REXBURG -- A call made to 911 by a man moments before he and a friend were arrested for trafficking 20 pounds of marijuana has many shaking their heads. The call, released by the Rexburg Police Department and obtained exclusively by EastIdahoNews.com, was made by 22-year-old Leland Ayala-Doliente on Jan. 23, 2015. Ayala-Doliente was traveling from Las Vegas, NV to Bozeman, MT with 23-year-old Holland Sward. Court documents show the men were using marijuana during their trip and when they entered Idaho, they felt they were being followed by undercover police officers. Once they reached Rexburg, the pair exited Highway 20, parked their car and called 911. Here’s some of the phone call: Ayala-Dolitente: Hi, uh, we’re the two dumb asses that got caught trying to bring some stuff through your border and all your cops are just driving around us like a bunch of jack wagons and I’d just like for you guys to end it. If you could help me out with that, we would like to just get on with it. Dispatcher: You got caught doing what? Ayala-Dolitente: Ahh…okay. Um…We kind of got spooked here trying to bring some stuff across your Idaho border. Dispatcher: Ok. Ayala-Dolitente: And, yeah. A bunch of your cops driving around in a bunch of civilian cars not wanting to pick us up. I don’t know what’s the deal. I was just wondering if you could help us out and just end it. Dispatcher: Ok…um…. Ayala-Dolitente: Yeah…if you could call one of them. I don’t know. It’s getting cold out here man. I just want to get warm and just get on with this whole thing so… Dispatcher: Ok. Where you at right now? Ayala-Dolitente: University Boulevard right next to the gas station and Applebee’s. All your buddies are around us so if you could help us out that’d be great. Dispatcher: Ok…alright. Is it just you or is there anybody else with you? Ayala-Dolitente: It’s me and my buddy that I brought with me and then we have a dog that we were gonna bring back to it’s owner but… Dispatcher: Oh ok. Ayala-Dolitente: She’s a really nice dog. She’s not mean. She’s a pitbull… Dispatcher: Oh…cool. Ayala-Dolitente: She’s really cool in the car. She could just some food too. Dispatcher: Ok. What was your name man? Ayala-Dolitente: It’s LeLand. Dispatcher: Leland…okay. Hold on just one second okay. Stay on the phone with me. Ayala-Dolitente: Alright. Thank you. (speaking to Sward) He’s a nice guy. Want me to jump in the air and click my heels twice or what? Dispatcher: Do you guys have any guns or weapons or anything on you at all? Ayala-Dolitente: Nope we don’t have any of that stuff with us. Just a bunch of snacks and stuff. Dispatcher: Alright. I just wanna make sure. They’re just curious. Ayala-Dolitente: Yeah, yeah. We tried walking away from the car a couple times and that didn’t work. We tried waving them down and that didn’t work so I don’t know what’s going on here. Dispatcher: Ok. I do have one of my marked units. He’s on his way over there so he’s on his way to meet you. Ayala-Dolitente: Alright. Thank you. When police officers arrived, they say both men had their hands behind their heads. Court documents show Sward said to an officer, “We got caught and we’re surrendering.” Investigators found 20 pounds of marijuana inside a dog cage that the suspects had placed on the sidewalk. Ayala-Dolitente and Sward were each charged with one felony count of trafficking marijuana. Sward pleaded guilty to possession with intent to deliver, amended down from an original charge. Sward was given a five-year sentence to prison. District Judge Greg Moeller suspended the judgment and placed Sward on probation for five years and ordered him to serve 30 days in jail. Ayala-Doliente was sentenced to 1 1/2 to eight years in prison. Moeller increased the sentence after Ayala-Doliente tested positive for marijuana, cocaine and oxycodone on his sentencing day.

Members of an anti-government militia have occupied the headquarters of Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in a remote region of eastern Oregon for over a week, protesting what they claim is an overreaching federal government. The occupation is being led by Ammon Bundy and his brother Ryan, two sons of Cliven Bundy, a Nevada rancher best known for an armed standoff with the federal government in 2014 over a cattle grazing dispute. The protest was sparked by the re-sentencing of two Oregon ranchers, Dwight Hammond Jr. and his son Steven, to five years in a federal prison for deliberately starting fires on their property that spread to the bordering Malheur Wildlife Refuge. While the media has referred to the situation as an armed standoff, more specifically, the "Oregon Standoff," the federal authorities have kept their distance, and the local authorities, led by Harney County Sheriff David Ward, are also treading lightly. VICE News traveled to Harney County, Oregon to meet with militia leaders, attend town hall meetings, and speak with local ranchers whom the protesters claim to be representing. The Beaver Creek Fire in Idaho is the nation's top-priority wildfire, in part because it's burning so close to homes and subdivisions. Early on Saturday, the firefight was hampered by thick smoke that engulfed Hailey, a town with 7900 inhabitants 14 miles south of Ketchum, home of the Sun Valley Ski Resort. Smoke stretching across the Big Wood River Valley also grounded the air attack on the blaze, putting more pressure on fire crews building fire lines on the ground. But by midday, the smoke cleared enough to scramble helicopters that targeted fires burning in the mountains and foothills that shoulder Hailey and north to Ketchum. Lightning ignited the blaze on 7 August and fire officials estimated it grew to 144 square miles by late Friday, fed by dry timber and underbrush. They expected a more accurate size assessment after a plane with infrared cameras flies over the burn late on Saturday. The fire, which is only six per cent contained, forced the evacuation of 2300 residences in Ketchum. Ketchum, with a population of 2700, and Sun Valley, with 1400 people, were under "pre-evacuation orders", with authorities telling residents to be ready to leave if necessary. In all, more than 700 firefighters have been deployed to the mountains west of the affluent region, where celebrities like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tom Hanks and Bruce Willis own pricey getaways. Five more hotshot crews arrived on Saturday and more were expected to arrive later this weekend to continue focusing on protecting homes in a sparsely populated Blaine county that boasts more than $8 billion in taxable property. In northern Utah, meanwhile, about 10 homes were confirmed destroyed on Saturday after a wildfire raced through the community of Willow Springs late the previous day. As of midday on Saturday, the Patch Springs Fire in Tooele County had burned more than 50 square miles and was only 20 per cent contained.

The man was hiking, and his dogs jumped in to the water not knowing the water was now boiling. The "official" story is that the "cold water" that normally goes in to the spring may be not so cold due to the drought, however this is just speculation, not based on any real science data. More about the location....... This location is also along the Western portion of the newly discovered much larger magma chamber of the Yellowstone Supervolcano, now confirmed to reach down over 30 miles, and cover an overall mass of 11+ Grand Canyons worth of magma below the ground across central Idaho, reaching North into Montana from Wyoming.
