Prophet Saleh(as) & Thamud. Carved Houses out of Mountains. (QUR'AN 7:73-79)
Salih and the People of Thamud
Here Allah tells us about His servant and Messenger Salih, whom He sent to his people Thamud. Thamud came after `Ad and before Abraham, peace be upon him. Their Prophet Salih called them to Allah, to worship Him alone with no partner or associate, and to obey whatever commands were conveyed to them, but they refused, rejecting him and opposing him. He told them that he did not seek any reward from them for his call to them, but that he would seek the reward for that with Allah. Then he reminded them of the blessings of Allah.
146. "Will ye be left secure, in (the enjoyment of) all that ye have here?-
147. "Gardens and Springs,
148. "And corn-fields and date-palms with spathes near breaking (with the weight of fruit)?
149. "And ye carve houses out of (rocky) mountains with great skill.
150. "But fear Allah and obey me;
151. "And follow not the bidding of those who are extravagant,-
152. "Who make mischief in the land, and mend not (their ways)."
A Reminder to Them of their Circumstances and the Blessings
They enjoyed Salih preached to them, warning them that the punishment of Allah could overtake them and reminding them of the blessings that Allah had bestowed upon them, by giving them ample provision and making them safe from all kinds of dangers, giving them gardens and flowing springs, and bringing forth for them crops and fruits.
So, Salih said to them:
(So, have Taqwa of Allah, and obey me.) Pay attention to that which could benefit you in this world and the Hereafter; worshipping your Lord Who created you, who granted you provisions so that you could worship Him alone and glorify Him morning and evening.
(And follow not the command of the extravagant, who make mischief in the land, and reform not.) meaning, their chiefs and leaders, who called them to Shirk, disbelief and opposition to the truth.
The Response of Thamud, Their Demand for a Sign, and Their Punishment
Allah tells us how Thamud responded to their Prophet Salih, upon him be peace, when he called them to worship their Lord, may He be glorified.
153. They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched!
Meaning,`how can you receive Revelation when we do not'
154. "Thou art no more than a mortal like us: then bring us a Sign, if thou tellest the truth!"
A crowd of them gathered and demanded that he immediately bring forth from the rock a she-camel that was ten months pregnant, and they pointed to a certain rock in their midst. Allah's Prophet Salih made them promise that if he responded to their request, they would believe in him and follow him. So they agreed to that. The Prophet of Allah Salih, peace be upon him, stood and prayed, then he prayed to Allah to grant them their request. Then the rock to which they had pointed split open, revealing a she-camel that was ten months pregnant, excactly as they had requested. So some of them believed, but most of them disbelieved
155. He said: "Here is a she-camel: she has a right of watering, and ye have a right of watering, (severally) on a day appointed.
Meaning, `she will drink from your water one day, and on the next day you will drink from it.'
156. "Touch her not with harm, lest the Penalty of a Great Day seize you."
He warned them of the punishment of Allah if they should do her any harm. The she-camel
stayed among them for a while, drinking the water, eating leaves and grazing, and they benefitted
from her milk which they took in sufficient quantities for everyone to drink his fill. After this had
gone on for a long time, and the time for their destruction drew near, they conspired to kill her:
157. But they ham-strung her: then did they become full of regrets.
Their land was shaken by a strong earthquake, and there came to them an overwhelming Sayhah (shout) which took their hearts from their places. They were overtaken by events which they were not expecting, so they were left (dead), lying prostrate in their homes.
158. But the Penalty seized them. Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe.
159. And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful.

The Thamūd (Arabic: ثمود) were a people of ancient Arabia who were known from the 1st millennium BC to near the time of Muhammad. Although they are thought to have originated in southern Arabia, Arabic tradition has them moving north to settle on the slopes of Mount Athlab near Mada'in Saleh. According to the Qur'an, the Thamud were punished and destroyed by a soundwave (rajfa).
Numerous Thamudic rock writings and pictures have been found on Mount Athlab and throughout central Arabia.
The oldest known reference to Thamud is a 715 BC inscription of the Assyrian king Sargon II which mentions them as being among the people of eastern and central Arabia subjugated by the Assyrians.
They are referred to as "Tamudaei" in the writings of Aristo of Chios, Ptolemy, and Pliny.
The Qur'an mentions Thamud in Sura Al-A'raf in the context of several prophets who warned their people of coming judgement. Verse 74 says of Thamud, "Ye build for yourselves palaces and castles in (open) plains, and carve out homes in the mountains". This could refer to the rock-cut tombs of Mada'in Saleh (the Cities of Saleh)

(Qur'an 7:73) Prophet Saleh(as) & Thamud. Carved Houses out of Mountains. (QUR'AN 7:73-79) Salih and the People of Thamud Here Allah tells us about His servant and Messenger Salih, whom He sent to his people Thamud. Thamud came after `Ad and before Abraham, peace be upon him. Their Prophet Salih called them to Allah, to worship Him alone with no partner or associate, and to obey whatever commands were conveyed to them, but they refused, rejecting him and opposing him. He told them that he did not seek any reward from them for his call to them, but that he would seek the reward for that with Allah. Then he reminded them of the blessings of Allah. 146. "Will ye be left secure, in (the enjoyment of) all that ye have here?- 147. "Gardens and Springs, 148. "And corn-fields and date-palms with spathes near breaking (with the weight of fruit)? 149. "And ye carve houses out of (rocky) mountains with great skill. 150. "But fear Allah and obey me; 151. "And follow not the bidding of those who are extravagant,- 152. "Who make mischief in the land, and mend not (their ways)." A Reminder to Them of their Circumstances and the Blessings They enjoyed Salih preached to them, warning them that the punishment of Allah could overtake them and reminding them of the blessings that Allah had bestowed upon them, by giving them ample provision and making them safe from all kinds of dangers, giving them gardens and flowing springs, and bringing forth for them crops and fruits. So, Salih said to them: (So, have Taqwa of Allah, and obey me.) Pay attention to that which could benefit you in this world and the Hereafter; worshipping your Lord Who created you, who granted you provisions so that you could worship Him alone and glorify Him morning and evening. (And follow not the command of the extravagant, who make mischief in the land, and reform not.) meaning, their chiefs and leaders, who called them to Shirk, disbelief and opposition to the truth. The Response of Thamud, Their Demand for a Sign, and Their Punishment Allah tells us how Thamud responded to their Prophet Salih, upon him be peace, when he called them to worship their Lord, may He be glorified. 153. They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched! Meaning,`how can you receive Revelation when we do not' 154. "Thou art no more than a mortal like us: then bring us a Sign, if thou tellest the truth!" A crowd of them gathered and demanded that he immediately bring forth from the rock a she-camel that was ten months pregnant, and they pointed to a certain rock in their midst. Allah's Prophet Salih made them promise that if he responded to their request, they would believe in him and follow him. So they agreed to that. The Prophet of Allah Salih, peace be upon him, stood and prayed, then he prayed to Allah to grant them their request. Then the rock to which they had pointed split open, revealing a she-camel that was ten months pregnant, excactly as they had requested. So some of them believed, but most of them disbelieved 155. He said: "Here is a she-camel: she has a right of watering, and ye have a right of watering, (severally) on a day appointed. Meaning, `she will drink from your water one day, and on the next day you will drink from it.' 156. "Touch her not with harm, lest the Penalty of a Great Day seize you." He warned them of the punishment of Allah if they should do her any harm. The she-camel stayed among them for a while, drinking the water, eating leaves and grazing, and they benefitted from her milk which they took in sufficient quantities for everyone to drink his fill. After this had gone on for a long time, and the time for their destruction drew near, they conspired to kill her: 157. But they ham-strung her: then did they become full of regrets. Their land was shaken by a strong earthquake, and there came to them an overwhelming Sayhah (shout) which took their hearts from their places. They were overtaken by events which they were not expecting, so they were left (dead), lying prostrate in their homes. 158. But the Penalty seized them. Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 159. And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. -

They Got To Choose Their Miracle, You See This Rock Over Here, We Want You To Produce Out Of It A Living Camel, Suddenly Out Of This Rock And The People Of Thamud Are Watching, A Huge She-Camel Came Out But Don’t You Dare To Harm It, Don’t You Dare To Harm It, Don’t Dare You Dare To Do Anything Wrong To It Or Else, Allah Will Punish You A Severe Punishment, But There Were Some Conspiracies Occurring, Out Of The Whole Nation Of Thamud, The Ones Who Conspired To Kill The Camel Were Nine, So They Made Their Move And Then They Attacked It With Their Sword And Killed It, So Now Bring Us The Punishment You Promised, Salih Came Out And Told His People: You Have Three Days To Enjoy Yourselves, And Then The Punishment Came, Allah Shook The Ground Under Them, From The Terror And The Fear They Fell On Their Knees And Couldn’t Move, Then The Second Punishment Would Follow A Severe Thunder That Made Them Collapse On The Ground And Then The There Was The Sayha, Every Single One Of Them Was Destroyed By Allah SWT, Thamud Disbelieved In Their Lord, So Away With Thamud. -

Salih and the People of Thamud
Here Allah tells us about His servant and Messenger Salih, whom He sent to his people Thamud. Thamud came after `Ad and before Abraham, peace be upon him. Their Prophet Salih called them to Allah, to worship Him alone with no partner or associate, and to obey whatever commands were conveyed to them, but they refused, rejecting him and opposing him. He told them that he did not seek any reward from them for his call to them, but that he would seek the reward for that with Allah. Then he reminded them of the blessings of Allah.
146. "Will ye be left secure, in (the enjoyment of) all that ye have here?-
147. "Gardens and Springs,
148. "And corn-fields and date-palms with spathes near breaking (with the weight of fruit)?
149. "And ye carve houses out of (rocky) mountains with great skill.
150. "But fear Allah and obey me;
151. "And follow not the bidding of those who are extravagant,-
152. "Who make mischief in the land, and mend not (their ways)."
A Reminder to Them of their Circumstances and the Blessings
They enjoyed Salih preached to them, warning them that the punishment of Allah could overtake them and reminding them of the blessings that Allah had bestowed upon them, by giving them ample provision and making them safe from all kinds of dangers, giving them gardens and flowing springs, and bringing forth for them crops and fruits.
So, Salih said to them:
(So, have Taqwa of Allah, and obey me.) Pay attention to that which could benefit you in this world and the Hereafter; worshipping your Lord Who created you, who granted you provisions so that you could worship Him alone and glorify Him morning and evening.
(And follow not the command of the extravagant, who make mischief in the land, and reform not.) meaning, their chiefs and leaders, who called them to Shirk, disbelief and opposition to the truth.
The Response of Thamud, Their Demand for a Sign, and Their Punishment
Allah tells us how Thamud responded to their Prophet Salih, upon him be peace, when he called them to worship their Lord, may He be glorified.
153. They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched!
Meaning,`how can you receive Revelation when we do not'
154. "Thou art no more than a mortal like us: then bring us a Sign, if thou tellest the truth!"
A crowd of them gathered and demanded that he immediately bring forth from the rock a she-camel that was ten months pregnant, and they pointed to a certain rock in their midst. Allah's Prophet Salih made them promise that if he responded to their request, they would believe in him and follow him. So they agreed to that. The Prophet of Allah Salih, peace be upon him, stood and prayed, then he prayed to Allah to grant them their request. Then the rock to which they had pointed split open, revealing a she-camel that was ten months pregnant, excactly as they had requested. So some of them believed, but most of them disbelieved
155. He said: "Here is a she-camel: she has a right of watering, and ye have a right of watering, (severally) on a day appointed.
Meaning, `she will drink from your water one day, and on the next day you will drink from it.'
156. "Touch her not with harm, lest the Penalty of a Great Day seize you."
He warned them of the punishment of Allah if they should do her any harm. The she-camel
stayed among them for a while, drinking the water, eating leaves and grazing, and they benefitted
from her milk which they took in sufficient quantities for everyone to drink his fill. After this had
gone on for a long time, and the time for their destruction drew near, they conspired to kill her:
157. But they ham-strung her: then did they become full of regrets.
Their land was shaken by a strong earthquake, and there came to them an overwhelming Sayhah (shout) which took their hearts from their places. They were overtaken by events which they were not expecting, so they were left (dead), lying prostrate in their homes.
158. But the Penalty seized them. Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe.
159. And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful.

Prema Kur'anskom i Hadiskom izvoru, Salih a.s. je semitskog porijekla, deveta generacija nakon poslanika Nuha (Noe) i Potopa. Navodi se da je rođen i odrastao u narodu Semud, grupi naroda koja je živjela na području današnje Palestine i Hidžaza u Saudijskoj Arabiji.
Kur'an navodi da su živjeli u kućama "isklesanim u stijenama", i da su bili politeisti. Salih a.s. je pokušao da ih odvrati od toga, po nalogu Allaha, koji ga je učinio Poslanikom. On u svome narodu nije nailazio na razumjevanje i nije uspio da ih vrati u Monoteizam, oni su odbili da se pokore Bogu.
Tražili su od Saliha a.s. da im da neko čudo kao dokaz da ga je Bog poslao, to čudo je moralo da bude velika Kamila, kamila koja je izašla iz stijene pred njihovim očima, islamske predaje navode da je Semudu naređeno da jedan dan Kamila pije sa glavnog izvora a drugi dan oni, ne htijući da se pokore ni nakon očiglednog čuda-dokaza koje im je dato i brutalno prekršivši ugovor ubivši "Božiju kamilu" koljući je, Salihu je naređeno da sa svojom porodicom napusti svoj narod. Nakon toga su uništeni "munjom i zaglušujućom bukom".
Kur'an na nekoliko mjesta spominje Saliha a.s., narod Semud i dešavanja oko kamile.
A Semudu - njegova brata Saliha. "O narode moj," - govorio je on -
"Allahu se klanjajte, vi drugog boga osim Njega nemate!
Evo vam znak od Gospodara vašeg: ova Allahova kamila za vas je znak.
Pustite je neka pase po Allahovoj zemlji i ne zlostavljajte je pa da vas patnja nesnosna stigne!
I sjetite se da ste Njegovom voljom postali nasljednici Ada i da vas je on na Zemlji nastanio;
u ravnicama njezinim palate gradite, a u brdima kuće klešete. I neka su vam uvijek na umu Allahove blagodati,
i ne činite zlo po Zemlji nered praveći!" A glavešine naroda njegova, one koje su se oholile,
upitaše potlačene, one među njima koji su vjerovali: "Vjerujete li vi da je Salih poslan od Gospodara svoga?"
- "Mi, uistinu, vjerujemo u sve ono što je po njemu objavljeno" - odgovoriše oni. "A mi, doista, ne vjerujemo u to u što vi vjerujete"
- rekoše oni koji su bili oholi. I zaklaše onu kamilu, i zapovijed Gospodara svoga ne poslušaše i rekoše:
"O Salih, učini da nas snađe to čime prijetiš, ako si poslanik." I zadesi ih strašan potres i oni u zemlji svojoj osvanuše mrtvi,
nepomični, a on ih je već bio napustio i rekao: "O narode moj, prenio sam vam poslanicu Gospodara svoga i opominjao sam vas, ali vi ne volite one koji opominju"

I Semudu - brata njihova Saliha. "O narode moj,"- govorio je on - "klanjajte se samo Allahu, vi drugog boga osim Njega nemate!
on vas od Zemlje stvara i daje vam da živite na njoj! Zato ga molite da vam oprosti, i pokajte Mu se, jer Gospodar moj je, zaista, blizu i odaziva se."
"O Salihu," - govorili su oni - "ti si među nama prije ovoga cijenjen bio.
Zašto nam braniš da se klanjamo onome čemu su se preci naši klanjali? Mi uveliko sumnjamo u ono u čemu nas ti pozivaš.
" "O narode moj,"- govorio je on - "da vidimo: ako je meni jasno ko je Gospodar moj i ako mi je on sam vjerovjesništvo dao,
pa ko će me od Allaha odbraniti ako Ga ne budem slušao, ta vi biste samo uvećali propast moju.
O narode moj, evo ova Allahova kamila je znamenje za vas, pa pustite je neka pase po Allahovoj zemlji i ne činite joj nikakvo zlo,
da vas ne bi zadesila kazna bliska." Ali, oni je zaklaše, pa on reče:
"Živjećete u zemlji svojoj još samo tri dana, to je istinita prijetnja." I kad je došla kazna Naša,
Mi smo, milošću Našom, Saliha i vjernike s njim spasili od sramote toga dana - Gospodar tvoj je, uistinu, moćan i silan
- a one koji su činili zlo pogodio je strašan glas i oni su u zemlji svojoj osvanuli mrtvi, nepomični,
kao da na njoj nikad nisu ni postojali. Semud, doista, u Gospodara svoga nije vjerovao; daleko neka je Semud!

Controversy follows Baptist theologian to North Texas

If there is such a thing as a controversial, lightning rod Baptist minister, then one is headed to North Texas.
Ergun Caner is the former head of Jerry Falwell's Liberty Baptist Seminary in Lynchburg, Virginia, and his claims of having terrorist ties have clouded his credibility — and perhaps his future.
Claims of being so hated that he once had to dodge oranges being hurled from the audience is not what you might expect to hear from the Dean of Theology at Liberty Baptist Seminary.
But it's part of the Ergun Caner mystique and legend... of having been raised a radical Muslim in Turkey and an enemy of America.
"I hated you," Caner can be heard saying in a 2006 address to a student audience now broadcast on YouTube. "That may be harsh, but as Dr. Hays told you, my training center was in Beirut."
Caner is also on record saying he was trained to be a terrorist at the time his family moved from Turkey to America in 1978.
Once in the United States, Caner said he converted to Christianity, then rose to national prominence after the September 11 terrorist attacks in 2001.
That's when religion blogger Tom Rich of Jacksonville, Florida first heard Caner's message.
"He said that he was trained to do that was done on 11 September, which means in no uncertain terms ,'I was trained to be a terrorist, I was raised to be a terrorist,'" Rich said.
But last summer, Caner's story started to unravel when skeptics found evidence that despite his claims, the self-proclaimed young Jihadist actually moved to America from Sweden in 1969 — not from Turkey in 1978. Caner grew up looking and acting like most every other kid his age.
The discrepancies proved so damaging that Caner was demoted at Liberty Baptist and is now headed to North Texas to become vice president at Arlington Baptist College, home to 200 students and to perhaps a not-so-welcoming staff.
One faculty member told News 8: "I find it reprehensible that the leadership of the Arlington Baptist College would hire a man who is very clearly profiteering from the tragedy of September 11."
Back in Florida, Tom Rich says giving Caner credibility takes it away from the entire church.
"It really calls into question of the integrity of the organization that he represents," Rich said. "It makes it harder to spread the Gospel to people when they know that Southern Baptists are actually not holding this guy accountable."
Caner did not respond to our requests for an interview, but he is on the record saying he's only guilty of uttering "discrepancies" and making "pulpit mistakes."
Arlington Baptist President Dr. Dan Moody declined an on-camera interview, but told us by e-mail:
"Dr. Caner has our full confidence, and we are excited about the future of our school. We consider all the controversy to be in the past, and we are moving forward with full confidence."
And while Liberty Baptist Seminary officials found Caner made "factual statements that are self-contradictory," the chairman of the panel that investigated him says, "We never once found that he lied."
What seems to be at issue now is whether his detractors can now find it in themselves to forgive.

' The Christian witness to Muslims' has been DAMAGED by Ergun Caner says James White
Controversy follows Baptist theologian to North Texas

If there is such a thing as a controversial, lightning rod Baptist minister, then one is headed to North Texas.
Ergun Caner is the former head of Jerry Falwell's Liberty Baptist Seminary in Lynchburg, Virginia, and his claims of having terrorist ties have clouded his credibility — and perhaps his future.
Claims of being so hated that he once had to dodge oranges being hurled from the audience is not what you might expect to hear from the Dean of Theology at Liberty Baptist Seminary.
But it's part of the Ergun Caner mystique and legend... of having been raised a radical Muslim in Turkey and an enemy of America.
"I hated you," Caner can be heard saying in a 2006 address to a student audience now broadcast on YouTube. "That may be harsh, but as Dr. Hays told you, my training center was in Beirut."
Caner is also on record saying he was trained to be a terrorist at the time his family moved from Turkey to America in 1978.
Once in the United States, Caner said he converted to Christianity, then rose to national prominence after the September 11 terrorist attacks in 2001.
That's when religion blogger Tom Rich of Jacksonville, Florida first heard Caner's message.
"He said that he was trained to do that was done on 11 September, which means in no uncertain terms ,'I was trained to be a terrorist, I was raised to be a terrorist,'" Rich said.
But last summer, Caner's story started to unravel when skeptics found evidence that despite his claims, the self-proclaimed young Jihadist actually moved to America from Sweden in 1969 — not from Turkey in 1978. Caner grew up looking and acting like most every other kid his age.
The discrepancies proved so damaging that Caner was demoted at Liberty Baptist and is now headed to North Texas to become vice president at Arlington Baptist College, home to 200 students and to perhaps a not-so-welcoming staff.
One faculty member told News 8: "I find it reprehensible that the leadership of the Arlington Baptist College would hire a man who is very clearly profiteering from the tragedy of September 11."
Back in Florida, Tom Rich says giving Caner credibility takes it away from the entire church.
"It really calls into question of the integrity of the organization that he represents," Rich said. "It makes it harder to spread the Gospel to people when they know that Southern Baptists are actually not holding this guy accountable."
Caner did not respond to our requests for an interview, but he is on the record saying he's only guilty of uttering "discrepancies" and making "pulpit mistakes."
Arlington Baptist President Dr. Dan Moody declined an on-camera interview, but told us by e-mail:
"Dr. Caner has our full confidence, and we are excited about the future of our school. We consider all the controversy to be in the past, and we are moving forward with full confidence."
And while Liberty Baptist Seminary officials found Caner made "factual statements that are self-contradictory," the chairman of the panel that investigated him says, "We never once found that he lied."
What seems to be at issue now is whether his detractors can now find it in themselves to forgive.

Three days after Salih's warning, thunderbolts filled the air, followed by severe earthquakes which destroyed the entire tribe and its homeland. The land was violently shaken, destroying all living creatures in it. There was one terrific cry which had hardly ended when the disbeliveers of Salih's people were struck dead, one and all, at the same time. Neither their strong buildings nor their rock hewn homes could protect them.
Allah the Exalted said: To Thamud people We sent their brother Salih. HE said: "O my people! Worship Allah, you have no other Ilah (god) but Him (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah). Indeed there has come to you a clear sign ( the miracle of the coming out of a huge she camel from the midst of a rock) from your Lord. This she camel of Allah is a sign unto you so you leave her to graze in Allah's earth, and touch her not with harm, lest a painful torment should size you. Remember when He made you successors after Ad people and gave you habitations in the land, you build for yourselves palaces in plains and carve out homes in the mountains. So remember the graces bestowed upon you from Allah, and do not go about making mischief on the earth."

They said: "We indeed believe in that with which he has been sent." Those who were arrogant said: "Verily, we disbelieve in that which you believe in."
So they killed the she camel and insolently defied the Commandment of their Lord, and said: "O Salih! Bring about your threats if you are indeed one of the Messengers (of Allah)." So the earthquakes seized them and they lay dead, prostrate in their homes. Then he (Salih) turned from them, and said: "O my people! I have indeed conveyed to you the Message of my Lord, and have give you good advise but you like not good advisers." (7:73-79 Quran)
All were destroyed before they realized what was happening. As for the people who believed in the message of Salih (PBUH), they were saved because they had left the place.
Ibn Umar narrated that while the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was passing by Thamud's houses on his way to the battle of Tabuk, he stopped together with the people there. the people fetched water from the wells from which the people of Thamud used to drink. They prepared their dough (for baking) and filled their water skins from it (the water from the wells). The Prophet of Allah (PBUH) ordered them to empty the water skins and give the prepared dough to the camels. Then he went away with them until they stopped at the well from which the she camel (of Salih) used to drink. He warned them against entering upon the people that had been punished, saying "I fear that you may be affected by what afflicted them; so do no enter upon them."

1. By the heaven, holding the big stars .
2. And by the Promised Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection);
3. And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah];
4. Cursed were the people of the ditch (the story of the Boy and the King).
5. Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel,
6. When they sat by it (fire),
7. And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them).
8. They had nothing against them, except that they believed in Allah, the All-Mighty, Worthy of all Praise!
9. Who, to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness over everything.
10. Verily, those who put into trial the believing men and believing women (by torturing them and burning them), and then do not turn in repentance, (to Allah), will have the torment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the burning Fire.
11. Verily, those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them will be Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). That is the great success.
12. Verily, (O Muhammad ()) the Grip (Punishment) of your Lord is severe.
13. Verily, He it is Who begins (punishment) and repeats (punishment in the Hereafter) (or originates the creation of everything, and then repeats it on the Day of Resurrection).
14. And He is Oft-Forgiving, full of love (towards the pious who are real true believers of Islamic Monotheism),
15. Owner of the throne, the Glorious
16. He does what He intends (or wills).
17. Has the story reached you of the hosts,
18. Of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and Thamud?
19. Nay! The disbelievers (persisted) in denying (Prophet Muhammad () and his Message of Islamic Monotheism).
20. And Allah encompasses them from behind! (i.e. all their deeds are within His Knowledge, and He will requite them for their deeds).
21. Nay! This is a Glorious Qur'an,
22. (Inscribed) in Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz (The Preserved Tablet)!
