CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA — A 37-year-old father was arrested for an overdue VHS rental of the critically panned comedy "Freddy Got Fingered" last week.
According to NBC News, James Meyer Jr. was booked for the misdemeanor offence after police ran his license during a traffic stop concerning a broken tail light on Meyer's vehicle. Meyers was taking his 10-year-old daughter to school at the time. He wasn't arrested at the scene, but was later served with the warrant for his arrest at the police station. "I don't remember ever owning it, renting it, or watching it," Meyers told NBC News.
Meyers, who works as a DJ under the name "Mad Influence" could reportedly receive a criminal record for the case if it's not dismissed. But prosecutors says this is unlikely because it will be hard to show that he held onto the tape all this time, NBC News reported. In addition, the place he rented the video from has gone out of business. After hearing about the story, Tom Green — the star of the movie — offered to help pay Meyers' legal fees, reported NBC News, citing the New York Times.
Despite the arrest, Meyers seems to be benefitting from his newfound fame and has done the rounds on media outlets across the U.S. According to a post on his Mad Influence Facebook page, he scored tickets to the opening of the musical "American Psycho."

Story:

Mit Ti West, Joe Swanberg, Radio Silence, David Bruckner, Adam Wingard und Glenn McQuaid standen namhafte Regisseure des Genres hinter der Kamera. Da haben sich einige kreative Köpfe zusammengetan, um das mittlerweile etwas ausgelutschte Found-Footage-Genre wiederzubeleben, denn der Trailer lässt immerhin Gutes hoffen.

Are VHS video cassettes ripe for a retro comeback like vinyl? Probably not, but they are a very cheap (or even free) way to collect movies from the '80s and '90s, and the quality may be better than you remember, especially if you never got to experience a Hi-Fi Stereo VCR played through a surround sound system.

This opening is just a small part of a collaboration project made up by Charles Huettner, Ivan Dixon and James Hatley.
The original idea was to invite some animators to produce, in their own style, a short story in the Simpsons universe.
Despite the fact that the project hasn't been achieved, I wanted to finish what I started.

CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA — A 37-year-old father was arrested for an overdue VHS rental of the critically panned comedy "Freddy Got Fingered" last week. According to NBC News, James Meyer Jr. was booked for the misdemeanor offence after police ran his license during a traffic stop concerning a broken tail light on Meyer's vehicle. Meyers was taking his 10-year-old daughter to school at the time. He wasn't arrested at the scene, but was later served with the warrant for his arrest at the police station. "I don't remember ever owning it, renting it, or watching it," Meyers told NBC News. Meyers, who works as a DJ under the name "Mad Influence" could reportedly receive a criminal record for the case if it's not dismissed. But prosecutors says this is unlikely because it will be hard to show ... -

This is a "what if" video of a FROZEN commercial on a VHS. Yes it is FAKE. I'm not trying to fool anyone. I just made it for fun because I'm a Disney fan and I like the movie Frozen. I grew up with Disney on VHS and I miss the commercials. They're just as memorable as the movies themselves. I used the song "I want to know what love is" because Olaf tells Anna "Wow you really don't know what love is." I actually did record this on a VHS and made it a digital file. The original idea was to invite some animators to produce, in their own style, a short story in the Simpsons universe.

This is a "what if" video of a FROZEN commercial on a VHS. Yes it is FAKE. I'm not trying to fool anyone. I just made it for fun because I'm a Disney fan and I like the movie Frozen. I grew up with Disney on VHS and I miss the commercials. They're just as memorable as the movies themselves. I used the song "I want to know what love is" because Olaf tells Anna "Wow you really don't know what love is."
I actually did record this on a VHS and made it a digital file.
I hope you can enjoy it and appreciate the effort before you hit 'dislike'. Thanks :)

A North Carolina man said he was arrested for failing to return a VHS tape that he rented in 2002.
James Meyers said he was driving his daughter to school on Tuesday when a police officer pulled him over for a defective tail light.
He said the officer told him there was a warrant out for his arrest from 2002, because Meyers had rented the movie Freddy Got Fingered starring Tom Green and never returned it.
Meyers said the officer let him take his daughter to school and go to work, as long as he promised to turn himself in to the police department later that day.
Meyers showed media outlets the arrest warrant on Wednesday. He was booked on a charge of failure to return rental property.

Greece is pressing ahead with plans to start deporting migrants and refugees back to Turkey next week, despite mounting concern from the United Nations and human rights organizations that Syrians could be denied proper protection while some are allegedly even being forced back into their war-torn country ... The operation would see migrants and refugees who arrived on Greek islands after March 20 put on boats and sent back to Turkey....
