This is the sequel to the "MY NAME IS JOHNNY CANUCK" viral video. This HD short film tells a twisted tale of Johnny Canuck's failed quest for the "perfect year", and the emotional aftermath that follows.
With the physical fight over, Johnny must now mentally battle his shock and grief to rise yet again.
The first film reinvented the historical Johnny Canuck character as a gritty and real version of the 140 year old Canadian icon. His story again reflects the Vancouver Canucks' legendary Stanley Cup playoff run of 2011.

This is the latest short film in the MY NAME IS JOHNNY CANUCK series. It follows Johnny Canuck as he visits a familiar place in hopes of finding himself, but discovers he’s not alone. Not even close.
The Johnny Canuck film series reinvented the historical Johnny Canuck character as an original, gritty and real version of the 140 year old Canadian icon.
FILM FACTS:
This was filmed with a crew of 7 people, at 8 different locations, over 4 days. Editing took over 14 days.
A mobility scooter was used as a makeshift steadicam.
Marie Hui recorded some original vocals for the movie.
The tree in the final shot of the film was dead from pine beetle infestation. After counting the rings, we learned that it was over 320 years old.

This 60 second short film relives Johnny Canuck's previous battles with the Bruin, and what he's learned along the way.
The film premiered in front of a live and energized audience of 19,000+, when the Vancouver Canucks took on the Boston Bruins in Rogers Arena, Dec 14th. The movie was designed to get the crowd loud and engaged, and it did. The Canucks ended up winning the game 6-2.
The MY NAME IS JOHNNY CANUCK film series resurrected the historical Johnny Canuck character as a gritty and real personification of the 140 year old icon.

Johnny Canuck was a Canadian cartoon hero and superhero who was created as a political cartoon in 1869 and was later re-invented, most notably as a Second World War action hero in 1942. The Vancouver Canucks, a professional ice hockey team in the National Hockey League (NHL), currently use a lumberjack rendition of Johnny Canuck as one of their team logos.
Johnny Canuck was created as a lumberjack national personification of Canada. He first appeared in early political cartoons dating to 1869 where he was portrayed as a younger cousin of the United States' Uncle Sam and Britain's John Bull. Dressed as a habitant, farmer, logger, rancher or soldier, he was characterized as wholesome and simple-minded and was often depicted resisting the bullying of John Bull or Uncle Sam. He appeared regularly in editorial cartoons for 30 years before declining in usage in the early twentieth century.
The character re-emerged during World War II in the February 1942 issue of Bell's Dime Comics No.1. Cartoonist Leo Bachle created the character as a teenager, apparently on a challenge from a Bell executive. Initially, Johnny Canuck had no superpowers. Johnny Canuck's cartoon exploits helped Canada fight against Nazism. Like Captain America, he met Adolf Hitler and almost single-handedly ended the war.

Bryan Adams, OC OBC (born Bryan Guy Adams, 5 November 1959) is a Canadian rock singer-songwriter, guitarist, bassist, producer, actor and photographer. For his contributions to music, Adams has many awards and nominations, including 20 Juno Awards among 56 nominations, 15 Grammy Award nominations including a win for Best Song Written Specifically for a Motion Picture or Television in 1992. He has also won MTV, ASCAP, and American Music awards. In addition, he has won two Ivor Novello Awards for song composition and has been nominated for several Golden Globe Awards and three times for Academy Awards for his songwriting for films.
Adams was awarded the Order of Canada and the Order of British Columbia for contributions to popular music and philanthropic work via his own foundation, which helps improve education for people around the world.
Adams was inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame, with the 2,435th star in March 2011 and Canada's Walk of Fame in 1998, and in April 2006 he was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame at Canada's Juno Awards. Johnny Canuck Begins Again
This is the latest short film in the MY NAME IS JOHNNY CANUCK series. It follows Johnny Canuck as he visits a familiar place in hopes of finding himself, but discovers he’s not alone. Not even close. The Johnny Canuck film series reinvented the historical Johnny Canuck character as an original, gritty and real version of the 140 year old Canadian icon. FILM FACTS: This was filmed with a crew of 7 people, at 8 different locations, over 4 days. Editing took over 14 days. A mobility scooter was used as a makeshift steadicam. Marie Hui recorded some original vocals for the movie. The tree in the final shot of the film was dead from pine beetle infestation. This is the latest short film in the MY NAME IS JOHNNY CANUCK series. It follows Johnny Canuck as he visits a familiar place in hopes of finding himself, but discovers he’s not alone. Not even close.
The Johnny Canuck film series reinvented the historical Johnny Canuck character as an original, gritty and real version of the 140 year old Canadian icon.
FILM FACTS:
This was filmed with a crew of 7 people, at 8 different locations, over 4 days. Editing took over 14 days.
A mobility scooter was used as a makeshift steadicam.
Marie Hui recorded some original vocals for the movie.
The tree in the final shot of the film was dead from pine beetle infestation. After counting the rings, we learned that it was over 320 years old.

This HD short film follows Johnny on a long and arduous walk through the winter season. On his journey he'll clash with new enemies and familiar rivals, including the Bruin, the Red Wing and King, and realize the fight in him is never dead.
This film was shot primarily in and around Kamloops, and Whistler B.C.
The first film reinvented the historical Johnny Canuck character as a gritty and real version of the 140 year old Canadian icon. This story reflects the Vancouver Canucks 2012 season.
