The Boeing multi-purpose tanker, the KC-46A Pegasus, performed its first ever aerial refueling January 24th, 2016 on a U.S. Air Force F-16 fighter.
Captured over the summer is the trusty and reliable Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker along with the Boeing KC-46A Pegasus prototype that'll eventually be replacing the 135 for the US Air Force.

The aircraft starts engines and comes out of the stall for a serious of taxi and high speed taxi testing before returning to the flightline. The KC-46A is based off the Boeing 767-200 and will be the replacement to the aging Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker fleet.

Test pilots conducted a four-hour flight, during which they performed a series of system checks before landing four hours later at Boeing Field in Seattle.

A true moment in aviation history when the Boeing KC-46A Pegasus N461FT Experimental aircraft departs Paine Field for its first flight on December 28, 2014. Look at how proud the Boeing employees who built this aircraft line the berm at the Future of Flight to see their creation come to life!
The Boeing KC-46A is based off the 767-200 and will be the replacement to the aging KC-10 and KC-135 fleet. As you see the aircraft upclose you'll notice there's no boom which will be installed at a later date and operated by computer screen rather than glass.
After its departure from Paine Field, the KC46 flew through its test procedures as well as showed off for some footage on film via chase aircraft. Rather than finishing up at KPAE, the experimental aircraft finished up at KBFI Boeing Field where it'll further continue testing.

A true moment in aviation history when the Boeing KC-46A Pegasus N461FT Experimental aircraft departs Paine Field for its first flight on December 28, 2014. Look at how proud the Boeing employees who built this aircraft line the berm at the Future of Flight to see their creation come to life!
The Boeing KC-46A is based off the 767-200 and will be the replacement to the aging KC-10 and KC-135 fleet. As you see the aircraft upclose you'll notice there's no boom which will be installed at a later date and operated by computer screen rather than glass.
After its departure from Paine Field, the KC46 flew through its test procedures as well as showed off for some footage on film via chase aircraft. Rather than finishing up at KPAE, the experimental aircraft finished up at KBFI Boeing Field where it'll further continue testing.
