Ajoka has welcomed the New Year with renewed vigour and determination to promote the cause of peace and social change through theatre. It has made ambitious and exciting plans for the year. It marked the New Year with a unique new play on the life of mystic poet BhagatKabir. It also held a theatre for Peace workshop in January 2016. During the year, Ajoka will hold workshops, new plays, festivals and tour different parts of Pakistan and India. Ajoka is happy to have a number of talented and committed young people who have joined Ajoka and have already made significant contribution in recent productions. International recognition accorded to Ajoka with the adaptation of its play "Dara" by the National Theatre, London and tour of US with "AmrikaChalo" , continues to grow. "Dara" has been selected for dramatic reading at an international festival in New York and the play has also been invited by the University of North Carolina, USA. Several of Ajoka plays have been translated and included in anthologies of plays. The plays include Dara, Dekh Tamasha and Border Border. Ajoka is proud to be able to effectively and creatively project the rich and proud heritage of Pakistan and represent the ambition of Pakistanis to build a peaceful, tolerant and progressive society.
