Hinduism is the oldest spiritual tradition of this world and is all about liberty and freedom to carve one's own path to divine.It has no concept of apostasy or blasphemy or even conversion! But without any push towards conversion it is winning hearts and minds of people all over the world by it's teaching,love and philosophy alone.
Liberty is gr8est asset of humanity and no liberty is gr8er than liberty of choosing your Gods/Goddesses or none!!That is Hinduism-Liberty and Liberation!!
Hinduism is not just a faith. It is the union of reason and intuition that can not be defined but is only to be experienced. Evil and error are not ultimate. There is no Hell, for that means there is a place where God is not, and there are sins which exceed his love.
Hindu texts laugh at religions as being the dogma of self-righteous fools and emphasize on Dharma-the righteous way. Hinduism is just a convenient label for the worlds oldest spiritual and philosophical tradition.
Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Jainism, Shintoism,Confucianism and other eastern spiritual traditions are not religions but Dharma. They laugh at religions as being the dogma of self-righteous fools and emphasize on Dharma-the righteous way.
Together they form the core of Dharmic civilization and which we all must protect and nourish. A better humanity can only be build on the basis of Dharma.

"The History of Hindu India" (Part One) was developed by the editors of Hinduism Today magazine in collaboration with Dr. Shiva Bajpai, Professor Emeritus of History, California State University Northridge. It is intended to provide an authentic presentation of the early history of India and Hinduism for use in American 6th grade social study classes, as well as Hindu temple study groups and general presentations on the Hindu religion and history.
This documentary is based on the first chapter of the textbook, The History of Hindu India, published in 2011. It covers Indian history from the Indus-Saraswati Civilization up to the Gupta period (to 300 ce). The Hindu concept of God is explained, along with the key concepts of karma, dharma, ahimsa and reincarnation, the practice of temple worship, major saints and the main Hindu scriptures.

This documentary is directed and produced by Sushma Khadepaun; produced and narrated by Roger (Raj) Narayan. Hindu denominations
Hinduism is the dominant religion of the Indian subcontinent. It comprises three major traditions, Shaivism, Vaishnavism and Shaktism, whose followers considered Shiva, Vishnu and Shakti (also called as Devi) to be the supreme deity respectively. Most of the other deities were either related to them or different forms (incarnations) of these deities. Hinduism has been called the "oldest religion" in the world, and many practitioners refer to Hinduism as "the eternal law". (Sanātana Dharma).
Hindus are persons that believe they may obtain moksha (union with Brahman) by practicing either good karma, bhakti, or jnana. The main denominations of Hinduism are Vaishnavism, Shaivism, Shaktism, and Smartism. These four denominations may share rituals, beliefs, and traditions, but each denomination has a different philosophy on how to achieve life's ultimate goal, Atma Jnana (self-realization). There are also smaller denominations, and newer movements. Cross-denominational influences are the Bhakti-movement, and the six orthodox schools of thought.

Indian philosophy
Indian philosophy (Sanskrit: darśana) comprises the philosophical traditions of the Indian subcontinent. Since medieval India (ca.1000–1500), schools of Indian philosophical thought have been classified by the Brahmanical tradition as either orthodox or non-orthodox – āstika or nāstika – depending on whether they regard the Vedas as an infallible source of knowledge. There are six schools of orthodox Hindu philosophy—Nyaya, Vaisheshika, Samkhya, Yoga, Mīmāṃsā and Vedanta—and three heterodox schools—Jain, Buddhist and Cārvāka. However, there are other methods of classification; Vidyaranya for instance identifies sixteen schools of Indian philosophy by including those that belong to the Śaiva and Raseśvara traditions.
The main schools of Indian philosophy were formalised chiefly between 1000 BCE to the early centuries of the Common Era. According to philosopher Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the earliest of these, which date back to the composition of the Upanishads in the later Vedic period (1000–500 BCE), constitute "the earliest philosophical compositions of the world." Competition and integration between the various schools was intense during their formative years, especially between 800 BCE and 200 CE. Some schools like Jainism, Buddhism, Śaiva and Advaita Vedanta survived, but others, like Samkhya and Ājīvika, did not; they were either assimilated or went extinct. Subsequent centuries produced commentaries and reformulations continuing up to as late as the 20th century by Sri Aurobindo and Prabhupāda among others.

"The History of Hindu India" (Part One) was developed by the editors of Hinduism Today magazine in collaboration with Dr. Shiva Bajpai, Professor Emeritus of History, California State University Northridge. It is intended to provide an authentic presentation of the early history of India and Hinduism for use in American 6th grade social study classes, as well as Hindu temple study groups and general presentations on the Hindu religion and history.
This documentary is based on the first chapter of the textbook, The History of Hindu India, published in 2011. It covers Indian history from the Indus-Saraswati Civilization up to the Gupta period (to 300 ce). The Hindu concept of God is explained, along with the key concepts of karma, dharma, ahimsa and reincarnation, the practice of temple worship, major saints and the main Hindu scriptures.

This fighting art was only used by a special class of warriors in ancient times of war to protect their king and masters -they would fight to the death.
Practitioners of this art believe that animals are the best fighters because they're natural and don't have to think about what they're doing. They simply...act -instinctively!
The British outlawed this art, out of fear while they occupied India.
Martial artists of this style don't normally train with metal weapons until they've practiced for 6 years with the standard wooden ones.
Jimmy Smith, the professional MMA fighter has a large Ganesh ("Remover of Obstacles" elephant god) tattoo on his back!
Interestingly, on observation and analysis of the movements involved, many say that Kalarippayattu is the source of modern Chinese kung-fu.

I have been studying Eastern Religions since 1999 and hold a Masters in Religious Studies. I am also currently in the final stages of my Doctorate at the University of Denver/Iliff School of Theology. I have taught both Eastern and Comparative Religions at the University level and have participated in yoga teacher-training programs and workshops for the last 4 years. My yoga lectures have included such topics as: Yoga Philosophy (Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, Upanisads, Tantra etc,), Sanskrit, Hindu Mythology, Asana Mythology, History of Yoga and Yoga in America.
Beyond the academic realm I am also a devout yoga practitioner and a yoga alliance certified instructor who continues to find inspiration in the wisdom and historical complexity of yoga’s physical and spiritual dimensions. My personal practice began in 2003 and I enjoy learning from and sharing with the yoga community through a variety of mediums.
