Cronaca di un tradimento sostenibile
Una New York di quarant'anni fa in parole e musica senza tempo
ma si cela dell'altro dietro l'atmosfera indefinita di questa canzone.
Per sua stessa ammissione Cohen era attratto in quel periodo
dalla teoria dianetica di Scientology, una sorta di infatuazione
giovanile profonda ma fugace e passeggera allo stesso tempo
destinata a svanire ben presto per sua e nostra fortuna.
Egli sussurra ambiguamente fra le righe la riproposizione go clear,
fare chiarezza o giungere alla verita, nel senso iniziatico e radicale
del termine quale lo intendeva appunto la dottrina di Hubbard,
lo stato di purezza ascetica cui deve tendere l'adepto della setta.
Sicchè il pensiero filosofico si sottintende e confonde nel testo
oltre la mera espressione letteraria offrendone una chiave
di lettura codificata, quasi esoterica.
Decifrata la password, l'ascoltatore può accedere liberamente
al suo interno ed elaborarlo soggettivamente alla luce del proprio
vissuto e della sensibilità individuale.
Personalmente ho optato per una lettura di tipo psicoanalitico
identificando nel duo protagonista/antagonista, lui e l'altro,
la medesima figura dell'autore, entrambi facce di un'unica medaglia,
l'essere chiaro e l'essere scuro che convivono insieme nell'animo
di ognuno di noi.
Ovviamente è solo una delle tante interpretazioni possibili
chiunque può trarne in tal maniera delle proprie a suo piacimento
e nell'evoluzione a divenire altra e diversa, aldilà della forma immutabile,
sta forse il fascino arcano ed imperscrutabile di questa canzone.

"2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted" (sometimes referred to as "Gangsta Party") is a hip hop song written by 2Pac, Snoop Dogg and Daz Dillinger for 2Pac's 1996 double album All Eyez on Me. The song is a duet performed by 2Pac and Snoop Dogg. "2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted" was released as promotional recording and was the album's second single, after "California Love". The song peaked at number 46 on the US Billboard Hot R&B;/Hip-Hop Airplay chart.
"2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted" was later included on 2Pac's Greatest Hits in 1998. A remix of the song was also featured on the album Nu-Mixx Klazzics in 2003.
The video was Directed by one of Tupac's production Partners Gobi M. Rahimi and was filmed four months prior to Tupac's September 1996 shooting. The prelude for the song shows a parody of Biggie Smalls ("Piggie") and Puff Daddy ("Buff Daddy") in discussion with Shakur about the November 1994 shooting.
Snoop's first line in the song, "I keep my hand on my gun, 'cos they got me on the run" is a reference to "The Message" by Grandmaster Flash.
This song was played as tribute to 2Pac on the Up In Smoke Tour, in 2000, by Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg. They played this, along with 2 other songs, as tribute to 2Pac. The sample of 2Pac verse, is played with the crowd waving their hands, with their twos' in the air. On Snoop Dogg's verse, he raps it. On the chorus, Snoop Dogg has the crowd sing, "Say, 2Pac. Say we love you. We miss you."
On April 15, 2012, the song was played at the Coachella Festival with Snoop Dogg performing with a virtual version of 2Pac.
All Eyez on Me is the fifth studio album by American rapper 2Pac, released February 13, 1996 on Death Row Records and Interscope Records.
The album is frequently recognized as one of the crowning achievements of 1990s rap music. It has been said that "despite some undeniable filler, it is easily the best production 2Pac's ever had on record". It was certified 5× Platinum after just 2 months in April 1996 and 9× platinum in 1998. The album featured the Billboard Hot 100 number one singles "How Do U Want It" and "California Love". It featured 5 singles in all, the most of any 2Pac album. Moreover, All Eyez On Me (which was the only Death Row release to be distributed through PolyGram by way of Island Records) made history as the first double-full-length hip-hop solo studio album released for mass consumption. It was issued on two compact discs and four LPs.
Chartwise, All Eyez on Me was the second album from 2Pac to hit number-one on both the Billboard 200 and the Top R&B;/Hip-Hop Albums charts. It sold 566,000 copies in the first week of its release, and was charted on the top 100 with the top one-week Soundscan sales since 1991. The album won the 1997 Soul Train R&B;/Soul or Rap Album of the Year Award. Shakur also won the Award for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist at the 24th Annual American Music Awards.
All Eyez On Me was released after Suge Knight, CEO of Death Row Records, bailed 2Pac out of jail in exchange for signing to Death Row, fulfilling part of 2Pac's brand new contract. This double-album served as the first two albums of his three album contract.[citation needed]
The songs on All Eyez On Me are, in general, unapologetic celebrations of living the "Thug Lifestyle". Though there is the occasional reminiscence about past and present friends, it is a definite move away from the social and political consciousness of 2Pacalypse Now. The hit single "2 Of Amerikaz Most Wanted" is a collaboration with Snoop Dogg
The album features occasional guest spots from 2Pac's regulars, such as former-Thug Life members and the Outlawz, as well as Snoop Dogg, George Clinton, Rappin' 4-Tay, Method Man, Redman, and other guests. The song "Heartz of Men" samples a portion of Richard Pryor's comedy album "That Nigger's Crazy". Most of the album was produced by Johnny "J" and Daz Dillinger, with help from Dr. Dre on the songs "California Love", which he himself appeared in also as an album guest spot, and "Can't C Me", which was Clinton's appearance.
All Eyez On Me is 2Pac's second best selling album (behind only his Greatest Hits album). The album was certified 5x Platinum in the United States after just 2 months and was later certified 9x platinum.[9] It was re-released in 2001 as enhanced CDs containing the "California Love" music video. Both discs contained the same data track. It was also re-released as a Dual-Disc in 2005.

Blues
Blues is a genre and musical form that originated in African-American communities in the "Deep South" of the United States around the end of the 19th century. The genre developed from roots in traditional African music, combined with European American folk music. Blues incorporated spirituals, work songs, field hollers, shouts, and chants, and rhymed simple narrative ballads. The blues form, ubiquitous in jazz, rhythm and blues and rock and roll, is characterized by the call-and-response pattern, the blues scale and specific chord progressions, of which the twelve-bar blues is the most common. The blue notes (or "worried notes") which are often thirds or fifths which are flatter in pitch than in other music styles, are also an important part of the sound. Blues shuffles or walking bass reinforce the trance-like rhythm and form a repetitive effect called a groove.
Blues as a genre possesses other characteristics such as lyrics, bass lines, and instruments. The lyrics of early traditional blues verses consisted of a single line repeated four times. It was only in the first decades of the 20th century that the most common current structure became standard: the so-called AAB pattern, consisting of a line sung over the four first bars, its repetition over the next four, and then a longer concluding line over the last bars. Early blues frequently took the form of a loose narrative, often relating troubles experienced within African American society.

Snoop Dogg
Calvin Cordozar Broadus, Jr. (born October 20, 1971), known professionally as Snoop Dogg, is an American rapper and actor from Long Beach, California. His music career began in 1992 when he was discovered by Dr. Dre of N.W.A and, as a result, was prominently featured throughout Dr. Dre's solo debut album, The Chronic (1992). He has since sold over 21 million albums in the United States and 35 million albums worldwide.
Snoop's debut album, Doggystyle, was released in 1993 under Death Row Records, debuting at number one on both the Billboard 200 and Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts. Selling almost a million copies in the first week of its release, Doggystyle became certified 4× platinum in 1994 and spawned several hit singles, including "What's My Name?" and "Gin & Juice". In 1994, Snoop released a soundtrack on Death Row Records for the short film Murder Was The Case, starring himself. His second album Tha Doggfather (1996), also debuted at number one on both charts with "Snoop's Upside Ya Head", as the lead single. The album was certified double platinum in 1997.

Hillary Clinton
Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton (born October 26, 1947) is an American politician and former United States Senator from New York from 2001 to 2009. She is the wife of the 42nd President of the United States William "Bill" Jefferson Clinton, and was First Lady of the United States during his tenure from 1993 to 2001. She served under current President Barack Obama as the 67th United States Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013. She co-founded Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families in 1977, became the first female chair of the Legal Services Corporation in 1978, and was named the first female partner at Rose Law Firm in 1979. While First Lady of Arkansas from 1979 to 1981, and 1983 to 1992, she led a task force that reformed Arkansas' public school system, and served on the board of directors of Wal-Mart among other corporations.

The song is a duet performed by 2Pac and Snoop Dogg. "2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted" was released as promotional recording and was the album's second single, after "California Love". The song peaked at number 46 on the US Billboard Hot R&B;/Hip-Hop Airplay chart. "2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted" was later included on 2Pac's Greatest Hits in 1998. A remix of the song was also featured on the album Nu-Mixx Klazzics in 2003. The video was Directed by one of Tupac's production Partners Gobi M. Rahimi and was filmed four months prior to Tupac's September 1996 shooting. The prelude for the song shows a parody of Biggie Smalls ("Piggie") and Puff Daddy ("Buff Daddy") in discussion with Shakur about the November 1994 shooting. Snoop's first line in the song, "I keep my hand on my gun, 'cos they got me on the run" is a reference to "The Message" by Grandmaster Flash. This song was played as tribute to 2Pac on the Up In Smoke Tour, in 2000, by Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg. They played this, along with 2 other songs, as tribute to 2Pac. The sample of 2Pac verse, is played with the crowd waving their hands, with their twos' in the air. On Snoop Dogg's verse, he raps it. On the chorus, Snoop Dogg has the crowd sing, "Say, 2Pac. Say we love you. We miss you." On April 15, 2012, the song was played at the Coachella Festival with Snoop Dogg performing with a virtual version of 2Pac. All Eyez on Me is the fifth studio album by American rapper 2Pac, released February 13, 1996 on Death Row Records and Interscope Records. The album is frequently recognized as one of the crowning achievements of 1990s rap music. It has been said that "despite some undeniable filler, it is easily the best production 2Pac's ever had on record". It was certified 5× Platinum after just 2 months in April 1996 and 9× platinum in 1998. The album featured the Billboard Hot 100 number one singles "How Do U Want It" and "California Love". It featured 5 singles in all, the most of any 2Pac album. Moreover, All Eyez On Me (which was the only Death Row release to be distributed through PolyGram by way of Island Records) made history as the first double-full-length hip-hop solo studio album released for mass consumption. It was issued on two compact discs and four LPs. Chartwise, All Eyez on Me was the second album from 2Pac to hit number-one on both the Billboard 200 and the Top R&B;/Hip-Hop Albums charts. It sold 566,000 copies in the first week of its release, and was charted on the top 100 with the top one-week Soundscan sales since 1991. The album won the 1997 Soul Train R&B;/Soul or Rap Album of the Year Award. Shakur also won the Award for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist at the 24th Annual American Music Awards. All Eyez On Me was released after Suge Knight, CEO of Death Row Records, bailed 2Pac out of jail in exchange for signing to Death Row, fulfilling part of 2Pac's brand new contract. This double-album served as the first two albums of his three album contract.[citation needed] The songs on All Eyez On Me are, in general, unapologetic celebrations of living the "Thug Lifestyle". Though there is the occasional reminiscence about past and present friends, it is a definite move away from the social and political consciousness of 2Pacalypse Now. The hit single "2 Of Amerikaz Most Wanted" is a collaboration with Snoop Dogg The album features occasional guest spots from 2Pac's regulars, such as former-Thug Life members and the Outlawz, as well as Snoop Dogg, George Clinton, Rappin' 4-Tay, Method Man, Redman, and other guests. The song "Heartz of Men" samples a portion of Richard Pryor's comedy album "That Nigger's Crazy". Most of the album was produced by Johnny "J" and Daz Dillinger, with help from Dr. Dre on the songs "California Love", which he himself appeared in also as an album guest spot, and "Can't C Me", which was Clinton's appearance. All Eyez On Me is 2Pac's second best selling album (behind only his Greatest Hits album). The album was certified 5x Platinum in the United States after just 2 months and was later certified 9x platinum.[9] It was re-released in 2001 as enhanced CDs containing the "California Love" music video. Both discs contained the same data track. It was also re-released as a Dual-Disc in 2005. -

ma si cela dell'altro dietro l'atmosfera indefinita di questa canzone.
Per sua stessa ammissione Cohen era attratto in quel periodo
dalla teoria dianetica di Scientology, una sorta di infatuazione
giovanile profonda ma fugace e passeggera allo stesso tempo
destinata a svanire ben presto per sua e nostra fortuna.
Egli sussurra ambiguamente fra le righe la riproposizione go clear,
fare chiarezza o giungere alla verita, nel senso iniziatico e radicale
del termine quale lo intendeva appunto la dottrina di Hubbard,
lo stato di purezza ascetica cui deve tendere l'adepto della setta.
Sicchè il pensiero filosofico si sottintende e confonde nel testo
oltre la mera espressione letteraria offrendone una chiave
di lettura codificata, quasi esoterica.
Decifrata la password, l'ascoltatore può accedere liberamente

"2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted" (sometimes referred to as "Gangsta Party") is a hip hop song written by 2Pac, Snoop Dogg and Daz Dillinger for 2Pac's 1996 double album All Eyez on Me. The video was Directed by one of Tupac's production Partners Gobi M. Rahimi and was filmed four months prior to Tupac's September 1996 shooting. The prelude for the song shows a parody of Biggie Smalls ("Piggie") and Puff Daddy ("Buff Daddy") in discussion with Shakur about the November 1994 shooting.
Snoop's first line in the song, "I keep my hand on my gun, 'cos they got me on the run" is a reference to "The Message" by Grandmaster Flash.
This song was played as tribute to 2Pac on the Up In Smoke Tour, in 2000, by Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg. They played this, along with 2 other songs, as tribute to 2Pac. The sample of 2Pac verse, is played with the crowd waving their hands, with their twos' in the air. On Snoop Dogg's verse, he raps it. On the chorus, Snoop Dogg has the crowd sing, "Say, 2Pac. Say we love you. We miss you."
On April 15, 2012, the song was played at the Coachella Festival with Snoop Dogg performing with a virtual version of 2Pac.
All Eyez on Me is the fifth studio album by American rapper 2Pac, released February 13, 1996 on Death Row Records and Interscope Records.
The album is frequently recognized as one of the crowning achievements of 1990s rap music. It has been said that "despite some undeniable filler, it is easily the best production 2Pac's ever had on record". It was certified 5× Platinum after just 2 months in April 1996 and 9× platinum in 1998. The album featured the Billboard Hot 100 number one singles "How Do U Want It" and "California Love". It featured 5 singles in all, the most of any 2Pac album. Moreover, All Eyez On Me (which was the only Death Row release to be distributed through PolyGram by way of Island Records) made history as the first double-full-length hip-hop solo studio album released for mass consumption. It was issued on two compact discs and four LPs.
Chartwise, All Eyez on Me was the second album from 2Pac to hit number-one on both the Billboard 200 and the Top R&B;/Hip-Hop Albums charts. It sold 566,000 copies in the first week of its release, and was charted on the top 100 with the top one-week Soundscan sales since 1991. The album won the 1997 Soul Train R&B;/Soul or Rap Album of the Year Award. Shakur also won the Award for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist at the 24th Annual American Music Awards.

"2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted" (sometimes referred to as "Gangsta Party") is a hip hop song written by 2Pac, Snoop Dogg and Daz Dillinger for 2Pac's 1996 double album All Eyez on Me. The song is a duet performed by 2Pac and Snoop Dogg. "2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted" was released as promotional recording and was the album's second single, after "California Love". The song peaked at number 46 on the US Billboard Hot R&B;/Hip-Hop Airplay chart.
"2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted" was later included on 2Pac's Greatest Hits in 1998. A remix of the song was also featured on the album Nu-Mixx Klazzics in 2003.
The video was Directed by one of Tupac's production Partners Gobi M. Rahimi and was filmed four months prior to Tupac's September 1996 shooting. The prelude for the song shows a parody of Biggie Smalls ("Piggie") and Puff Daddy ("Buff Daddy") in discussion with Shakur about the November 1994 shooting.
Snoop's first line in the song, "I keep my hand on my gun, 'cos they got me on the run" is a reference to "The Message" by Grandmaster Flash.
This song was played as tribute to 2Pac on the Up In Smoke Tour, in 2000, by Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg. They played this, along with 2 other songs, as tribute to 2Pac. The sample of 2Pac verse, is played with the crowd waving their hands, with their twos' in the air. On Snoop Dogg's verse, he raps it. On the chorus, Snoop Dogg has the crowd sing, "Say, 2Pac. Say we love you. We miss you."
On April 15, 2012, the song was played at the Coachella Festival with Snoop Dogg performing with a virtual version of 2Pac.
All Eyez on Me is the fifth studio album by American rapper 2Pac, released February 13, 1996 on Death Row Records and Interscope Records.
The album is frequently recognized as one of the crowning achievements of 1990s rap music. It has been said that "despite some undeniable filler, it is easily the best production 2Pac's ever had on record". It was certified 5× Platinum after just 2 months in April 1996 and 9× platinum in 1998. The album featured the Billboard Hot 100 number one singles "How Do U Want It" and "California Love". It featured 5 singles in all, the most of any 2Pac album. Moreover, All Eyez On Me (which was the only Death Row release to be distributed through PolyGram by way of Island Records) made history as the first double-full-length hip-hop solo studio album released for mass consumption. It was issued on two compact discs and four LPs.
Chartwise, All Eyez on Me was the second album from 2Pac to hit number-one on both the Billboard 200 and the Top R&B;/Hip-Hop Albums charts. It sold 566,000 copies in the first week of its release, and was charted on the top 100 with the top one-week Soundscan sales since 1991. The album won the 1997 Soul Train R&B;/Soul or Rap Album of the Year Award. Shakur also won the Award for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist at the 24th Annual American Music Awards.

Speaker Biography: John Witte is is the Robert W. Woodruff Professor of Law, McDonald Distinguished Professor and director of the Center for the Study of Law and Religion at Emory University. He is a specialist in legal history, marriage law and religious liberty. Witte's writings have appeared in 12 languages, and he has lectured and convened conferences in North America, Western and Eastern Europe, Japan, Israel, Australia, Hong Kong and South Africa. With major funding from the Pew, Ford, Lilly, Luce and McDonald foundations, he has directed 12 major international research projects on democracy, human rights and religious liberty, and on marriage, family and children. Witte is a past holder of the Kluge Center's Cary and Ann Maguire Chair in Ethics and American History.
Speaker Biography: Sarah Barringer Gordon, the Arlin M. Adams Professor of Constitutional Law and Professor of History at the University of Pennsylvania, is an expert on religion in American public life and the law of church and state, especially how religious liberty developed over the course of American history. She is a frequent commentator in news media on the constitutional law of religion and debates about religious freedom. Her current book project, "Freedom's Holy Light: Disestablishment in America, 1776-1876," is about the historical relationships among religion, politics and law.
Speaker Biography: Peter Manseau is the Lilly Endowment Curator of American Religious History at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History. He is the author of six books, including the memoir "Vows," the novel "Songs for the Butcher's Daughter," the travelogue "Rag and Bone," and the retelling of America's diverse spiritual formation "One Nation, Under Gods." Manseau is the winner of the National Jewish Book Award, the American Library Association's Sophie Brody Medal for Outstanding Achievement in Jewish Literature, the Ribalow Prize for Fiction and a 2012 National Endowment for the Arts Literature Fellowship.

Playing the saxophone and improvising with equations, Alexander uncovered the connection between waves that make up sound and waves that make up everything else. The ancient idea of “music of the spheres,” taken seriously, clarifies confounding issues in physics. Covering the entire history of the universe from its birth to its fate, its structure on the smallest and largest scales, The Jazz of Physics will inspire anyone interested in the mysteries of our universe, music, and life itself.
Stephon Alexander is a Professor of Physics at Brown University and the winner of the 2013 American Physical Society Bouchet Award. He is also a jazz musician and recently finished recording his first electronic jazz album with Erin Rioux.
