listings and a teaser cover on her official website, and on April 6, 2009, the album was officially announced on her Universal website, complete with covers, full track listings, details, and album samples.
