Fans (album)

Fans is a 1984 album by Malcolm McLaren. It is an attempt to fuse opera with 1980s R&B and contains adaptations of pieces from famous operas such as Madama Butterfly and Carmen. The opera recordings were made at the Unitarian Church, Belmont, Massachusetts by Stephen Hague and Walter Turbitt.

Hugo (video game)

There are several Hugo video games based on early episodes of Interactive Television Entertainment's TV show Hugo, part of the international Hugo franchise. From 1992 to 2000, ITE developed and released versions for Amiga, Commodore 64 and PC, as well as the Game Boy and PlayStation consoles, exclusively for European markets. In 2011, Krea Media published a series of mobile game remakes for Android.

The games resemble those on the television show; in almost all of them, the player guides the titular protagonist (a small, friendly troll named Hugo) to save his wife and children from the evil witch Scylla. To rescue his family, Hugo must navigate safely through dangerous environments in various minigame scenarios.

History

Two Amiga games, Hugo (originally titled Hugo - PÃ¥ Nye Eventyr: Del 1) and its sequel, Hugo 2 (originally Hugo - PÃ¥ Nye Eventyr: Del 2) were released in 1992. These were re-released as a 1994 compilation, Hugo (Hugo PÃ¥ Nye Eventyr), and ported to the PC in 1995-1996. Both games were similar to the TV show where the contestant would try to completes arcade sequences to collect points and avoid obstacles using a phone, and the ending minigames are identical. Later PC releases included Hugo 3 to Hugo 6, Hugo: Wild River (1998), and their upgraded compilations Hugo Gold (1998), Hugo Platin (1999) and Hugo XL (1999).

Hugo: Man of a Thousand Faces

Hugo: Man of a Thousand Faces, was a lifelike doll produced by Kenner toy company in 1975. It included many accessories, such as goatee and sideburns, which could be glued onto his bald head, creating a variety of looks. Hugo has since become a highly sought-after toy on the collector's market.

About

Hugo was created by Alan Ormsby and produced by Kenner toy company in 1975. The Hugo doll featured lifelike facial characteristics, and came with a makeup kit, wig, glasses, and several different glue-on accessories. He was housed in a large box showing him in different disguises, and had a soft rubber head and plastic hard hands. His arms were stuffed with cotton wool - international variants having plastic arms.

Collector's Market

Hugo has become a highly sought-after toy on the collector's market, especially on sites such as eBay.

Finding a set with all the accessories is difficult, since the special nontoxic glue (as stated in the instruction booklet) used to stick his disguises is usually dry after the time passed. Both the Kenner and Denys fisher boxes are identical except for the logos of each of the toy companies.

Metro Station (album)

Metro Station is the eponymously titled debut length album by pop band Metro Station. The album was released on September 18, 2007 under Columbia/Red Ink.

Four singles were released from the album; "Shake It" and "Seventeen Forever" charted on the Billboard Hot 100. The album debuted at #189 on the U.S. Billboard 200, but reached a peak of #39 in June 2008. The single "Shake It" was certified Platinum in 2008. Since its release, Metro Station has sold approximately 400,000 copies in the United States.

The album was released in the UK on March 30, 2009. The version of the album released in the UK contains 2 exclusive bonus tracks including a brand new track, "After the Fall". The first UK single, "Shake It", was released a week before, on March 23, 2009.

Khud-Daar

Khud-Daar (Hindi: ख�द�दार) is a 1982 Indian Hindi movie directed by Ravi Tandon. The music is by Rajesh Roshan and the lyrics by Majrooh Sultanpuri. The film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Parveen Babi, Vinod Mehra, Sanjeev Kumar, Prem Chopra, Mehmood, Bindiya Goswami and Tanuja in pivotal roles. It was remade in Tamil as Padikkadhavan which starred Rajinikanth and in Telugu as Driver Babu with Sobhan Babu.

It was released during the week when Amitabh Bachchan was critically injured while shooting for the film 'Coolie' in Bangalore. The movie ran for packed houses for many weeks and was declared 'Super Hit'.

Plot

Govind (Amitabh Bachchan) and Rajesh (Vinod Mehra) are two brothers who are happy being brought up by their considerably older stepbrother Hari (Sanjeev Kumar). However, when Hari has to leave home for two months to complete his law degree, his newly married wife Seema (Tanuja), jealous of her husband's excessive affection for the two, misbehaves with them, forcing them to leave home and escape to Mumbai.

Disco 45

Disco 45 was a music magazine published monthly in the United Kingdom in the 1970s. It was best known for printing the lyrics of pop songs of the time. It was published by the Trevor Bolton Partnership of Rye, Sussex (UK).

History and profile

Disco 45 was established in 1970. Issue 1 was published in December 1970 and featured a photo of Mick Jagger on the front cover and the lyrics from songs by Jimmy Ruffin, Cat Stevens, Don Partridge, Roger Whittaker, Pickettywitch, Stevie Wonder, Creedence Clearwater Revival and others. Each issue published the lyrics of the popular songs.

It was originally priced at 1 shilling, changing to 5p post-decimalisation.
