The government will start importing locomotive engines, wagons and passenger coaches in readiness for the launch of the standard gauge railway line. The rail project which is sixty five percent complete is expected to be commissioned in June next year. Kenya Railway Managing Director Atanus Maina says the rail operator plans to import 60 locomotive engines, 1,600 wagons and 40 passenger coaches mid this year.

From sultan Hamud President Kenyatta launched the Last Mile Connectivity Project in Kiambu County where over 18,000 households will be connected to electricity by June 2017.
