A watchtower is a type of fortification used in many parts of the world. It differs from a regular tower in that its primary use is military, and from a turret in that it is usually a freestanding structure. Its main purpose is to provide a high, safe place from which a sentinel or guard may observe the surrounding area. In some cases, non-military towers, such as religious pagodas, may also be used as watchtowers.
An example of nonmilitary watchtower in history is the one of Jerusalem. Though the Hebrews used it to keep a watch for approaching armies, the religious authorities forbade the taking of weapons up into the tower as this would require bringing weapons through the temple. Rebuilt by King Herod, that watchtower was renamed after Mark Antony, his friend who battled against Gaius Julius Caesar Octavianus (later Augustus) and lost.
The Romans built numerous towers as part of a system of communications, one example being the towers along Hadrian's Wall in Britain. Each tower was in sight of the next in the line, and a simple system of semaphore signalling was used between them. They also built many lighthouses, such as the Tower of Hercules in northern Spain, which survives to this day as a working building, and the equally famous lighthouse at Dover Castle, which survives to about half its original height as a ruin. In medieval Europe, many castles and manor houses, or similar fortified buildings, were equipped with watchtowers. In some of the manor houses of western France, the watchtower equipped with arrow or gun loopholes was one of the principal means of defense. A feudal lord could keep watch over his domain from the top of his tower.

James Marshall "Jimi" Hendrix (born Johnny Allen Hendrix; November 27, 1942 – September 18, 1970) was an American musician and singer-songwriter. He is widely considered to be the greatest electric guitarist in music history, and one of the most influential musicians of his era despite mainstream exposure limited to just three years. After initial success in Europe with his group The Jimi Hendrix Experience, he achieved fame in the United States following his 1967 performance at the Monterey Pop Festival. Later, he headlined the iconic 1969 Woodstock Festival and the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival. He often favored raw overdriven amplifiers with high gain and treble and helped develop the previously undesirable technique of guitar amplifier feedback.
Hendrix helped to popularize use of the wah-wah pedal in mainstream rock, which he often used to deliver tonal exaggerations in his solos, particularly with high bends, complex guitar playing, and use of legato. As a record producer, he also broke new ground in using the recording studio as an extension of his musical ideas. He was one of the first to experiment with stereophonic phasing effects for rock recording.[citation needed] He was influenced by blues artists such as B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Albert King and Elmore James,rhythm and blues and soul guitarists Curtis Mayfield and Steve Cropper, and the jazz guitarist Wes Montgomery. Hendrix began dressing and wearing a moustache like Little Richard when he performed and recorded in his band from March 1, 1964 through to the spring of 1965. In 1966, he stated, "I want to do with my guitar what Little Richard does with his voice".

David John "Dave" Matthews (born January 9, 1967) is a South African-American musician and actor, best known as the lead vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist for the Dave Matthews Band. He performs mainly with acoustic guitar and favors rhythm rather than solos in his playing.
David John Matthews was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, the third of four children of parents John and Valerie Matthews. At two years old, Matthews' family moved to Yorktown Heights in Westchester County, New York, where his father, a physicist, started working for IBM.
In 1974, the family moved to Cambridge, England, for a year before returning to New York, where his father died from lung cancer in 1977. Biographer Nevin Martell argues that Dave's father's death may be an impetus for his "carpe diem" lyrics. At some point while residing in New York, Matthews attended his first concert, when his mother took him to a performance by Pete Seeger. The family moved back to Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1977.
Upon Matthews' graduation from St Stithians College high school in 1985, he was faced with conscription into the South African military just as civil disobedience to the practice was becoming widespread. A Quaker (and consequently pacifist), Matthews left South Africa to avoid service.

On pages 884 and 885 they explain that the Jews used to insert the vowels of "Adonai" into the Tetragrammaton "YHWH" to remember to say Lord (Adonai) instead of God's name while reading the sacred texts. The two words put together read: "Yehowah." In the year 1270 a Dominican Spanish monk by the name of Raymundus Martin published a book called "Pugeo Fidei" in which he wrote in the latinized form of "Yehowah" as "Jehovah". He was the first to do so. Today, the Watchtower will only tell you part of the facts. They won't tell you that Raymundus misread 2 words as one. In other words that Jehovah is a mistake. They will tell you that vowel points were inserted to try to find the correct pronunciation of G... -

Over than 3500 km traveled in 20 days, capturing landscapes from the bluish tones of Pamukkale to the warm ones of Cappadocia, the all passing by a great variation of colors, lights and weathers through six other cities.
I've crossed Cappadocia, Pamukkale, Ephesus, Istanbul, Konya; and tasted baklava, kunefe, doner, the turkish tea; and got the chance to meet the soul of Turkey, its people.. and got their smiles and their hospitality.

In 1969, the Watchtower published a reference book called "Aid to Bible Understanding." On pages 884 and 885 they explain that the Jews used to insert the vowels of "Adonai" into the Tetragrammaton "YHWH" to remember to say Lord (Adonai) instead of God's name while reading the sacred texts. The two words put together read: "Yehowah." In the year 1270 a Dominican Spanish monk by the name of Raymundus Martin published a book called "Pugeo Fidei" in which he wrote in the latinized form of "Yehowah" as "Jehovah". He was the first to do so.
Today, the Watchtower will only tell you part of the facts. They won't tell you that Raymundus misread 2 words as one. In other words that Jehovah is a mistake. They will tell you that vowel points were inserted to try to find the correct pronunciation of God's name.
The Watchtower soon realized the error they had made by publishing this information and quickly replaced "Aid to Bible understanding" by an other work called "Insight on the Scriptures, Vol. 1 & 2," © 1988 in which they removed that entire explanation.
The mention of the book is also not available on the Watchtower CD Rom when searching for Raymundus Martini. Therefoire, Jehovah's witnesses continue to believe the lie that Jehovah is really God's name and the explanation that Jehovah is the English renderring of Yahweh when in truth, Jehovah is the LATINIZED form of a mistaken understanding of Hebrew practices of ancient times.
If Jehovah's witnesses would know this then the entire religion would fall appart since they wear a false name since 1931 and give witness to that false name wherever they go.

There is no end to the harassment of women waiting at bus stops in the city at odd hours, after a long, hard day at work. Women waiting at the Simpson’s bus stop on Anna Salai are said to be subjected to cat calls and whistling by young men, including college students ...
