David Hyde Pierce (born April 3, 1959) is an American actor and comedian.
Pierce is known for playing the psychiatrist Dr. Niles Crane on the NBC sitcom Frasier, for which he won four Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series during the show's run.
Pierce was born David Pierce in Saratoga Springs, New York. His father, George Hyde Pierce (deceased), was an aspiring actor, and his mother, Laura Marie (née Hughes; deceased), was an insurance agent. He added his middle name "Hyde" to avoid confusion with another actor named David Pierce.
As a child, Pierce frequently played organ at the local Bethesda Episcopal Church.
While attending Yale, Pierce performed in and directed student productions, appearing in the Yale Gilbert & Sullivan Society's production of H.M.S. Pinafore. He also directed the Gilbert & Sullivan Society's operetta Princess Ida. Among other roles Pierce played at Yale were in Waiting for Godot, Saint Joan, and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?.
Frasier is an American sitcom created by David Angell, Peter Casey and David Lee and is a spinoff from the series Cheers, which was created by Glen Charles, Les Charles and James Burrows.
The series sees newly divorced psychiatrist Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer) leave behind his old life in Boston and relocate to his hometown of Seattle, Washington. He begins a new career as the host of his own radio call-in show, where he is assisted by his sassy, somewhat promiscuous producer Roz Doyle (Peri Gilpin). Frasier quickly learns from his anal retentive younger brother Niles (David Hyde-Pierce) that their disabled father Martin (John Mahoney) is no longer able to live alone and Frasier reluctantly agrees to take him in (along with Martin's favorite recliner and his dog, Eddie (Moose)). In order to help Martin with his physical therapy, he and Frasier ultimately hire a live-in housekeeper and therapist, Daphne Moon (Jane Leeves), a quirky British woman who believes she is psychic. The five quickly form a strange family unit and Frasier comes to realize that even though his new life may not be what he planned, that does not mean that it is bad.
Frasier is an American sitcom that was broadcast on NBC for eleven seasons, premiering on September 16, 1993, and concluding on May 13, 2004.
The program was created and produced by David Angell, Peter Casey, and David Lee (as Grub Street Productions) in association with Grammnet (2004) and Paramount Network Television.
The series was created as a spin-off of Cheers, continuing the story of psychiatrist Frasier Crane as he returned to his hometown of Seattle and started building a new life. Frasier starred Kelsey Grammer, David Hyde Pierce, John Mahoney, Jane Leeves, Peri Gilpin, and Moose/Enzo. Critically acclaimed, it was one of the most successful spin-off series in television history.
Psychiatrist Dr. Frasier Crane (Grammer) returns to his hometown of Seattle, Washington, following the end of his marriage and his life in Boston (as seen in Cheers). His plans for a new life as a bachelor are complicated when he is obliged to take in his father, Martin (Mahoney), a retired Seattle Police Department detective, who has mobility problems after being shot in the line of duty during a robbery. Frasier hires Daphne Moon (Leeves), as Martin's live-in physical therapist and care giver, and tolerates Martin's dog Eddie (Moose). Frasier frequently spends time with his younger brother Niles (Pierce), a fellow psychiatrist. Niles becomes obsessed with, and eventually falls in love with, Daphne (notwithstanding his own marriage), but does not confess his feelings to her until the final episode of the seventh season.

Genres: Comedy,I've shovelled through dust to find you To the point I heard the sound of your mind Memories displayed a secret gallery Cargo on an unmanned freight-train
You tell me the earth is a womb Forging fake centuries Plugging the entrance to a new world Thriving in the realm of your chest
A chromium sun gleams in your eyes Like a hatched-out horizon it bleaches the skies The glowing behemoth came back from somewhere And its chromium chest it breathes
Your skin is a barrier to another world Centuries gone, just came back Music in a silent universe Ancient echoes from pre-historic birds
The desert monument stuttered "Real and dry, hurt and scrape" The hollow moment, battered Is now wiped clean from the sky
