MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley testily declined to answer questions about a scandal involving a former top aide and some lawmakers’ push to impeach him.

Multiple media outlets reported that Bentley, during a Friday stop in Mobile, says he would only answer questions about an economic development bill he was there to sign.

News video from WKRG (http://bit.ly/1SkFGRG ) shows Bentley twice responding, “Did you hear what I just said?” when reporters asked about the scandal and impeachment push.

Bentley has admitted to making inappropriate remarks to former staffer Rebekah Mason but denied accusations of a physical affair. The governor said he had already made a statement as he declined to answer a reporter’s question.

The governor later said the scandal was having no impact on industrial recruitment.
