Leading global travel publisher Frommer's, a branded imprint of John Wiley & Sons Inc., has revealed the Frommer's Top Destinations List for 2012. This distinguished annual list, compiled by Frommer's writers and editors, features an inspiring choice of established and up and coming destinations that travellers should be considering in 2012. London Greenwich makes the cut this year alongside the Catalan city of Girona in Spain, Mexico's exotic Yucatan Peninsula, the hip city of Beirut in Lebanon re-emerging after decades of civil war, and Chonqging, China, often cited as the world's biggest metropolis.
Frommer's writers and editors said 2012 is London Greenwich's time to shine as it celebrates Olympic events, the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and becomes a Royal Borough. London's brand new cable car is also set to launch in Greenwich next year. Frommer's praised historic Greenwich's ability to continually reinvent itself since it emerged as a naval centre in the 18th Century and highlighted the remarkable baroque facades by architects such as Wren, Hawksmoor and Vanbrugh along the waterfront as well as the beautiful views one can take in across the oldest of the Royal parks, Greenwich Park to the skyscrapers of Canary Wharf.
Mark Henshall, Regional Editor, said: "Every year Frommer's authors and editors put their heads together to determine the best travel inspirational experiences for the year ahead. Our annual list draws from our individual local knowledge, passion and expertise, and is a great resource for travellers searching for their next extraordinary getaway. Our top picks offer smart and lesser known alternatives to overrun spots as well as emerging and rediscovered destinations that will wow you."
New for 2012, Frommer's has also scoured the globe for destinations that match the interests of particular travellers. To name a few, Frommer's urges explorers to experience the rugged wilderness of Chile's Aysen region before proposed dams fuel industrial growth on its pristine rivers; cruise fans should add Tromso in Norway to their lists to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights; while travellers keen to tighten their purse strings should consider the Albanian Riviera next year as it has all the natural attractions of its Croatian counterpart but without the crowds and considerable expense.
The list also includes the Frommer's Readers' Favourite destination, Turkey, which received 51% of the overall vote from the ten destinations up for nomination. Turkey beat South Africa to the top spot. In describing the win, Frommer's editors raved about Istanbul's unique positioning at the crossroads of Europe and Asia and the stunning coastlines of the Mediterranean coast. The 7.6 magnitude earthquake that hit eastern Turkey on Sunday 23rd October does not dampen Frommer's enthusiasm for what the country has in store for 2012. Modern Turkey and its past incarnations have seen their share of natural and man-made challenges throughout the centuries. As the Frommer's Turkey author Lynn A. Levine puts it "... there is one undeniable common denominator, and that is that Turkey, and the Turkish people, know how to do hospitality."

I'm seriously impressed with the fast food chains in the Philippines.
First we start off with the ever so popular Greenwich pizza and chicken wings. Then we try everyone's favorite: Jollibee... TWICE! I really enjoyed eating the Yum Burger and the pineapple juice. I wanted to try Chowking, but there were no seats left. So I opted for Mang Inasal, which sells grilled chicken dishes- a little bit similar to El Polo Loco. To wrap things up - I try a Goldilocks Bakeshop's log cake.

Time to Travel visits Greenwich. The trip from Westminster Pier to Greenwich via the Thames River takes about one hour. Boatman offer a tongue and cheek narrative about history and points of interest along the River. The tour passes under Tower Bridge and passes by the modern business district at Canary Wharf. In Greenwich we tour the Old Navel College, now home to Greenwich University. We also climb to the Royal Observatory where visitors can stand astride the Prime Meridian with one foot in the Western Hemisphere and the other in the Eastern Hemisphere. This area of London will play a mayor role in the 2010 Summer Olympics. Greenwich is a great day trip but can also be done in half a day if you are pressed for time. It's well worth taking time to travel to Greenwich. This video produced by Dean Communications.

Greenwich (UK 
i/ɡrɪnɪdʒ/ GRIN-ij; US /ɡrɛnɪtʃ/ GREN-ich or /ɡrɛnɪdʒ/ GREN-ij) is a district of south London, England, located in the Royal Borough of Greenwich and situated 5.5 miles (8.9 km) east south-east of Charing Cross.
Greenwich is notable for its maritime history and for giving its name to the Greenwich Meridian (0° longitude) and Greenwich Mean Time. The town became the site of a royal palace, the Palace of Placentia from the 15th century, and was the birthplace of many in the House of Tudor, including Henry VIII and Elizabeth I. The palace fell into disrepair during the English Civil War and was rebuilt as the Royal Naval Hospital for Sailors by Sir Christopher Wren and his assistant Nicholas Hawksmoor. These buildings became the Royal Naval College in 1873, and they remained an establishment for military education until 1998 when they passed into the hands of the Greenwich Foundation. The historic rooms within these buildings remain open to the public; other buildings are used by University of Greenwich and the Trinity College of Music.

I wanted to try Chowking, but there were no seats left. So I opted for Mang Inasal, which sells grilled chicken dishes- a little bit similar to El Polo Loco. To wrap things up - I try a Goldilocks Bakeshop's log cake.

Boatman offer a tongue and cheek narrative about history and points of interest along the River. The tour passes under Tower Bridge and passes by the modern business district at Canary Wharf. In Greenwich we tour the Old Navel College, now home to Greenwich University. We also climb to the Royal Observatory where visitors can stand astride the Prime Meridian with one foot in the Western Hemisphere and the other in the Eastern Hemisphere. This area of London will play a mayor role in the 2010 Summer Olympics. Greenwich is a great day trip but can also be done in half a day if you are pressed for time. These two girls are so smart and wonderful and precious and important to the series, offering such amazing perspectives on the relationship between dreams and reality. Of course, then, these lyrics also mean a lot to me, and I'm glad I was able to do this collaboration with someone who is really like the Renko to my Maribel~. This is definitely one of my favorite projects ever!

If the names Joey, Monica, Chandler, Ross, Rachel and Phoebe mean anything to you, make sure you visit the corner of Bedford St. & Grove St. in Greenwich Village to pay homage to the "Friends' Building". This is the building where the Friends supposedly lived in the hit sitcom we all know and love. In fact, before the producers decided on the title "Friends", the working title of the show was "Once Upon a Time in the Village".
Narrowest House in NYC -- 75 ½ Bedford St
Coming in at nine and a half feet wide, you'll find the narrowest house in NYC at 75 ½ Bedford St. The Pulitzer Prize winning poet Edna St. Vincent Millay lived there for a short while.

We have a day out in our favourite London park. Greenwich. We check out the park and see the observatory. See the various sundials before going past the National Maritime Museum and onto the deer park. Then we go to Al Panchinos for an amazing lunch and coffee, the first coffee we've had in England with decent latte art ;-)
Afterwards we head to Greenwich Market, The Cutty Sark and then the Thames barrier to finish the day.

We have a day out in our favourite London park. Greenwich. We check out the park and see the observatory. See the various sundials before going past the National Maritime Museum and onto the deer park. Then we go to Al Panchinos for an amazing lunch and coffee, the first coffee we've had in England with decent latte art ;-)
Afterwards we head to Greenwich Market, The Cutty Sark and then the Thames barrier to finish the day.

Our recent week in New York City was an action-packed one. We decided to set ourselves a challenge to see and do as much as we possibly could, and that gave way to this travel video guide which highlights 50 of the top attractions. In a city like New York this means we barely scratched the surface, but hopefully this video will highlight the cornucopia of possibilities that is the Big Apple.
We try our best to cover all of the top attractions including fine arts, entertainment, festivals, dining, architecture and museums as well as focusing on lesser known off the beaten path attractions to cover all forms of tourism. If you only have time to visit only one city in the United States it ought to be NYC, USA:

Most journeys begin at Penn Station or Grand Central, and if you arrive at the later you'll be wowed by the building. The Meatpacking District was once home to markets, slaughterhouses, and packaging plants, but times have changed. Today you'll find a mixture of trendy restaurants, clubs and boutiques. The Village used to be a bohemian neighborhood that drew artists and musicians, but today you're more likely to find upper middle class families living here. Completed in 1883, Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States. Williamsburg has become popular given its lower rent prices. University students and young professionals have been flocking to this part of town.
You can walk along the riverfront for a great view of the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges and the Manhattan skyline. During the summer months, Bryant Park also becomes a popular hangout spot people looking to relax and even work on their tans. The Staten Island Ferry is free of charge and this makes it really popular with visitors who want to catch a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty from a distance. Battery Park is located on the southern tip of Manhattan. Having both lived in South Korea, we were thrilled to come across Manhattan's own Little Korea. Coney Island is all about good old fashioned fun. You can ride roller coasters, stroll down the boardwalk, enjoy some beach time, and then head over the Nathan's Famous hot dogs. The Cloisters will make you feel like you've travelled over to Europe. Central Park is massive and there are so many places to visit within its boundaries. We managed to visit Belvedere Castle, the Great Lawn, Shakespeare Garden, The Ramble, The Jackie Onassis Reservoir, the Alice in Wonderland Statue, and we still left feeling like we barely scratched the surface. Strawberry Fields is a section of Central Park dedicated to the memory of John Lennon.
And that concludes a look at our very busy week in New York City. I'm still shocked we managed to cover so many attractions, but the great thing about this city is that distances aren't very long and there's always something really cool worth checking out around each corner. So Hello from London! Time for a new destination. This is a city that I haven't visited in almost 4 years and it is actually Sam's very first time here. So we're both very excited to be in London. And we're going to be making a little video guide. Actually a really big video guide because we plan on showing you 50 different things to do around London. So let's get started.
Our first stop was Trafalgar Square. This square leads to a lot of central attractions, so it's a nice place to people watch, get your bearings, and plan out where you want to go in the city.
The London Eye is a giant Ferris wheel on the South Bank of the Thames. It offers a bird's eye view of the city - just make sure you don't go on a foggy day.
Buckingham Palace has served as the official London residence for Britain's sovereigns since 1837. The State Rooms at Buckingham Palace are open to visitors every year, however, that's something that you need to plan months in advance.
The Palace of Westminster, also known as the Houses of Parliament, is the meeting place of the House of Commons and the House of Lords. The Palace along with Big Ben are two of the top London attractions that dot the city-scape.
The Tower of London sits on the north bank of the River Thames. Though this castle served many purposes, it's mainly remembered for its use as a prison in the 16th and 17th centuries.
And that's a wrap for London! Like with any mega city, it's impossible to cover all the sights and attractions you can enjoy here, but hopefully this video will give you an idea of what London has to offer.
