Negativland is an American experimental music band which originated in the San Francisco Bay Area in the late 1970s. They took their name from a Neu! track, while their record label (Seeland Records) is named after another Neu! track. The current core of the band consists of Mark Hosler, Richard Lyons, David Wills, aka The Weatherman and Peter Conheim.
Negativland has released a number of albums ranging from pure sound collage to more musical expositions. These have mostly been released on their own label, Seeland Records. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, they produced several recordings for SST Records, most notably Escape from Noise, Helter Stupid, and U2. Negativland were sued by the band U2's record label, Island Records, and by SST Records, which brought them widespread publicity and notoriety.
Negativland started in Concord, California, in 1979 around the core founding members of Lyons and Hosler (who were in high school at the time), and released an eponymous debut in 1980.
Points is an album by American jazz pianist Matthew Shipp recorded in 1990 and released on the Swedish Silkheart label.
Shipp cites the following influences in "Points": Andrew Hill, Duke Ellington, Nina Simone, Hasaan Ibn Ali, Scriabin and Debussy. Other influences are the most adventurous of Herbie Hancock's electronic endeavors, though Shipp himself does not use electronics in any way, the Coltrane's concept of Cosmic Music, and Nefertiti by the Miles Davis Second Quintet. Two painterly influences upon Shipp's work are: Jackson Pollock for his lyricism, space, organic form and body; and Mark Rothko for his chromatic color fields and religious brightness.
"Afro Sonic" was inspired by Randy Weston and utilizes the repetitive thematic pattern of a talking drum as its backbone. Shipp indicates that "Piano Pyramid" is a piece to present the trio in a true tradition as "best exemplified by Bud Powell".
In his review for AllMusic, Brian Olewnick states "Shipp would, to some extent, work his way out of this conundrum in ensuing years and fans of his work will want to hear Points at the very least for its historical value but, objectively, it's an inconsistent and not entirely original release."
HBO's Band of Brothers, a ten-part television World War II miniseries based on the book of the same title written by historian and biographer Stephen Ambrose, was executive produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks after their collaboration on the World War II film Saving Private Ryan (1998). The episodes first aired in 2001 on HBO and are still run frequently on various TV networks around the world.
The narrative centers on the experiences of E ("Easy") Company of the 2nd Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment assigned to the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army. The series covers Easy's basic training at Toccoa, Georgia, the American airborne landings in Normandy, Operation Market Garden, the Battle of Bastogne and on to the end of the war.
The events portrayed are based on Ambrose's research and recorded interviews with Easy Company veterans. A large amount of literary license was taken with the episodes, and other reference books will highlight the differences between recorded history and the film version. All of the characters portrayed are based on actual members of Easy Company; some of them can be seen in prerecorded interviews as a prelude to each episode (their identities, however, are not revealed until the final episode, although throughout the series, the men refer to each other by nicknames or their last names). Spielberg and Hanks produced a sequel miniseries called The Pacific that premiered in March 2010.
"Old" is a song recorded by American heavy metal band Machine Head. It was released as a single in two different versions. The title track is taken off of the 1994 album Burn My Eyes. It is the fourth track featured on the band's live album Hellalive, and the ninth track featured on the band's second live album Machine Fucking Head Live.

OLD (originally an acronym for Old Lady Drivers) was an American heavy metal band from Bergenfield, New Jersey, formed in 1986 and signed to Earache Records. It featured Alan Dubin on vocals, and James Plotkin on guitars and programming, both of whom would later form the experimental doom metal band Khanate.
OLD formed from the remains of Plotkin's previous band, the short-lived grindcore act "Regurgitation". OLD's first album, entitled "Total Hag", continued in the humorous, parodic style of grindcore which characterized Regurgitation's material.
After releasing a split EP with Assück in 1990, Plotkin recruited former Nirvana guitarist Jason Everman for their second album, Lo Flux Tube (1991). This album featured more avant-garde and industrial metal influences in addition to their basic tongue-in-cheek grindcore, giving them a sound which was compared by some reviewers to a more uptempo Godflesh. Lo Flux Tube also featured saxophone work by guest musician John Zorn.
Western was an American low-cost airline headquartered in Bellingham, Washington, and operated from a hub at Bellingham International Airport.
Officials of the Port of Bellingham had set the goal in 2004 of obtaining additional passenger service for Bellingham International Airport to destinations other that Seattle. In late 2005, the Port announced that it had entered into a lease with Western, a startup airline founded by two local businessmen with aviation experience.
On November 16, 2006, Western announced that they would begin flights in January from Bellingham International Airport to four vacation destinations; the fourth announced destination of Reno, Nevada was cancelled before the airline began service. Service began on January 18, 2007, with a flight from Bellingham to Ontario, California. Western operated as a "scheduled charter" service, with aircraft wet leased from Xtra Airways and was working through the process of gaining FAA approval as a commercial airline.
Sign is the seventh album by Clock DVA, released on August 3, 1993 through Contempo Records.
