WRITTEN WURK / COMICS / STUFF:
I write all sorts of things in all sorts of media / mags / sites / formats - SF / Fantasy / Speculative / Horror / Pulp / Music 'journalism' / Cultural critiques / blahblahblah - including comic-book scripts. Here's some recent bits n pieces....
The 4-part Judge Dreddverse series DREAMS OF DEADWORLD which I did with artist Dave Kendall features the Dark Judges - Fire, Mortis, Fear and Death - and has been running in Progs 1946 - 1949 in 2000AD, during September 2015.
The 63-page story I wrote for Commando comic in the UK -- "Charge... or die!" -- is out NOW! Issue #4849 of Commando (Sept / Oct 2015) with art by the amazing Vincente Alcazar.
The mighty John M Burns and myself had a 12-part series called THE ORDER running in 2000AD from Jan - Mar 2015. There's an interview with me about it here. The follow-up 12-part series is out in the 100-page end-of-year edition of 2000AD - Prog 1961 - out on DEC 16th, 2015.
There's an 8-page article by me about Argentine improvisor Alan Courtis in a (now not-so) recent issue - #365 - of Wire magazine. I regularly write reviews for Wire too.
Shaky Kane and I did a one-shot 26+ page comic-book called CAP'N DINOSAUR from Image Comics, which was published in July, 2014. It's really cool and garnered some pretty good reviews. I have some copies, if you would like to buy one. Mail me.
Over the years, I've written (on-and-off under various editorial regimes) for the weekly UK comic-book anthology 2000AD...
In 2012, I wrote a series for them called 1947. I did this with artist Mike Dowling. There's an interview about it here.
In 2014, I wrote a Tharg's Terror Tale called "The Icarus Incident", which appeared in Prog 1871 and was illustrated by P J Holden.
A three-part 2000AD series called "Colony" set in a Soviet gulag with art by Vince Locke appeared in Prog 1880 - 1882, 2014.
