Claire Danes warns of the perils of travelling with a toddler

Claire Danes has warned of the perils of travelling with a toddler.

The 36-year-old actress is mother to three-year-old Cyrus with husband Hugh Dancy and as busy actors, the couple has commitments in various countries, meaning the little boy is already more well-travelled than many adults.

However, as she appeared on Late Night With Seth Meyers on Monday, Claire warned new father Seth against travelling with a young child.

"The worst point is when they're starting to walk, but they don't have the attention span to watch a show, so they just want to wander the aisles and you just want to rip every hair out of every follicle," she laughed.

Seth, who welcomed son Ashe Olsen into the world last month, joked the prospect is "something to look forward to".

Claire did her best to reassure Seth afterwards though, adding: "But you get past that point!"

One country Cyrus is already particularly familiar with is Germany, after Claire shot her hit series Homeland in the capital, Berlin.

'He went to Kindergarten in Berlin," Claire told Jimmy Fallon on his talk show last December. "He speaks a little German...mostly 'nein'."

Nein means "no" in German, while other words featuring in Cyrus' vocabulary include Guten Appetit, which means "enjoy your meal", and Gesundheit, which translates as "health" and is used after someone sneezes.

Claire, Hugh and Cyrus are now based in New York, where the actress is currently starring in off Broadway play Dry Powder.

They also spend a lot of time in England, as Hugh's family and friends are there.

The couple appear to be happier than ever, and the star recently spoke about how much she appreciates her husband.

"Marriage is wonderful. It's challenging, and it just keeps getting deeper," she previously told NET-A-PORTER.com. "I keep learning more things about him and myself, and that's not always comfortable, but I have this incredible security, and it's a huge asset to have a partnership with someone you trust and admire and want to make out with."
