Epilogue

An epilogue or epilog (from Greek ἐπίλογος epílogos, "conclusion" from ἐπί- "in addition" and λέγειν légein, "to say") is a piece of writing at the end of a work of literature, usually used to bring closure to the work. It is presented from the perspective of within the story. When the author steps in and speaks indirectly to the reader, that is more properly considered an afterword. The opposite is a prologue—a piece of writing at the beginning of a work of literature or drama, usually used to open the story and capture interest.

In literature

An epilogue is the final chapter at the end of a story that often serves to reveal the fates of the characters. Some epilogues may feature scenes only tangentially related to the subject of the story. They can be used to hint at a sequel or wrap up all the loose ends. They can occur at a significant period of time after the main plot has ended. In some cases, the epilogue is used to allow the main character a chance to "speak freely".

An epilogue can continue in the same narrative style and perspective as the preceding story, although the form of an epilogue can occasionally be drastically different from the overall story. It can also be used as a sequel.

List of Justice League episodes

Justice League and Justice League Unlimited are American animated series about a team of superheroes which ran from 2001 to 2006 on Cartoon Network. In April 2006, reruns began airing on Cartoon Network's sister channel Boomerang, and in Canada it is also shown on Teletoon every Friday night for Superfan Fridays. It is based on the Justice League and associated comic book characters published by DC Comics.

After the second season, the show is renamed Justice League Unlimited, has a vastly expanded cast of characters, and largely changes from two-part episodes to single-episode stand-alone stories that often intertwine to form long (even season-long) story arcs. Combined, there are a total of 91 episodes, along with two crossover episodes of Static Shock in which the League appears.

The show is the last in a series of animated features that together constitute what is known as the DC animated universe (though Batman Beyond and The Zeta Project take place later in the same continuity). It consists of a series of eight television shows and four films, largely surrounding DC Comics characters and their respective mythos.

Epilogue (TV series)

Epilogue is a televised book review show hosted alternately by Ken Livingstone (Former Mayor of London) and Derek Conway MP. It is on the international television network Press TV. The first series was transmitted on 2 November 2001 and the show is now in its second series. The programme features Livingstone and Conway’s take on selected political books and current affairs, with expert guests also on the panel (usually 2 per show). The show opens with a short video introduction to the book under review.

Ocelot

The ocelot (/ˈɒsəlɒt/; Leopardus pardalis), also known as the dwarf leopard, is a wild cat distributed extensively within South America including the islands of Trinidad and Margarita, Central America, and Mexico. It has been reported as far north as Texas. North of Mexico, it is found regularly only in the extreme southern part of Texas, although there are rare sightings in southern Arizona.

The ocelot is similar in appearance to a domestic cat. Its fur resembles that of a clouded leopard or jaguar and was once regarded as particularly valuable. As a result, hundreds of thousands of ocelots were once killed for their fur. The feline was classified as a vulnerable species from 1972 until 1996, and is now listed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

Etymology

The name ocelot comes from the Nahuatl word ōcēlōtl (pronounced [oːˈseːloːt͡ɬ]), which usually refers to the jaguar (Panthera onca) rather than the ocelot.

Taxonomy

The ocelot's genus Leopardus consists of nine species similar to the ocelot, such as Geoffroy's cat and the margay, which are also endemic to South and Central America. All of the cats in Leopardus are spotted, lithe, and small, with the ocelot being the biggest.

O-Force

The O-Force is a superhuman mutant team in the Marvel Comics universe. Their first appearance was in X-Statix #1 and was created by Peter Milligan and Mike Allred.

Publication history

Created by Peter Milligan and Michael Allred, O-Force's only appearance was in the first story arc of the X-Statix comic book series, lasting four issues. After this all of the team's whereabouts and status are unknown after the events of "Decimation" and the "Civil War". The exception is Obituary, who was mentioned in the Civil War: Battle Damage Report one-shot.

Fictional team biography

The team is created for a reality television show where mutants compete for a place in the O-Force team. Three of the trainees (Oink, Oracle and Orifice) are only pictured in a single panel and do not appear with the team.

The O-Force television show airs starring Optoman, Orchid, Overkill and Ozone. They compete in a fight onscreen, with Optoman taking the brunt of it. Later, as the team is assembled, a video is shown across the nation of a practice mission. O-Force's first mission is to rescue a group of actors from a mansion filled with gunmen. X-Statix does not believe the mission is anything more than a set-up to make O-Force look good. This is confirmed by the thought bubbles of Solomon O'Sullivan, O-Force's agent. The gunmen who threaten the actors are killed during the mission.
