"Birthday" was chosen as "single of the week" by both NME and Melody Maker in August 1987 and was also selected Number 1 in John Peel's Festive Fifty for 1987. The album was featured as one of the 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.

I Want can refer to:
Up All Night is the debut studio album by English-Irish group One Direction, released by Syco Records in November 2011 in Ireland and the United Kingdom, followed by a worldwide release during 2012. Four months after finishing third in the seventh series of British reality singing contest The X Factor in December 2010, One Direction began recording the album in Sweden, UK and the United States, working with a variety of writers and producers. The album is predominantly a pop music album which orientates into pop rock, dance-pop, teen pop and power pop. The album's lyrical content regards being young, relationships, heartbreak and empowerment. Staged in support of the album, One Direction performed the album's songs live on televised shows, at awards ceremonies, and during their worldwide Up All Night Tour.
The album received generally favourable reviews from contemporary music critics, many of whom appreciated the album's combination of melodic song craft and catchy, pop-oriented material that, while slickly produced, avoided the commercial cynicism and adult contemporary posturing of some of their '80s and '90s forebears. An international success, the album topped the charts in sixteen countries and, by December 2012, has sold over 4.5 million copies worldwide. The album bowed at number two on the UK Albums Chart and ultimately became the UK's fastest-selling debut album of 2011. Up All Night debuted to number one on the United States Billboard 200, selling 176,000 copies in its first week. According to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), Up All Night was the third global best-selling album of 2012 with sales of 4.5 million copies.
Department S are a British new wave band formed in 1980, who took their name from the 1960s TV series Department S. They are best known for their debut single, "Is Vic There?", which was originally released in December 1980 and reached No. 22 on the UK Singles Chart the following year.
Department S evolved from a previous punk/ska combo, Guns for Hire, fronted by Vaughn Toulouse and also featuring former Madness drummer John Hasler. Mike Herbage joined them on guitar and wrote Guns for Hire's only single, "I'm Gonna Rough My Girlfriend's Boyfriend Up Tonight", released on the Korova record label. The group then became Department S, with the addition of Eddie Roxy (later replaced by Mark Taylor) and Stuart Mizon.
They debuted at the Rock Garden in London on 24 September 1980.Demon Records subsequently released their debut single, "Is Vic There?", in December 1980 (reissued on RCA a few months later). It was produced by former Mott the Hoople members Buffin and Overend Watts, but its initial success led to the better-equipped RCA Records reissuing the single in March 1981. The single then began to climb the charts, and the band appeared on Top of the Pops. The B-side, a cover version of T.Rex's "Solid Gold Easy Action", featured Thunderthighs on backing vocals.
The idea of want can be examined from many perspectives. In secular societies want might be considered similar to the emotion desire, which can be studied scientifically through the disciplines of psychology or sociology. Want might also be examined in economics as a necessary ingredient in sustaining and perpetuating capitalist societies that are organised around principles like consumerism. Alternatively want can be studied in a non-secular, spiritual, moralistic or religious way, particularly by Buddhism but also Christianity, Islam and Judaism.
In economics, a want is something that is desired. It is said that every person has unlimited wants, but limited resources (Economics is based on the assumption that only limited resources are available to us from the infinite Universe). Thus, people cannot have everything they want and must look for the most affordable alternatives.
Wants are often distinguished from needs. A need is something that is necessary for survival (such as food and shelter), whereas a want is simply something that a person would like to have. Some economists have rejected this distinction and maintain that all of these are simply wants, with varying levels of importance. By this viewpoint, wants and needs can be understood as examples of the overall concept of demand.
"Want!" (stylized as "WANT!") is the 30th single by the Japanese idol group Berryz Kobo, released in Japan on December 19, 2012.
The single was to be released in four versions: Limited Edition A (catalog number PKCP-5216/7), Limited Edition B (PKCP-5218/9), Limited Edition C (PKCP-5220), and Regular Edition (PKCP-5221). Each edition has a different cover. All the limited editions were to be shipped sealed and would include a serial-numbered entry card for the lottery to win a ticket to one of the single's launch events. The limited editions A and B will include a bonus DVD: Limited Edition A DVD will contain the "Want! (Dance Shot Ver.)" music video, Limited Edition B — "Want! (Dance Shot Ver. II)".
The corresponding DVD single (so called Single V) will be released a week later, on December 26. As of November 27, the music video for the title song had been uploaded to the Berryz Kobo official YouTube channel.
The song with lyrics by Tsunku (つんく) begins "Yasashiku kata toka dakarete mitai" (優しく肩とか抱かれてみたい I want you to gently hold my shoulders), but the title comes from the refrain which is sung in English; "Ah, ah, ah, ah, I want it, want it".
Want is a repackaged double album by Canadian-American singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright, released in the United Kingdom on November 28, 2005. It contains all the tracks from both Want One and Want Two, along with two bonus tracks: a cover of Leonard Cohen's "Chelsea Hotel No. 2" along with "In with the Ladies".
All songs written by Wainwright, unless otherwise noted.

To mark the inaugural release for our new sister-label "Dirtybird Select," we couldn’t think of a better single to lay the foundation than Ciszak’s “I Want." Rooted in the signature sound of Dirtybird, it has all the elements we love—Quirky synth leads, contagious vocals and a huge bottom end. Road tested and crowd-certified by the boss, Claude VonStroke, we just knew it had to be shared. So, what better way to introduce Dirtybird Select than with this monster? VonStroke says, "If the ancient Mayans really were aliens from outer space that landed on earth, this is what they would have listened to.” DIRTYBIRD 💿 DIRTYBIRD - https://dirtybirdrecords.com/ 🎧 LISTEN TO BIRDHOUSE RADIO - https://claudevonstroke.com/birdhouse-blog 👕 DIRTYBIRD STORE - http://bit.ly/shopdbs 🐣 SUBSCRIBE TO BI...
