Tangled Up is the fourth studio album (fifth overall) by the British all-female pop group Girls Aloud. It was released in the United Kingdom on 19 November 2007 (see 2007 in music) by Fascination Records. Like their previous albums, Tangled Up was crafted by the production team of Brian Higgins and Xenomania. Tangled Up explores a more electronic aspect of pop music.

Tangled Up was mostly praised by contemporary music critics upon its release. The album spawned three top ten singles, including the highly successful "Call the Shots", and received a platinum and gold certification in the United Kingdom and Ireland respectively. The release was followed by 2008's Tangled Up Tour, Girls Aloud's fourth concert tour. The album has sold 490,000 copies.

The album took around six months to record, partially due to the release of "Sexy! No No No..." falling in the middle of recording.Nadine Coyle recorded her vocals from Los Angeles. The process began with each member talking to producer Brian Higgins about their lives, and he "takes inspiration from all that." Coyle said that with this album "The songs are all in the same vein, whereas the others have been quite random." In an interview for the Fascination Records website, Cheryl Cole said the album was "heading in a more mature direction."

Bob Dylan ( /ˈdɪlən/), born Robert Allen Zimmerman on May 24, 1941, is an American singer-songwriter, musician and artist. He has been an influential figure in popular music and culture for five decades. Much of his most celebrated work dates from the 1960s when he was an informal chronicler and a seemingly reluctant figurehead of social unrest. A number of Dylan's early songs, such as "Blowin' in the Wind" and "The Times They Are a-Changin'", became anthems for the US civil rights and anti-war movements. Leaving his initial base in the culture of folk music behind, Dylan's six-minute single "Like a Rolling Stone" has been described as radically altering the parameters of popular music in 1965. However, his recordings employing electric instruments attracted denunciation and criticism from others in the folk movement.

Dylan's lyrics incorporated a variety of political, social, philosophical, and literary influences. They defied existing pop music conventions and appealed hugely to the then burgeoning counterculture. Initially inspired by the songs of Woody Guthrie,Robert Johnson, and Hank Williams, as well as the music and performance styles of Buddy Holly and Little Richard, Dylan has both amplified and personalized musical genres. His recording career, spanning fifty years, has explored numerous distinct traditions in American song—from folk, blues and country to gospel, rock and roll, and rockabilly to English, Scottish, and Irish folk music, embracing even jazz and swing.

Skye Alexandra Sweetnam (born May 5, 1988) is a Canadian singer-songwriter, actress, and music video director. Skye first entered the mainstream in 2003 with the release of her debut single "Billy S." Over a year later, her debut album, Noise from the Basement, was released including the singles "Tangled Up in Me" and "Number One". In 2006, she was nominated for a Juno Award for New Artist of the Year. Her second album, Sound Soldier, was released in 2007. Now known by the stage name Sever, she is currently the lead singer of the band Sumo Cyco.

Skye was born on May 5, 1988, to Deirdre and Greg Sweetnam. She was named after the Isle of Skye in Scotland. Along with her sister, Aurora, and her brother, Cam, she was born and raised in the small town of Bolton, Ontario, where she studied dancing and singing from a young age. She began singing at the age of 5, performing for family members and friends. By her early teens she had moved on to songwriting, recording a demo with the help of a local Bolton music school, Rumball Music Studios.^{[citation needed]} Sweetnam was also a full-time Regional Arts Program student at Mayfield Secondary School in Brampton, Ontario, majoring in drama.^{[citation needed]} Within months of arriving at the school in Grade 9, she dropped out to pursue her career. She also went to Allan Drive Middle School in Bolton, Ontario.^{[citation needed]}
