Shikarpur city in Sindh has 400 year old rich history. From the centuries this city was famous as a gate away for the business point of view.
Traders from all over South east asia passed through this city via Bolan to Iran and other countries.
Before the partition in 1947, Shikarpur was a great city with rich culture, wonderful architectural buildings, fabulous parks, mouth-watering cuisines, and also famous for their Kulfi and Pickles.
It was called "The Paris of Sindh".
A city which was made by their own people, without the help of the state. But now the situation in Shikarpur is terrible. Law and order situation is alarming.
Its looks like many Shikarpurin's has lost the affection about their historical city.
Young and educated Shikarpurin's need to get unite to save this wonderful city, with amazing past.
At the end I am so thankful to Hisam Memon and Mumataz Mangi to help me to finish this video.

Sindhi people of Sindh, ancient historical land in south Pakistan (with capital in Karachi), one of five provinces of Pakistan. Home to 35 millions of Sindhi people. The region received its name, Sindh, from the River Sindhu (Indus), and the people living in the region are referred to as Sindhi. Sindh was ruled by local Hindu and Buddhist rulers until 712 CE, when it was invaded by the Arabs and incorporated into part of the Umayyad Caliphate, resulting in widespread conversions to Islam. However, a substantial number of Sindhis still retain their Hindu beliefs intertwined with elements of Sikhism, and are thus often regarded as simultaneously Hindu and Sehajdhari Sikh.

The two main and highest ranked Rajput or Jamote tribes of Sindh are: the Soomra - descendants of the Soomra Dynasty, who ruled Sindh during (970 - 1351 A.D.) and the second is Samma - descendants of the Samma Dynasty, who ruled Sindh during (1351 - 1521 A.D.). During the Kalhora rule, a number of Jat tribes such as the Sials, Joyas and Khawars came from the Punjab and settled in Sindh. They are called the Seraiki (i.e., people from the north), and speak Seraiki. This group overlaps and is sometimes considered transitional between the Punjabis and Sindhi people.
Muslim Sindhis tend to have traditional Muslim first names, sometimes with localized variations. Most Sindhis have tribal and clan names as their surnames. Nearly forty percent of Sindhis have Baloch tribal names. Hindu Sindhis tend to have surnames that end in '-ani' (a variant of 'anshi', derived from the Sanskrit word 'ansh', which means 'descended from'). The first part of a Sindhi Hindu surname is usually derived from the name or location of an ancestor. In northern Sindh, surnames ending in 'ja' (meaning 'of') are also common. A person's surname would consist of the name of his or her native village, followed by 'ja'.
Sindh is the most prosperous province of Pakistan. Pakistan's political scene has been dominated by Sindhi politicians, including Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto.

Sindh (pronounced [sɪnd̪ʱ]; Sindhi: سنڌ; Urdu: سندھ Indica in Latin, Indus in Greek) is one of the four provinces of Pakistan and historically is home to the Sindhi people. It is also locally known as the "Mehran" and has been given the title of Bab-ul-Islam (The gateway of Islam). The name of Sindh is derived from the Indus River that separates it from Balochistan and the greater Iranian Plateau. This river was known to the ancient Iranians in Avestan as Indus, in Sanskrit as Sindhu, to Assyrians (as early as the seventh century BC) as Sinda, to the Greeks as Indos, to the Romans as Indus, to the Persians as Ab-e-sind, to the Pashtuns as "Abasind", to the Arabs as Al-Sind, to the Chinese as Sintow, and to the Javanese as the Santri.
Sindh is bounded to the west by the Indus River and Balochistan, to the north by Punjab, the east by the Indian states of Gujarat and Rajasthan and to the south by the Arabian Sea. The capital of the province is Karachi, Pakistan's largest city and financial hub. Most of the population in the province is Muslim, with sizeable Christian, Zoroastrian and Hindu minorities. The main language spoken is Sindhi by about 40 million people, while there exists a significant Urdu-speaking minority.

Shikarpur city in Sindh has 400 year old rich history. From the centuries this city was famous as a gate away for the business point of view. Traders from all over South east asia passed through this city via Bolan to Iran and other countries. Before the partition in 1947, Shikarpur was a great city with rich culture, wonderful architectural buildings, fabulous parks, mouth-watering cuisines, and also famous for their Kulfi and Pickles. It was called "The Paris of Sindh". A city which was made by their own people, without the help of the state. But now the situation in Shikarpur is terrible. Law and order situation is alarming. Its looks like many Shikarpurin's has lost the affection about their historical city. Young and educated Shikarpurin's need to get unite to save this... -

Sindhi people of Sindh, ancient historical land in south Pakistan (with capital in Karachi), one of five provinces of Pakistan. Home to 35 millions of Sindhi people. The region received its name, Sindh, from the River Sindhu (Indus), and the people living in the region are referred to as Sindhi. Sindh was ruled by local Hindu and Buddhist rulers until 712 CE, when it was invaded by the Arabs and incorporated into part of the Umayyad Caliphate, resulting in widespread conversions to Islam. The city was founded in 1768 by Mian Ghulam Shah Kalhoro upon the ruins of a Mauryan fishing village along the bank of the Indus known as Neroon Kot ( نيرُون ڪوٽ). Formerly the capital of Sindh, it serves as the headquarters of the district of Hyderabad. Before the creation of Pakistan, it was known as the Paris of India, for its roads used to be washed with river water. -

The two main and highest ranked Rajput or Jamote tribes of Sindh are: the Soomra - descendants of the Soomra Dynasty, who ruled Sindh during (970 - 1351 A.D.) and the second is Samma - descendants of the Samma Dynasty, who ruled Sindh during (1351 - 1521 A.D.). During the Kalhora rule, a number of Jat tribes such as the Sials, Joyas and Khawars came from the Punjab and settled in Sindh. They are called the Seraiki (i.e., people from the north), and speak Seraiki. This group overlaps and is sometimes considered transitional between the Punjabis and Sindhi people.
Muslim Sindhis tend to have traditional Muslim first names, sometimes with localized variations. Most Sindhis have tribal and clan names as their surnames. Nearly forty percent of Sindhis have Baloch tribal names. Hindu Sindhis tend to have surnames that end in '-ani' (a variant of 'anshi', derived from the Sanskrit word 'ansh', which means 'descended from'). The first part of a Sindhi Hindu surname is usually derived from the name or location of an ancestor. In northern Sindh, surnames ending in 'ja' (meaning 'of') are also common. A person's surname would consist of the name of his or her native village, followed by 'ja'.
Sindh is the most prosperous province of Pakistan. Pakistan's political scene has been dominated by Sindhi politicians, including Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto.

The two main and highest ranked Rajput or Jamote tribes of Sindh are: the Soomra - descendants of the Soomra Dynasty, who ruled Sindh during (970 - 1351 A.D.) and the second is Samma - descendants of the Samma Dynasty, who ruled Sindh during (1351 - 1521 A.D.). During the Kalhora rule, a number of Jat tribes such as the Sials, Joyas and Khawars came from the Punjab and settled in Sindh. They are called the Seraiki (i.e., people from the north), and speak Seraiki. This group overlaps and is sometimes considered transitional between the Punjabis and Sindhi people.
Muslim Sindhis tend to have traditional Muslim first names, sometimes with localized variations. Most Sindhis have tribal and clan names as their surnames. Nearly forty percent of Sindhis have Baloch tribal names. Hindu Sindhis tend to have surnames that end in '-ani' (a variant of 'anshi', derived from the Sanskrit word 'ansh', which means 'descended from'). The first part of a Sindhi Hindu surname is usually derived from the name or location of an ancestor. In northern Sindh, surnames ending in 'ja' (meaning 'of') are also common. A person's surname would consist of the name of his or her native village, followed by 'ja'.
Sindh is the most prosperous province of Pakistan. Pakistan's political scene has been dominated by Sindhi politicians, including Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto.

Ram Jethmalani said that Sindh, particularly Karachi, had some great lawyers. "If they had been practising in Delhi or Bombay, would have probably been at the top."
He spoke about how Jinnah came thrice to Sindh after being engaged in some matters, and lost all three cases. "When Jinnah qualified for the Bar, he came to Karachi to practice. Jinnah belonged to the community of Khojas who were rich merchants and he expected to have a readymade clientele in Karachi. He went to a firm of Hindu lawyers called Harichandra and Co. Old Harichandra had interviewed him and once he said that he was perfectly qualified to practice, they had to settle the terms. Jinnah wanted hundred rupees, but the old Hindu miser was unwilling to go above seventy-five. I have always said, even in public, that Jinnah was not the cause of India's partition, but that old Hindu miser."
Jinnah was disgusted with losing matters in Sindh. Khan Bahadur Khuro, a powerful Muslim League leader, had been accused of murder. When he approached Jinnah to represent him, Jinnah declined, perhaps because he realised he was never going to win a case in Sindh.
Ram Jethmalani also spoke about Sindh being the cradle of Sufism, the gentlest form of Islam. He said that it was synonymous with the Kashmiriyat of Kashmir. Shah Abdul Latif, one of the greatest poets, was a product of Sindh. "We had developed a great synthesis between the two communities, that as a Hindu youngster, I would get my new clothes on Id and Muslin youngsters would get their clothes on Deepavali. Even when Partition had happened, and lakhs of people were getting killed, the Sindhi Muslim never killed a single Hindu. "
"Speaking for myself, for the sake of safety, I had brought my family to Bombay, but I had gone back to Sindh and continued my practice in the hope that things would become normal. I stayed till February 1948 and by that time a large number of Muslims had come from Bihar and other places to Sindh and that was the cause of great tension because they wanted Hindu properties.
"In February, when I was arguing a case in the Magistrate's court, my Pathan driver came in and said that the locality where I was living was in danger. I found on the way back that nobody was being hurt physically, but preparations had been made to rob all the property, to create fear and force Hindus to migrate. That is exactly what happened."
Ram Jethmalani's partner during his practice in Karachi was a secular Muslim gentleman and a great scholar - A K Brohi, who later piloted the first Constitution of Pakistan. "Seeing the incidents of February 1948, he said that he could no longer bear the responsibility of my safety. Then I left and settled down in Bombay and started practice." He said that there was a good bit of opposition but his attitude today was that he owed everything to the people of India.

Clean, contemporary, with warm hued interiors, this open-through-the-day restaurant serves specialities like Spiced Roti, Sindhi Curry, Ajwain Paratha and Aloo Tuk, which should be sampled at least once. Though for a place that serves Sindhi cuisine, one may wonder - Where's Sai Bhaji and Dhingri Mutter? An anomaly! You can also order a wholesome Meal Box (dal, two veggies, rice, papad, salad and a sweet) if you're not in a snacky mood. Burfis, Ghewar (available during Holi) and Halwa are also decent. They offer outdoor catering and banquet facilities as well.
Overall, Kailash Parbat is a nice vegetarian restaurant, best for its chaat and North Indian fare and is a family restro in all aspects.

It is Pakistan's centre of banking, industry, economic activity and trade and is home to Pakistan's largest corporations, including those involved in textiles, shipping, automotive industry, entertainment, the arts, fashion, advertising, publishing, software development and medical research. The city is a hub of higher education in South Asia and the Muslim world.
