There is much more to Islam than beheadings, genital
mutilation and holy wars. "New Atheist" critics of Islam
seem to believe that from some verses in the Qur’an, we can
deduce the behavior of most of that fifth of the human
population that identifies themselves as “Moslem.” This, of
course, is plain nonsense.

According to a Pew Research
poll, 92% of Americans asked this question, answered in the
affirmative. But did any of those individuals polled pause
to ask: “Just what do you mean by ‘God’?” For many
significant individuals in history along with many
thoughtful individuals today, no simple answer can be given
to the question, “Do You Believe in God?.”

It's
the Stupid, Stupid. The U.S., in the past few years
having virtually exited from wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, has
now initiated a new, two-headed war in Syria and Iraq. Have we
learned nothing from the quagmire campaigns in Vietnam, Iraq,
Afghanistan? Behaving this way is the very definition of
"stupid."
