Richard Lane (or Dick Lane) may refer to:
Richard Lane (3 April 1795 – 25 May 1880) was a distinguished English architect of the early and mid-19th century. Born in London and based in Manchester, he was known in great part for his restrained and austere Greek-inspired classicism. He also designed a few buildings – mainly churches – in the Gothic style. He was also known for masterplanning and designing many of the houses in the exclusive Victoria Park estate.
Not much is known about Lane's early life, but he was born and educated in London, was a Quaker and in 1817, he began studying at the famous École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, and was a pupil of the French architect, Achille Leclère, who made a noted restoration of the Pantheon in 1813.
After Paris, Lane moved to Manchester in 1821, set up practice and was appointed Land Surveyor to the Police Commissioners of Chorlton Row (as was). Much of Lane's work was civic and governmental in nature, and he was commissioned to design a town hall just off Chapel St for the Salford local government in 1825.
Richard Hamilton Lane (OAM)), (1918–2008) was an Australian writer (dramatist and playwright) known particularly for his skillful adaptation of plays and films for radio. He is often called the father of Australian radio drama. His career spanned over 60 years, and he is recognised not only for his writing achievements but for his contribution to the Australian Writers' Guild. He also wrote for television, and was described after his death as "luminary of the Australian radio and television industries".
Richard Lane was born in the Sydney beach suburb of Coogee and went to school in Sydney's northern suburbs at Knox Grammar School in Wahroonga, where "he excelled as an athlete and edited the school magazine".
Lane married a few times, with his last wife being the Australian actor, Lynne Murphy.
Lane's first short story was published while he was still at school, and more of his stories were published in magazines in the following year. However, it was in radio drama, still in its infancy when he started, that he found his vocation. His first radio play was No Escape.

Join Richard Lane, CDBB International Programme Manager, at BIM Show Live 2019 in looking at the drivers behind the rise in demand for UK BIM expertise across the globe and how this increased demand brings export opportunities for UK companies – from large organisations with an international presence to SMEs with expert skills but no export experience to date. Richard will be talking at BIM Show Live 2019 on Thurday 28 January at 14:15. http://www.bimshowlive.co.uk/programme/
"Bass guitar and a cool semi psychedelic remix of 'The World is Upside Down' by Ricky Maymi from The Brian Jonestown Massacre. Equipped with reversed synth vibrato loop and electric sitar. It's my disguised tribute to John Lennon with a dash of social comment., which ironically seems more poetic and relevant in today's world than it did when it first jumped onto the page."
