A group of African students is understandably in shock after an Apple store employee in Melbourne, Australia blocked them from entering because they "might steal something."
The group captured part of the incident on video and posted it to Facebook where it has since been watched more than 170,000 times.
"We're just a bit worried about your presence in our store. ... We're just worried you might steal something," the employee is heard saying in that video.
When one of the students asks why they'd steal something, the employee cuts off them off with “Guys, end of discussion. I need to ask you to leave our store.”
Abdulahi Haji Ali told Australian TV station SBS, "I didn't believe the employee said that. I thought I was day dreaming."
The president of Maribyrnong College praised the students for taking the video, and later escorted them back to the store seeking answers. He told the TV station that the store manager welcomed them in and said they were "welcome any time."
According to The Independent, Apple is investigating the incident and has issued a statement.
Another one of students, Mohamed Semra, wrote on Facebook that he wasn't blaming Apple for the incident.
“It was just one employee,” he said, “and we shouldn’t blame the [whole] company just for one employee’s mistake.”

It's usually accidental: your iPhone slips out of your fingers, or, in my case, pocket and heads for the nearest hard surface. BAM! And you get that sinking feeling where you immediately know something is very wrong...
But how do you get your cracked iPhone screen fixed? And what does it cost? Do you have to take it into an Apple store? Should you take it to a third party (non-Apple) store? Can you send it back to Apple via snail mail? And, most importantly, is it possible to change the color of your iPhone screen from white to black or vice versa since you're getting your screen replaced anyways?
I answer all of these questions and more and describe the experience of getting a cracked iPhone case replaced in general in this video.

Man tries to cut wire and steal iPhone6 from Apple Store.A man was caught attempting to steal an iPhone6 in broad daylight in a mobile business hall in Shifang, Sichuan Province recently.
Surveillance cameras show him wandering around the device for some minutes before finally trying to cut through the connecting cable with scissors, but he was spotted and caught immediately by sales clerks.

Steven Paul "Steve" Jobs (/ˈdʒɒbz/; February 24, 1955 – October 5, 2011) was an American businessman, designer and inventor. Through Apple, he was widely recognized as a charismatic pioneer of the personal computer revolution and for his influential career in the computer and consumer electronics fields. A group of African students is understandably in shock after an Apple store employee in Melbourne, Australia blocked them from entering because they "might steal something." The group captured part of the incident on video and posted it to Facebook where it has since been watched more than 170,000 times. "We're just a bit worried about your presence in our store. ... We're just worried you might steal something," the employee is heard saying in that video. When one of the students asks why they'd steal something, the employee cuts off them off with “Guys, end of discussion. I need to ask you to leave our store.” Abdulahi Haji Ali told Australian TV station SBS, "I didn't believe the employee said that. I thought I was day dreaming." It's usually accidental: your iPhone slips out of your fingers, or, in my case, pocket and heads for the nearest hard surface. BAM! And you get that sinking feeling where you immediately know something is very wrong... But how do you get your cracked iPhone screen fixed? And what does it cost? Do you have to take it into an Apple store? Should you take it to a third party (non-Apple) store? Can you send it back to Apple via snail mail? And, most importantly, is it possible to change the color of your iPhone screen from white to black or vice versa since you're getting your screen replaced anyways? I answer all of these questions and more and describe the experience of getting a cracked iPhone case replaced in general in this video. -
