Elder or Élder is a masculine given name which may refer to:
Élder Alencar Machado de Campos (born 19 July 1976), commonly known as Élder, is a former Brazilian footballer.
Élder played for Vasco, Santos, Juventude, Guarani and Criciúma in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A. He also spent one season with Giannina and one with Kallithea in the Greek Super League. He later moved to Hungary where he played for Lombard-Pápa.
An elder in Christianity is a person who is valued for wisdom and holds a position of responsibility in a Christian group. In some Christian traditions (e.g., Eastern Orthodoxy, Roman Catholicism, Anglicanism, Methodism) an elder is a ordained person who usually serves a local church or churches and who has been ordained to a ministry of word, sacrament and order, filling the preaching and pastoral offices. In other Christian traditions (e.g., Presbyterianism, Baptists), an elder may be a lay person charged with serving as an administrator in a local church, or be ordained to such an office, also serving in the preaching (in this case referring to teaching done during church gatherings) and/or pastoral roles. Though there is technically a distinction between the idea of ordained elders and lay elders, often the two concepts are conflated in everyday conversation (for example, a lay elder in the Baptist tradition may still be referred to as being "clergy", especially in America). Particularly in reference to age and experience, elders exist throughout world cultures, and the Christian sense of elder is partially related to this.
Alibi is a 1928 play by Michael Morton based on The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, a novel by British crime writer Agatha Christie.
It opened at the Prince of Wales Theatre in London's West End on 15 May 1928, starring Charles Laughton as Hercule Poirot. It was deemed a success and ran for 250 performances closing on 7 December 1928. It was the first work of Agatha Christie's to be presented on stage and the first ever adaptation of one of her works for any medium outside of her books. Retitled The Fatal Alibi, the play was first presented on Broadway in February 1932; the production was directed by Laughton, who reprised the role of Poirot.
Christie disagreed with the change of her favourite character Caroline Sheppard, the inspiration for Miss Marple, into a beautiful girl called Caryl Sheppard. She only permitted this change because the alternative was turning Poirot into a young man called Beau Poirot and having "lots of girls in love with him". The other major changes from the book were:
"Alibi" is the eighth episode of the eleventh season of the American police procedural drama NCIS, and the 242nd episode overall. It originally aired on CBS in the United States on November 12, 2013. The team goes out to investigate a fatal hit and run near Quantico involving the victim who is Petty Officer Third Class Jodie Ray and they eventually manage to gather enough evidence to lead them to Marine Staff Sergeant Justin Dunne. After being arrested, Dunne requests an attorney, and hires former FBI agent Carrie Clark, who also happens to be an old acquaintance of the team. Dunne tells Carrie that he has an alibi, in that he was involved in a murder outside of the base at the time of the hit and run, and that somebody else must have stolen his truck. Due to attorney-client privilege, Carrie cannot tell Gibbs and the team anything about Dunne's crime other than he has a solid alibi. However, she manages to leave small, subtle clues for the team to follow. The team then discovers Dunne indeed was not driving his truck at the time of the hit and run, and manage to track down and arrest Marine Private Daniel Cliff who stole it.
"Alibi" is a pop / dance song released in 2013 by the Swedish singer of Persian origin Eddie Razaz. He had been a contestant in Swedish Idol 2009 finishing sixth and eventually forming the duo REbound! with fellow Idol contestant Rabih Jaber. After breaking-up, Razaz had decided to go on with a solo career.
Razaz took part in Melodifestivalen 2013 on 16 February 2013, in a bid to represent Sweden in Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö, Sweden. The song co-written by Thomas G:son and Peter Boström and performed by Razaz in the third semi-final leg of the competition failed to move forward to the finals.
Despite the song not qualifying to the national finals of Melodifestivalen, it proved very popular with the Swedish public and the song charted in the Sverigetopplistan official Swedish Singles Chart at the end of the competition in March 2013. It is Razaz' first charting single after break-up of REbound!
I always tried
I tried to find a reason
Can't seem to find a reason why
I was mistaken
Taken for the foolish kind
I never had a chance to try
Exception hard to find
You tried to change my mind
Your deception
Your mission
Your alibi
Another season
Another theme you're preachin'
Can't seem to find a reason why
It irritates me
The shallow messages you say
The wisdom of a foolish mind
You amaze me
You're hearing nothing I say
And then you tell me it's a lie
I was mistaken
Taken for the foolish guy
You never tried to look inside
Exception hard to find
You tried to change my mind
Your deception
Your mission
Your alibi
Exception hard to find
You can't explain it to me
You tried to change my mind
Can't understand a word you say
Your deception
Your mission
Your alibi
Exception hard to find
You tried to change my mind
Your deception
Your mission
