Raw data, i.e. unprocessed data, is a collection of numbers, characters; data processing commonly occurs by stages, and the "processed data" from one stage may be considered the "raw data" of the next. Field data is raw data that is collected in an uncontrolled in situ environment. Experimental data is data that is generated within the context of a scientific investigation by observation and recording.
The Latin word "data" is the plural of "datum", and still may be used as a plural noun in this sense. Nowadays, though, "data" is most commonly used in the singular, as a mass noun (like "information", "sand" or "rain").

Whether it's behind the turntables or in the Studio, Oliver likes versatile, techno infused tracks with room for deep elements as well as pure dancefloor work. His style is warm and subtle but at the same time very energetic. With releases on „Ostwind Records", „Parquet Recordings" and „Musik gewinnt Freunde" Hamburg-based Oliver Schories finally found his home in 2010 after years of experimenting with different electronic music styles like Drum n' Bass, 2Step and New Rave Electronica. When asked about their online privacy, most people think they got nothing to hide. With my talk, I want to show that this is probably not true. To do this, I'll show a series of experiments that demonstrate how easy it is to learn interesting and sometimes very private things about people by analyzing the data trails they leave behind. Seit Anfang Juni dominieren die Enthüllungen von Edward Snowden die Schlagzeilen aller Nachrichten, wurde doch durch ihn der größte Überwachungsskandal des Internetzeitalters aufgedeckt.
Die Überwachung durch eine befreundete Nation erscheint derartig umfassend, dass nicht nur wir Bürger aufgrund des Gefühls einer vollständigen Überwachung aller Lebensbereiche resignieren. Auch unsere Regierungsvertreter und die Repräsentanten der europäischen Staaten scheinen hilflos überfordert von dieser Situation zu sein. Der englische Premier Cameron versucht die Berichterstattung der freien Presse mit staatlichen Repressionen zu unterdrücken und die deutsche Kanzlerin bittet im Wahlkampf ihren Nato Partner Amerika auf Wirtschaftsspionage unter Freunden zu verzichten.
Lange wurde diskutiert wie so eine Überwachung aus Sicht des Amerikanischen Rechtssystems überhaupt gerechtfertigt werden kann, wie für die halbe Welt Terrorwarnungen ausgegeben werden können, und dass jeder einzelne wohl nichts von den Überwachungen zu befürchten haben, solange wir - aus dem Blickwinkel Amerikas - nichts zu verbergen haben. Doch wie steht es mit den Informationen die man gerne vor seinen wirtschaftlichen Konkurrenten auf der anderen Seite des Teichs schützen möchte, um keine wirtschaftlichen Nachteile als Exportnation zu erleiden.
Gemeinsam mit Dr. Maximilian Burger-Scheidlin, Geschäftsführer der Internationalen Handelskammer, versucht Mag. Georg Markus Kainz über die Gefahren von Wirtschaftsspionage zu sprechen. Hat Österreichs Wirtschaft etwas zu verbergen?
