En Agosto del 1991, con 18 años, Estefanía Gutiérrez Lázaro aprovechaba la ausencia de una profesora en su instituto para irse al baño y realizar una sesión de Ouija con unas amigas.
Era veterana en esta práctica ya que la realizaba tanto con gente como estando sola. El propósito esta vez era poder contactar con el novio fallecido de una de las chicas que había muerto desgraciadamente en un fatídico accidente de tráfico.
En mitad de la sesión de espiritismo una profesora de sustitución entró inesperadamente en el baño. Las chicas tiraron el tablero (rompiendo repentinamente comunicación con esa entidad, algo muy peligroso durante una sesión de espiritismo ) el vaso cayó al suelo, rompiéndose, y saliendo automáticamente ( dicho por testigos ) una especie de extraño humo que entró por los orificios nasales de Estefanía y por su boca.
A partir de ese momento se empiezan a documentar escalofriantes fenómenos paranormales.

José Luís
José Luis Lopes Costa e Silva (born 17 May 1958), known as José Luís, is a Portuguese retired footballer who played as an attacking midfielder.
Club career
Born in Lisbon, José Luís was promoted to hometown's S.L. Benfica's first team at only 18, finishing his first season with 25 games, 20 starts and two goals as the club won the national championship. Until the end of his tenure he was irregularly used by the Eagles, his best years being 1983 to 1985 as he appeared in 57 matches combined – six goals – and won the 1984 league and the following year's Portuguese Cup; he also played the full 90 minutes in the 1982–83 UEFA Cup final's first hand, a 0–1 away loss against R.S.C. Anderlecht (1–2 on aggregate).
Luís left Benfica in the 1987 summer and signed for C.S. Marítimo, competing in a further four top division campaigns and eventually amassing totals in the competition of 283 games and 28 goals. He retired in June 1993 at the age of 35, after two years with A.D. Ovarense in the second level.

Estefanía
Estefanía is a popular Venezuelan telenovela that was produced by and broadcast on Venezuela's Radio Caracas Televisión in 1979. The story idea was conceived by Julio César Marmol and Humberto (Kiko) Olivieri and the plot was based on the government of Marcos Pérez Jiménez. Pierina España and José Luis Rodríguez starred as the main protagonists with Gustavo Rodríguez as the main antagonist. The telenovela was written by and Julio César Marmol, and directed by César Bolívar and Julio César Marmol, the series lasted 208 episodes. It was distributed internationally by Coral International.
Synopsis
In 1957, Venezuela is under a harsh military regime. Estefanía Gallardo is a famous actress who is fighting to save her father who is in jail as a political prisoner in the hands of the ruthless National Security Command led by the bloodthirsty Pedro Escobar. Luis Alberto Seijas is engaged to Ana Maria Escobar, Pedro's daughter. One time, Estefanía helps Luis Alberto escape and there is an instant attraction between them. However, Estefanía is hesitant on pursuing the relationship further due to Luis Alberto's closeness to the regime. What she doesn't know is that he is the leader of the leader of the struggle against the dictatorship going by the alias "El Guácharo".

"La Tortura" (English: "The Torture") is a song by Colombian singer-songwriter Shakira featuring Spanish singer-songwriter Alejandro Sanz for Shakira's sixth studio album Fijación Oral, Vol. 1. It was released on 12 April 2005 by Epic Records as the lead single from the record. The song was written and produced by Shakira, with additional writing and production from Luis F. Ochoa and Lester Mendez, respectively. "La Tortura" is a Latin pop song with prominent influences of reggaeton.
The song achieved large-scale success on different radio and chart formats, becoming the most famous Spanish language track of both singers worldwide and the sixth most successful song in Shakira's career behind "Hips Don't Lie", "Whenever, Wherever", "Underneath Your Clothes", "She Wolf", and "Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)" and the most successful song ever for Alejandro Sanz. En Agosto del 1991, con 18 años, Estefanía Gutiérrez Lázaro aprovechaba la ausencia de una profesora en su instituto para irse al baño y realizar una sesión de Ouija con unas amigas. Era veterana en esta práctica ya que la realizaba tanto con gente como estando sola. El propósito esta vez era poder contactar con el novio fallecido de una de las chicas que había muerto desgraciadamente en un fatídico accidente de tráfico. En mitad de la sesión de espiritismo una profesora de sustitución entró inesperadamente en el baño. Las chicas tiraron el tablero (rompiendo repentinamente comunicación con esa entidad, algo muy peligroso durante una sesión de espiritismo ) el vaso cayó al suelo, rompiéndose, y saliendo automáticamente ( dicho por testigos ) una especie de extraño humo que entró por los orificios nasales de Estefanía y por su boca. A partir de ese momento se empiezan a documentar escalofriantes fenómenos paranormales. En Agosto del 1991, con 18 años, Estefanía Gutiérrez Lázaro aprovechaba la ausencia de una profesora en su instituto para irse al baño y realizar una sesión de Ouija con unas amigas.
Era veterana en esta práctica ya que la realizaba tanto con gente como estando sola. El propósito esta vez era poder contactar con el novio fallecido de una de las chicas que había muerto desgraciadamente en un fatídico accidente de tráfico.
En mitad de la sesión de espiritismo una profesora de sustitución entró inesperadamente en el baño. Las chicas tiraron el tablero (rompiendo repentinamente comunicación con esa entidad, algo muy peligroso durante una sesión de espiritismo ) el vaso cayó al suelo, rompiéndose, y saliendo automáticamente ( dicho por testigos ) una especie de extraño humo que entró por los orificios nasales de Estefanía y por su boca.
A partir de ese momento se empiezan a documentar escalofriantes fenómenos paranormales.

Si existe un autor de cómics en el mundo, que constituya una institución en si mismo, ese es, no te quepa la menor duda, José Luis Munuera.
Enérgico, decidido, y me atrevería a decir que con un punto canalla, su dibujo hace gala de una chispa y un intelecto fuera de serie. Verdaderamente a lo largo de su dilatada carrera como historietista y auténtico narrador visual se ha prodigado en innumerable variedad de proyectos. Muchos de ellos arriesgados. En la mayoría reinventándose y ofreciéndonos versiones inmejorables de su arte. Ha colaborado con grandes guionistas y otros excelentes autores y dibujantes. Sobre todo en el orbe franco-belga donde es, desde hace años, un puntal de referencia en la profesión.
Teórico muy práctico, Munuera reflexiona constantemente sobre su oficio, sobre cómo mejorarlo, sobre cómo engrandecerlo y renovarlo, y disfrutar durante el camino. Y todo esto es algo que además se transpira y nos contagia en cada viñeta.
En la primera parte de esta charla que tenemos el gusto de compartir contigo, sintetiza sus inicios en el mundo del dibujo y hablamos de los aspectos más técnicos de esta profesión.
En la segunda parte hablamos de la industria del cómic, de los eventos entorno a este y otros medios de ocio, y llegamos hasta sus trabajos más inminentes.
En todo caso lo mejor es que prestes toda tu atención a este maestro que, destilando la misma energía de una joven promesa, es capaz de dibujar mundos de una riqueza y naturalidad que no deja de lado la visceralidad necesaria y la parte entrañable de cada personaje que construye.

Arte Institute is pleased to present "A Talk With José Luís Peixoto", where the writer will be discussing about his work, literature and human nature, while engaging closely with youth, who often becomes fascinated with this young writer’s approach to life and writing.
Tattoos, piercings and literature don’t usually go hand in hand. However, what may seem like an odd match at first, turns out to be a powerful, magical blend, or the quintessential nature of Peixoto’s books.
José Luís Peixoto is Portugal's most acclaimed, prize-winning young novelist.His books are published in over 20 languages and he has been awarded several international prizes for his novels, narratives and plays.

On March 18, 2010, filmmakers JP Carpio and Emman Pascual travel to an apartment in Marikina, Metro Manila, Philippines to pay an afternoon visit to interview Lav Diaz – arguably the most important filmmaker working in the Philippines right now, and one of the key figures of the early 21st century new wave of Philippine cinema.
In this interview, Diaz shares his personal passions, insights, struggles and frustrations regarding his film process, life, art, truth, politics, the Philippines, and of course, cinema.
Cinéma 21 (referring back to the TV-series Cinéma, de notre temps, which focused on the most relevant filmmakers from the 80’s) seems to us the right expression for an in-depth look at the cinematic and thematic characteristics in the work of 21 cutting edge proponents of cinematic art.
What we are proposing is that a number of us in the Auteurs community elect to lead a discussion on a filmmaker, actor, composer, cinematographer or producer who has emerged in the last 2 decades and has made significant contributions in advancing cinema as an art form.

Early years
Barretto (whose surname is really "Barreto"; a mistake at the time Ray's birth certificate was filed gave his last name its formal spelling) was born in New York City. His parents moved to New York from Puerto Rico in the early 1920s, looking for a better life. He was raised in Spanish Harlem and at a very young age was influenced by his mother's love of music and by the jazz music of musicians such as Duke Ellington and Count Basie.
In 1946, when Barretto was 17 years old, he joined the Army. While stationed in Germany, Barretto met Belgian vibist Fats Sadi, who was working there. However, it was when he heard Dizzy Gillespie's "Manteca" with Cuban composer/percussionist Chano Pozo that he realized his true calling in life.
Barretto plays for Charlie Parker
In 1949, when Barretto returned home from military service, he started to visit clubs and participated in jam sessions, where he perfected his conga playing. On one occasion Charlie Parker heard Barretto play and invited him to play in his band. Later, he was asked to play for José Curbelo and Tito Puente, for whom he played for four years. Barretto developed a unique style of playing the conga and soon he was sought by other jazz band leaders. Latin percussionists started to appear in jazz groups with frequency as a consequence of Barretto's musical influence.
Success with "El Watusi"
In 1960, Barretto was a house musician for the Prestige, Blue Note, and Riverside labels. He also recorded on Columbia Records with Jazz flautist Herbie Mann. New York had become the center of Latin music in the United States and a musical genre called "pachanga" was the Latin music craze of the time.
In 1961, Barretto recorded his first hit, "El Watusi." He was quite successful with the song and the genre, to the point of being typecast (something that he disliked).
After recording a number of albums for the United Artists label, Barretto joined the Fania record label in 1967, and his first recording for the new label was the 1968 album Acid, an experiment joining rhythm and blues with Latin music. The album contained the song "A Deeper Shade Of Soul", which was sampled for the 1991 Billboard Hot 100 #21 hit "Deeper Shade of Soul" by Dutch band Urban Dance Squad. During this period, Adalberto Santiago was the band's lead vocalist. In 1972 Barretto's Que viva la musica was released. "Cocinando," a track from the album, opened the soundtrack of the Fania All Stars film Our Latin Thing in which Barretto had a role.
In 1973, Barretto recorded the album Indestructible, in which he played "La Familia", a song written by José Curbelo in 1953 and recorded by the sonero Carlos Argentino with the Cuban band Sonora Matancera; Tito Allen joined as new vocalist. After a number of successful albums, and just as his Afro-Cuban band had attained a remarkable following, most of its members left it to form Típica 73, a multinational "salsa" conglomerate. This left Barretto depressed and disappointed with salsa; he then redirected his efforts to jazz, while remaining as musical director of the Fania All Stars. In 1975 he released Barretto, also referred to as the Guarare album, with new vocalists Ruben Blades and Tito Gomez.
Barretto played the conga in recording sessions for the Rolling Stones and the Bee Gees. In 1975, he was nominated for a Grammy Award for the song "Barretto". From 1976 to 1978, Barretto recorded three records for Atlantic Records, and was nominated for a Grammy for Barretto Live...Tomorrow. In 1979, he recorded La Cuna for CTI records and produced a salsa record for Fania, titled Ricanstruction, which was named 1980 "Best Album" by Latin N.Y. Magazine, with Barretto crowned as Conga Player of the Year.
Later years
In 1990, Barretto won his first Grammy for the album Ritmo en el Corazón ("Rhythm in the Heart"), which featured the vocals of Celia Cruz. Also in the 1990s, a Latin agent, Chino Rodríguez, approached Barretto with a concept he also pitched to Larry Harlow. The idea was "The Latin Legends of Fania", and Barretto, Harlow, Yomo Toro, Pete "el Conde" Rodrguez, Junior González, Ismael Miranda, and Adalberto Santiago came together and formed "The Latin Legends of Fania", booked by Chino Rodríguez of Latin Music Booking.com. In 1999, Barretto was inducted into the International Latin Music Hall of Fame.
Barretto lived in New York and was an active musical producer, as well as the leader of a touring band which embarked on tours of the United States, Europe, Israel and Latin America.
Death
Barretto died of heart failure and complications of multiple health issues on February 17, 2006 at the Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey. His body was flown to Puerto Rico, where Barretto was given formal honors by the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture; his remains were eventually cremated.

On March 18, 2010, filmmakers JP Carpio and Emman Pascual travel to an apartment in Marikina, Metro Manila, Philippines to pay an afternoon visit to interview Lav Diaz – arguably the most important filmmaker working in the Philippines right now, and one of the key figures of the early 21st century new wave of Philippine cinema.
In this interview, Diaz shares his personal passions, insights, struggles and frustrations regarding his film process, life, art, truth, politics, the Philippines, and of course, cinema.
Cinéma 21 (referring back to the TV-series Cinéma, de notre temps, which focused on the most relevant filmmakers from the 80’s) seems to us the right expression for an in-depth look at the cinematic and thematic characteristics in the work of 21 cutting edge proponents of cinematic art.
What we are proposing is that a number of us in the Auteurs community elect to lead a discussion on a filmmaker, actor, composer, cinematographer or producer who has emerged in the last 2 decades and has made significant contributions in advancing cinema as an art form.
