The toddler's body was discovered by four people in Darebin Creek about 2.45am.

She went missing from Olympic Park in Heidelberg West on Saturday morning.

Victoria Police Senior Constable Paul Turner says the body hasn't been formally identified, but investigators believe it's Sanaya Shaib.

The mother of the missing toddler reportedly told police that a man pushed her to the ground in Heidelberg West before abducting her child and running away.

Channels Nine and Seven reported on Saturday that her mother, Sofina Nikat, ran to her home sobbing and hysterical.

A family member, Habbib Ali, told reporters Ms Nikat was screaming and crying: "Somebody took my child, somebody took my child".

He told Channel Nine: "Whoever has done this, whatever has happened, please, I plead to the public, if anybody has seen anything."
