The first ever episode of the 1986 comedy TV series "Sledge Hammer!", uploaded in full-length format, to save having to interrupt parts and find the next one.
Hammer (David Rasche) and his new partner Dory Doreau (Anne-Marie Martin) must rescue the mayor's daughter.
Masked terrorists break into the mayor's home and kidnap his daughter Francine. The next day, Mayor Flambo (John Vernon) receives a $1 million ransom demand from the kidnapper. Desperate, he turns on the news and sees an interview with Police Inspector Sledge Hammer, who has just gunned down two robbers. Impressed, Flambo tells Police Chief Reisner to get Hammer off of suspension and put him on the kidnapping case. Captain Trunk (Harrison Page) reluctantly agrees.....

A favorite episode from the second season of the 1987-88 comedy TV series "Sledge Hammer!", uploaded in full-length format, to save having to interrupt parts and find the next one.
The precinct thinks that Sledge (David Rasche) and Dori (Anne-Marie Martin) have slept together when all that appears on a surveillance tape is them drunk and in bed.
The misunderstanding arises when an old police force buddy of Trunk's (Harrison Page) turns up at the precinct, about to start his retirement. To be able to go out with a spectacular final case result, Roy Talbot (Stanley Brock) asks for the help of Hammer and Doreau in an undercover surveillance sting, based in the honeymoon suite of an hotel. They then have to pose as newly-weds - but things are not all they seem regarding the operation.....

David Rasche (born August 7, 1944) is an American actor.
Rasche was born in St. Louis, Missouri. His father was a minister and farmer. Rasche started in theatre, but also has appeared on numerous movies and television series. He became a member of the Chicago Second City, after John Belushi moved on to Saturday Night Live. He is perhaps best known for his portrayal of the title character in the cult television classic, Sledge Hammer!.
Rasche has a scholarly background (graduate degree from the University of Chicago) and also worked as a teacher and writer before going into show business full-time. After Second City, he starred in the Organic Theater's 1974 production of Mamet's "Sexual Perversity in Chicago," which established the playwright's characteristic blend of earthy, sometimes brutal dialogue. He later played to critical acclaim in the Broadway production of Mamet's "Speed-the-Plow", and an Off-Broadway revival of Mamet's Edmond. He was Petruchio to Frances Conroy's Kate in a production of Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew directed by Zoe Caldwell at the American Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford, Connecticut in the mid-1980s.

The first ever episode of the 1986 comedy TV series "Sledge Hammer!", uploaded in full-length format, to save having to interrupt parts and find the next one. Hammer (David Rasche) and his new partner Dory Doreau (Anne-Marie Martin) must rescue the mayor's daughter. Masked terrorists break into the mayor's home and kidnap his daughter Francine. The next day, Mayor Flambo (John Vernon) receives a $1 million ransom demand from the kidnapper. Desperate, he turns on the news and sees an interview with Police Inspector Sledge Hammer, who has just gunned down two robbers.
