The current Chief Constable David Crompton QPM, and former Chief Constable Meredydd John Hughes CBE QPM, South Yorkshire Police facing questions from the HoC Home Affairs Committee on 9th September 2014.
They were questioned about their knowledge of the 'Industrial scale child sexual exploitation' that took place in Rotherham whilst they were the Chief Constables of South Yorkshire.

Richard David Hughes (born 8 September 1975, Gravesend, Kent) is an English musician, best known as the drummer of the British piano rock band Keane.
Biography
Hughes attended Tonbridge School where he was friends with Tim Rice-Oxley and Dominic Scott. At the age of seventeen, he learned to play the drums, and when Scott and Rice-Oxley formed a small covers band in 1995 he was invited to join as drummer. They later invited present vocalist Tom Chaplin to join the band, although Hughes initially objected, later stating, "The idea of giving someone who's already the loudest person you know a microphone was not something that I was particularly keen on."
Hughes then went to university at University College London where he received a degree in Geography. He took a job as a secretary at the BBC in order to support himself and the band while they lived and practiced in a flat on Upper Clapton Road in London. He also had a job as a supply teacher for a short time. It has been said that the song 'Put it Behind You' was written by Rice-Oxley for Hughes after he had broken up with a girlfriend, and that much of the album 'Perfect Symmetry' - in particular the track 'You Don't See Me' - was also written about him and his unrequited love for a music journalist who broke his heart by marrying another man. Hughes is known to be the most humorous member of the band. Since Under the Iron Sea was released he has provided additional backing vocals for the band. He was married, presumably to his long-time girlfriend, in 2010.

They were questioned about their knowledge of the 'Industrial scale child sexual exploitation' that took place in Rotherham whilst they were the Chief Constables of South Yorkshire.

Nick Zedd (born January 25, 1958 or May 8, 1959 in Takoma Park, Maryland) is an American filmmaker and author based in New York City. He coined the term Cinema of Transgression in 1985 to describe a loose-knit group of like-minded filmmakers and artists using shock value and black humor in their work. These filmmakers and artistic collaborators included Richard Kern, Tessa Hughes Freeland, Lung Leg, and Lydia Lunch. Under numerous pen names Zedd edited and wrote the Underground Film Bulletin (1984-90) which publicised the work of these filmmakers. The Cinema of Transgression is explored in Jack Sargeant's book Deathtripping Creation Books. -- Wiki

Often compared with history's most infamous sexual deviants from Henry Miller to the Marquis de Sade, Lydia Lunch has expressed her unique ideas through several artistic mediums. Predominately a musician, writer, and spoken word performer, she brings a challenging and confrontational presence to her work in visual arts as well. Her film credits include writing, composing, directing, and acting, though she mostly appears as "Herself." In short experimental films and videos, she has worked with innovative filmmakers such as Beth B. and Nick Zedd since the late '70s. Several of Lunch's spoken word performances have been made available on video, most notably in 1988's The Gun Is Loaded and the documentary The Wild World of Lydia Lunch. In the mid '90s, she was a presenter at the Whitney Museum of Art's Underground Film Festival, personally appearing in several of the screenings. She collaborated with director Richard Kern for The Right Side of My Brain and Fingered, two short films investigating ideas of sex and violence. Thomas Richard "Tommy" Bolin (August 1, 1951 -- December 4, 1976) was an American-born guitarist who played with Zephyr (from 1969 to 1971), The James Gang (from 1973 through 1974), and Deep Purple (from 1975 to 1976).
Private Eyes was recorded six months before Bolin's unexpected death, while Tommy's short ride replacing Ritchie Blackmore in the legendary Deep Purple was on the outs. The flagship cut from Private Eyes effort is the storming "Post Toastee", a bold nine-minute track which stands out as an AOR masterpiece from the wild life '70's. Other noteworthy numbers from the eight song disc include the thumping "Bustin' Out For Rosey", the cool strut of "Shake The Devil" and the smooth album closer, "You Told Me That You Loved Me". Unlike Teaser, Private Eyes was laid down with the official Tommy Bolin Band, which at that time included Norma Jean Bell, Reggie McBride, Mark Stein, and Bobby Berge. In the end Private Eyes is not quite as diverse as the Teaser LP, however the album is comprised by an exceptional set of songs, from a truly great musician.
Bolin's tour for Private Eyes was his last. In his last concert dates, he opened for Peter Frampton and Jeff Beck. In his final show, he opened for Beck on December 3, 1976, and encored with a rendition of "Post Toastee." He also posed for a photo with Beck after the show.

Scientists have discovered 2.52 billion-year-old bacteria fossils which show that some early life forms existed on Earth without any oxygen ... Researchers from the University of Cincinnati (UC) in the US found fossilised bacteria in two separate locations in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa.
