Ganesha also spelled Ganesa, also known as Ganapati and Vinayaka is a widely worshipped deity in the Hindu pantheon.His image is found throughout India and Nepal. Hindu sects worship him regardless of affiliations. Devotion to Ganesha is widely diffused and extends to Jains, Buddhists, and beyond India.
Although he is known by many attributes, Ganesha's elephant head makes him easy to identify. Ganesha is widely revered as the remover of obstacles, the patron of arts and sciences and the deva of intellect and wisdom. As the god of beginnings, he is honoured at the start of rituals and ceremonies. Ganesha is also invoked as patron of letters and learning during writing sessions. Several texts relate mythological anecdotes associated with his birth and exploits and explain his distinct iconography.
Ganesha emerged as a distinct deity in the 4th and 5th centuries CE, during the Gupta Period, although he inherited traits from Vedic and pre-Vedic precursors. He was formally included among the five primary deities of Smartism (a Hindu denomination) in the 9th century. A sect of devotees called the Ganapatya arose, who identified Ganesha as the supreme deity. The principal scriptures dedicated to Ganesha are the Ganesha Purana, the Mudgala Purana, and the Ganapati Atharvashirsa.

Plot:

Lord Ganesha was the son of Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva. However at the time of his birth, Lord Shiva was not around, so when he came to visit Goddess Parvati, Ganesha did not recognise him and did not allow him to enter his mother's abode. Wild with rage, Lord Shiva severed Ganesha's head. Seeing her infant son dead, Goddess Parvati orders Lord Shiva to reincarnate her son. Lord Shiva therefore orders his servants to bring him the head of any infant. After his servants bring the head of a baby elephant, Lord Shiva merges it with Ganesha's body and brings him back to life much to the satisfaction of Goddess Parvati.

An under-construction flyover collapsed in one of Kolkata’s busiest roads on Thursday afternoon, killing one person while trapping several people under the debris.
PTI quoted police as saying one person was killed in the incident.
“Five persons were rushed to the hospital,” DC traffic V Solomon Neshakumar said. The collapse occurred in a congested area on Vivekananda Road in north Kolkata.
The flyover was set to be one of Kolkata’s longest, connecting Girish Park in north Kolkata to Howrah.
Rescue workers were seen trying to extract those trapped by cutting through stone slabs using heavy drilling machines. Personnel from disaster management authority rushed to the spot.
The Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority was building the flyover.

Delhi Ganesh (Tamil: டெல்லி கணேஷ்) a veteran Tamil Actor born in Tirunelveli , who mostly acts in supporting roles and is perhaps best known for his role in Kamal Hassan comedies and films like Nayagan and Michael Madana Kama Rajan. He has acted in more than 400 films from 1976 to present. He was a member of the 'Delhi' drama troupe called Dakshina Bharata Nataka Sabha (DBNS),. Ganesh worked in the Indian Air Force from 1964 to 1974 before quitting in favour of films.
He was introduced to Tamil Film Industry by Mr. K. Balachander in the film Pattana Pravesham (1976). His most popular roles have been as a supporting actor or a comedian but he has done villainous roles in films like Apoorva Sagodharargal (as Francis).
His most notable films are Sindhu Bhairavi, Nayagan, Michael Madana Kama Rajan, Ahaa and Thenali.
He is also a prominent Tamil teleserial actor who has acted in more than 8 major serials and is recently acting in fatherly roles in serials like Vasantham and Kasthuri in Sun TV.

Shatru scoffs at this, but gets concerned when his vehicle is blown up, and several of his goons end up dead. He confers with Satya, and together they decide to entrap Mass. While returning home, Priya watches Satya's goons taking Haftas from local businesses, and it is then she sees Ganesh, who is attempting to stop them. Priya does not know that she is headed for heartbreak for Ganesh has fallen in love with Satya's daughter, Anjali, who is not permitted to see Ganesh at any and all costs. When Shatru finds out Mass is Ganesh - he abducts Priya and another girl and holds them hostage and will only free them once he has Mass in his custody - so that he can first torture and then kill him.

Vishnu and Punit become close friends, though Punit is not asked to participate in any criminal activity. When Ganpat finds out that Punit's brother was a police informer, and his fiancee a policewoman, he instructs Vishnu to kill Punit, but Vishnu does not do so, and Ganpat issues instructions to have him killed also. In the meantime, Punit is abducted by Gangu Tai and held there. Gangu has taken a liking to Punit, as he reminds her of her son. When the police start an investigation against Gangu Tai, they assign Agni to go and arrest her, which she does. When Gangu is released, she herself has Agni abducted and tied up in her hide-out. Agni is shocked when she finds out that Punit is involved with some of Bombay's most wanted, and now Punit must decide to stay with Vishnu, Gangu, and Ganpat or else go back to Agni, if so, will the three permit him to do so?

Devastated, he returns home and gets another shock when he finds that the male Sharada has married is no other than his very own father. He gets depressed and takes to alcohol in a big way. Sharada talks him out of this, he repents, and on her insistence, gets married to Chanchal, the daughter of Hukumdas and Lajjo, who come from a wealthy background. Things then spiral out of control when Chanchal finds out that her husband and his step-mother had been in love before and may not have overcome their intimate feelings for each other.

Ganesh Talkies Under-construction flyover collapses Kolkata, 31 March 2016
An under-construction flyover collapsed in one of Kolkata’s busiest roads on Thursday afternoon, killing one person while trapping several people under the debris. PTI quoted police as saying one person was killed in the incident. “Five persons were rushed to the hospital,” DC traffic V Solomon Neshakumar said. The collapse occurred in a congested area on Vivekananda Road in north Kolkata. The flyover was set to be one of Kolkata’s longest, connecting Girish Park in north Kolkata to Howrah. Rescue workers were seen trying to extract those trapped by cutting through stone slabs using heavy drilling machines. Personnel from disaster management authority rushed to the spot. The Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority was building the flyover. -

Ganesha emerged as a distinct deity in the 4th and 5th centuries CE, during the Gupta Period, although he inherited traits from Vedic and pre-Vedic precursors. He was formally included among the five primary deities of Smartism (a Hindu denomination) in the 9th century. A sect of devotees called the Ganapatya arose, who identified Ganesha as the supreme deity. The principal scriptures dedicated to Ganesha are the Ganesha Purana, the Mudgala Purana, and the Ganapati Atharvashirsa.

An under-construction flyover collapsed in one of Kolkata’s busiest roads on Thursday afternoon, killing one person while trapping several people under the debris.
PTI quoted police as saying one person was killed in the incident.
“Five persons were rushed to the hospital,” DC traffic V Solomon Neshakumar said. The collapse occurred in a congested area on Vivekananda Road in north Kolkata.
The flyover was set to be one of Kolkata’s longest, connecting Girish Park in north Kolkata to Howrah.
Rescue workers were seen trying to extract those trapped by cutting through stone slabs using heavy drilling machines. Personnel from disaster management authority rushed to the spot.
The Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority was building the flyover.

And when we just couldn't stop gaping at this awesomeness, another awesomeness followed when the crowd stepped up the music and grooved for Tu tu tu, tu meri ri ri.. Ganesh was absolutely fantastic. Can we see more of him onscreen please? He is such a treat to watch. The swag dance came to an end, Ganesh took the mike up, Nisha broke into tears, and proposed to her all over again in the most amazing way possible. If this isn't love, what is? All you future grooms, please look at this video. Ganesh has set the bar REALLY high up, and it is going to be lots of hard work!

Several people are reported dead and many others injured after an under-construction flyover in Girish Park area in Kolkata collapsed.
10 people have died, according to news agency ANI while Kolkata Police has put the official death toll at three.
The flyover was constructed by the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority.
Injured have been sent to the Kolkata Medical college. Several cars and trucks are believed to have been crushed under the flyover
Currently, there are conflicting reports on the death toll. Local media reports say one person has died so far while news agency ANI pegs the casualty figure at 10. The death toll is expected to rise.
Construction of the flyover has been on for the last five years but was aborted due to local issues. The portion which collapsed was constructed 8-10 months ago.
This is the second such incident after a flyover near the Ultadanga region in the city had collapsed in 2011.

"I think at least 150 people are under the debris," said a witness.
Efforts are on to rescue those who are trapped under the debris.
Some workers have been pulled out from under large chunks of concrete and metal.

The flyover is at Badabazar, a busy area in central Kolkata near the famous Ganesh Talkies.
Union Minister Babul Supriyo, one of the two BJP parliamentarians from Bengal, alleged that the flyover was being built in violation of rules, without any proper planning.
"It is complete callousness of the state government. How was the flyover planned in a residential area? It was touching the windows of houses. My aunt lives there," Mr Supriyo told NDTV, attacking the Mamata Banerjee government.
Several policemen and fire personnel are at the spot where a large crowd of people has gathered after the collapse.

Ganesha also spelled Ganesa, also known as Ganapati and Vinayaka is a widely worshipped deity in the Hindu pantheon.His image is found throughout India and Nepal. Hindu sects worship him regardless of affiliations. Devotion to Ganesha is widely diffused and extends to Jains, Buddhists, and beyond India.
Although he is known by many attributes, Ganesha's elephant head makes him easy to identify. Ganesha is widely revered as the remover of obstacles, the patron of arts and sciences and the deva of intellect and wisdom. As the god of beginnings, he is honoured at the start of rituals and ceremonies. Ganesha is also invoked as patron of letters and learning during writing sessions. Several texts relate mythological anecdotes associated with his birth and exploits and explain his distinct iconography.
Ganesha emerged as a distinct deity in the 4th and 5th centuries CE, during the Gupta Period, although he inherited traits from Vedic and pre-Vedic precursors.
