Horse Cave is a home rule-class city in Hart County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 2,252 at the 2000 U.S. census.
The town was settled by Maj. Albert Anderson in the 1840s. The landowner donated land for an L&N station in 1858 on the provision that it be named after nearby Horse Cave. The community around the station developed quickly, so that a post office was erected in 1860 and the city was formally incorporated by the state assembly in 1864.
The cave for which the city is named is located on the south side of Main Street. Various explanations are given for its unusual name. One is that Native Americans or outlaws hid horses in the cave; another is that an early carriage may have lost a horse when it fell into the opening by accident; a third reason involves the 19th-century use of "horse" as slang for anything big or huge, related to a similar use of the Swedish hoss. The cave has also been known as Hidden River Cave, for an underground stream located inside. That stream was used to power a dynamo and, for a while in the late 19th century, Horse Cave was the only city in Kentucky apart from Louisville and Ashland to have electric lights. Around World War I, the only air-conditioned tennis courts in the world were located near the entrance of the cave. The stream also provided the town's water supply but mistaken development caused raw sewage to seep into the water and forced the closure of the cave for fifty years. The stench was so bad in the 1960s that pedestrians typically crossed to the other side of Main Street rather than walk near the entrance and birds would sometimes fall from the sky. The problem has been largely solved in recent years.

I take a look at Caverna - Die Höhlenbauern, designed by Uwe Rosenberg, published by Lookout Spiele in 2013. It could be considered a sequel to Agricola, since it is also an economic worker placement game and re-uses many of the mechanisms. It's for 1-7 players, ages 12 and up and plays in about 30 minutes per player. This video is a walkthrough of a full four player game with the "Full game" rules, aiming at teaching you the rules and showing you what the game plays like. Please note: I'm not trying to teach you the strategy of the game, actually some of the moves will probably be not really good at all. Condition: Nerd went head to head this week in a two-player playthrough of Caverna: The Cave Famers. With a variety of strategies to choose from (agriculture, mining, building, etc.), it was tough to call the winner before the final round, but we had a blast and will definitely be playing it again soon.

Thank you for your support https://www.paypal.me/roadnomad http://patreon.com/travelingrobert We arrive at the state of Kentucky, and visit Mammoth Cave National Park. We take the tow-hour long Domes and Dripstones tour, which takes us through the so-called "new entrance" to the cave. Then we continue on our journey towards Louisville, passing by Hodgenville, the birthplace of Abraham Lincoln but we don't actually visit the historical site. Instead, we stumble upon one of Abe's boyhood homes. We then continue towards Loretto, where the Maker's Mark distillery is located. This is the short version of this trip, I am only showing the actual zip line footage here. There will be a "Zip Line experience" video posted showing all the antics of the awesome tour guides and what to expect on the voyage. It was a very fun experience. This adventure park, located near Mammoth Cave in Kentucky, has a five zipline tour, plus several other attractions. The zipline course costs about $60, but you can get a package that includes a 70 foot free fall drop tower and a 35 foot super swing for about $80 total. We got the package and I will post those videos soon.

First we visit the Makers Mark Kentucky Bourbon Whisky distillery. At the beautiful property we learn about their history, the whiskey making process, and at the end we get to sample 4 different varieties, including the raw moonshine-like white alcohol, before the put in the oak barrels to age. That is some potent stuff. After our whiskey adventure we continue towards Louisville, crossing through beautiful rural Kentucky and Bardstown, self-proclaimed the Whisky Capital of the World. Your time is near, the mission's clear, it's later than we think
Before you slip into the night, you'll want something to drink
Steal away before the dawn, and bring us back good news
But if you've tread in primal soup, please wipe it from your shoes
Just then a porthole pirate scourged the evening with his cry
And sanctuary bugs deprived the monkey of its thigh
A dust arose and clogged my nose before I could blink twice
Despite the stuff that bubbled up, I gave some last advice:
The flesh from Satan's dogs will make the rudiments of gruel
Deduct the carrots from your pay you worthless swampy fool
Exploding then through fields and fen and swimming in the mire
The septic maiden's gargoyle tooth demented me with fire
I drifted where the current chose afloat upon my back
And if perchance a newt slimed by, I'd stuff it in my sack
Soon I felt a bubble form, somewhere below my skin
But with handy spine of hedgehog I removed the force within
Suzie then removed her mask and caused a mighty stir
The angry mob responded taking turns at grabbing her
The foggy cavern's musty grime appeared within my palm
I snatched Rick's fork to scrape it off with deadly icy calm
[Alternate lyrics for above verse:
The brothel wife then grabbed a knife and slashed me on the tongue
I turned the blade back on the bitch and dropped her in the dung]
The crowd meanwhile had taken Sue and used her like a rag
To mop the slime from where the slug had slithered with the bag
In summing up, the moral seems a little bit obscure...
Give the director a serpent deflector
a mudrat detector, a ribbon reflector
a cushion convector, a pitcher of nectar *
a virile dissector,a hormone collector
Whatever you do, take care of your shoes
