Radical Times Historical Archive

An archival resource focusing on radical activism around Australia, particularly during the period 1965 to 1985 (although not exclusively).

Not only is this archive designed as a tool for appreciating and understanding the past, it is also hoped it will provide perspective and ideas for future endeavours for social and political action.

There is an emphasis on visual/aural material. The archive currently has 143 film streams and 62 audio streams.

Additional resources are included which are outside the archive's main focus. For example, an international section with films made outside Australia by Australians.

You will find a variety of accessible, easy-to-read articles summarizing and critiquing the history of this unique period of time and place. Additionally, a number of publications from the era, and those written in retrospect, are reproduced as PDF documents. There are also hundreds of photographs.

Please be aware this site contains images and voices of indigenous people now deceased.
