Jonathan Adams, an artist on assignment for a Massachusetts society to paint frontier scenes, is away from Boston so long that his fiancée, Cynthia Stanhope, chaperoned by her Aunt Agatha, travel to Fort Alden seeking him. She finds him using Greta Jones, daughter of storekeeper Clem Jones, as a model. Butler, a fanatic, is seeking to instigate an Indian war so that he might gain control of the whole Mohawk valley. Mohawk Chief Kowanen holds his tribe in check but impatient warrior Rokhawah goads tribe-members into raiding the fort for guns. Onida, Kowanen's daughter, agrees to let the raiders into the fort after sundown and finds herself trapped in Adams' quarters after the raiders escape. He smuggles her out the next day and her father is grateful. Onida and Adams fall in love. Butler kills Kowanen's son, Keoga, and this prods the chief into declaring war against the whites, and even Adams is taken prisoner.

Neville Brand (August 13, 1920 - April 16, 1992) was an American television and movie actor.
Neville Brand was born in Illinois. or in Griswold Iowa as shown under his picture herein. He was born to Leo and Helen Brand as one of seven children. Leo, was an electrician and bridge building steel worker in Detroit, where Neville was raised. After high school, he helped support the family while employed as a soda jerk, waiter, and shoe salesman in Kewanee. He entered the Illinois Army National Guard on October 23, 1939 as a private in Company F, 129th Infantry Regiment. Enlisted as Corporal Neville L. Brand infantryman on March 5, 1941, he was listed as being six feet tall and weighing 169 pounds.
He trained at Fort Carson, and served nine months and nineteen days in the U.S. Army in World War II seeing action with the 331st Infantry Regiment of the 83rd Infantry Division (Thunderbolt Division) in the Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central European campaigns. Brand, a Sergeant and platoon leader, was wounded in action along the Weser River on April 7, 1945. His upper right arm was hit by a bullet, and he nearly bled to death. He was discharged from service in October 1945.

Holloway is killed while escorting a dangerous Indian chief to another fort's prison. The chief escapes. Knowing their fort is in danger of Indian attack, Lance takes a small group of army misfits to an abandoned nearby army fort to defend a mountain pass against the oncoming Indian assault. Their mission is to stall for time until reinforcements from another fort arrive. The men in this small group of malcontents, deserters, psychopaths and cowards all hate Capt. Lance and wish him dead. Much to their chagrin, the men recognize that Lance's survival instincts, military knowledge and leadership are the only chance the group has of staying alive.

Resumo do filme
Ama-me com Ternura é um drama/western que se passa logo depois da Guerra Civil. No primeiro filme de Elvis, ele parece no papel secundário de Clint Reno. Esta é a única vez que isso acontece na sua carreira cinematográfica. Clint, o caçula dos quatro irmãos Reno, é deixado para trás para cuidar da fazenda da família durante a guerra quando os mais velhos vão lutar pelos Confederados.
Richard Egan é Vance Reno, o irmão mais velho que a família acha que foi morto na batalha. Quando volta para casa, Vance fica chocado ao descobrir que Clint casou com a sua ex-namorada, Cathy (Debra Paget). O triângulo amoroso, complicado pelos atos agressivos de alguns ex-confederados inescrupulosos, finalmente coloca irmão contra irmão, o que causa a morte de Clint. The entire first act of Kansas City Confidential (1952, Phil Karlson) is a classic Jack Elam movie with the classic Jack Elam ending. It's one of our lad's best performances. I did a bit of editing on the film, cutting John Payne down to the supporting role he deserves, and handing the movie over to its real star. It wasn't hard. He'd already stolen it anyway. Watch for a quick glimpse of Lee Van Cleef and Neville Brand.
